I first got a hold of these 'books' as I was striving to complete my Turok Son of Stone set. Very nice reprints and a limited run - thought it would be nice to collect and complete!

Dan Curtis Giveaway comics were published by Western Publishing. A set of nine 6" x 3" mini-comics intended for use as bubble gum premiums were printed around 1974. In addition to a pair of abridged Gold Key Star Trek comics, stories from Dark Shadows, Dagar the Invincible, Grimm's Ghost Stories, The Occult Files of Dr. Spektor, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Turok Son of Stone, and the Twilight Zone were also reprinted. Evidently these comics are called Dan Curtis Giveaways because issue #1, Dark Shadows, is copyright Dan Curtis Productions. Dan Curtis produced the Dark Shadows television series, but probably didn't have anything to do with these comics.
