Set Description:
This is a Superman team-up series which ran for 97 issues plus four annuals, from August 1978 (and which cost 35 cents) to September 1986 (which cost $1.25! More than triple the cost!)
Notable issues include issue 26, featuring a New Teen Titans preview and Jim Starlin art; issue 27, which introduces the supervillain Mongul; issue 47, featuring the first appearance of He-man and the Masters of the Universe characters; Ambush Bug makes his first appearance in issue 52, and Jack Kirby's Challengers of the Unknown appear in issue 84, with art by the great Kirby and Alex Toth. Issue 85 features an Alan Moore Swamp Thing story. Superboy-Prime is introduced in issue 87.
Issues 25-48 (with a few exceptions) feature a "Whatever Happened to . . ." back story, with characters as diverse as Hourman, Richard Dragon, and Rex the Wonder Dog!
It is a great, important, and fun series.
Issue #12 features a Mister Miracle cover!
Goal for this set: Entire set in 9.6 or better.
As of 8/13/21, only ONE issue left to complete the set!
