What can one say about Carl Barks? He's one of the best, if not THE best, comic book artists and authors of all time. His storytelling and characterization are exceptional and unparalleled. His rendering of characters is amazing, in particular in how he can express such a wide range of emotion, and his scenes are astonishingly amazingly good; his linework is expressive and clean, and his composition is fascinating (in particular, when you consider it in the context of the stories he tells).
