Casey, April and the TMNT are at Jones' Grandmother's farmhouse in Massachusetts, trying to renovate the squalid old place. April and Raph aren't very enthusiastic about the work, but everyone pitches in with a little prodding from Casey, who's reveling in memories of the place.
Meanwhile, in the nearby city of Holyoke, we find Sid and his group of thug friends. Sid tells his cronies that he wants to pay a visit to his "psycho" cousin Casey, who's moved into the family's farmhouse.
Don is exploring the attic of the homestead when he's attacked by a strange, furry creature - that turns out to be Mikey in a raccoon fur coat.
As Sid and his buddies drive to Northampton, Sid reveals a handgun and a plan to "scare" Casey. The trouble makers arrive at the farm and Casey greets them with no affection. Jones tells his cousin that he's not welcome, but Sid and his henchmen grab Casey and force their way in. Jones demands to know what this scene is all about and Sid reveals that he's looking for $250,000.00 in cash that their Grandfather had stolen from a train back in the day. Casey denies any knowledge of the money and Sid pulls the pistol on him. The Turtles discover the stand-off and immediately make plans to help. The mutant terrapins head out of a window and begin beeping the horn of Sid's car.
Sid sends his friends outside to investigate, and one by one the punks are taken down by the TMNT. Once the last hoodlum is out cold, the Turtles begin to beep the horn of the car once again. This distracts Sid and Casey seizes the opportunity to launch his own attack. Jones easily takes down his cousin and prepares to beat him senseless, but April cries out for Casey to stop - reluctantly, Jones ceases his assault.
Casey lets Sid explain more of his story, and we discover that Sid and his father have been searching the property for years in effort to find the money. The only clue they have are the last words that their Grandfather spoke before he died, "X marks the spot." Jones laughs off the story, but then he remembers that his Grandfather had buried his dog named Spot next to the barn, near a foundation stone that resembled a headstone. April, Sid and Casey find the spot where Spot was buried and after some investigating, Casey finds a loose stone in the foundation. He removes it and finds a small box within!
As Casey removes the container, Sid snatches it from him. Jones dives into his cousin and the box goes flying. The two men race to get the package, and in their struggle, it bursts open, sending paper flying everywhere. Sid scrambles to retrieve every bit that he can. They soon discover that the paper is not cash - but notes left by their Grandmother. She had given all the money away to charity and had kept individual notes and how much went to where. April surmises that she did it in effort to make up for her husband's crimes.
Later the TMNT, April and Casey are sitting beside the fireplace inside the farmhouse, thankful that with the money gone, they've seen the last of cousin Sid and his friends.

The Turtles are sitting around the farmhouse in Northampton, watching TV. Donatello decides that everyone is becoming couch potatoes and Leo suggests that they should head over to Springfield, a nearby city that will offer them the chance to jump around on some buildings. The guys head out and after an enjoyable night of exploring, they hear some gun shots. As they rush to investigate, they run headlong into a caped crusader - who's been shot in the arm. The man asks the Turtles to trail a truck that he had been staking out while he goes to treat his flesh wound. The TMNT are skeptical, but the fellow shows them a police badge, which convinces most of the guys that they should help. The costumed cop tells the Turtles to meet him at a nearby bridge at dawn.
The TMNT hop onto the roof of the truck and ride it out to the parking lot of B.F.R. Trucking.
Later, the Turtles are waiting for the vigilante cop to arrive on the bridge. As Raph snarls that they shouldn't have trusted the guy, he arrives without a sound, actually catching the ninjas by surprise. The police officer is satisfied when he hears where the truck went and heads out. This upsets Raph some more and he demands to know why they should trust the caped crusader, and he's met with equal suspicion from the man in black, who states that he's taking a big chance trusting the Turtles. Nevertheless, the vigilante tells the TMNT to meet him at another bridge later that night if they want more info.
Later that night, Leo meets with costumed police officer. Raph and the others are nearby, but hidden. The caped crime fighter explains that he's been investigating a new salvage company in town ever since he couldn't find out who owned the business. As he searched the grounds of the company, he was discovered by security guards and fired upon - that's when he met the TMNT. Upon further investigation, utilizing the info the Turtles gave him, the cop learned that B.F.R. Trucking's main client was Ruffington Arms, a munitions company with several large government contracts. The hero then tracked the same unmarked truck from B.F.R. that the TMNT had investigated and found that it had gone to Ruffington Arms, received a shipment, and then had gone back to the salvage yard once again. The crime fighter wants to know what kind of cargo the two companies are exchanging, so his plan is to stake out the salvage company once again and find out what they're up to. Leonardo tells the caped crusader that he can count on the Turtles' help.
That night the five heroes sneak into the salvage company's grounds and discover that it's packed full of guards. They gain a vantage point on a tall warehouse and see some large boxes through the skylight. Leonardo uses a grappling hook to snag the box and lift it to the rooftop. Raph pops the box open and inside they find a huge gun decked out with heavy artillery and the latest hi-tech gadgets. The costumed cop decides that it's time to call his friends at the police station when two large limousines arrive. Suddenly workers haul off the boxes of guns to a nearby barge. The policeman is upset by how fast things are happening and tells the Turtles that it will be up to them to stop the guns from leaving. The TMNT head out to remove the threat of the security guards. The caped crime fighter spots a helicopter. Thinking that it's a police craft, the costumed vigilante prepares to signal it - only to discover that it's an unmarked aircraft. The helicopter lands on the barge and the cop decides that they're going to fly the weapons out - and he has to prevent this!
As the Turtles finish off the last of the guards and capture the men in the limousines, the caped crusader loads the big gun that they had found and fires a round at the helicopter... but he misses! With the weapons fully loaded onboard, the aircraft makes a run for it. The policeman takes aim and fires a second shot, this time he's successful and the vehicle crashes into the river.
Soon enough the police arrive in force and begin their investigation into the illegal sale of arms. As the Turtles watch from the safety of the rooftops, they lament that their new friend didn't even say thanks. Leonardo dubs him "Nobody" since he never gave them his name.
We see Nobody standing alone in the shadows far from his new allies. As the Turtles vanish into the distance, Nobody says, "Thanks, guys!"

The story opens with two men flying on a plane that's landing in New York City. The duo is lead by a tall man with a moustache, his companion, Hadji, is a short, fat fellow. Before the craft lands, the mustached man explains that he's delighted to have finally found the idol that he's been searching for. The object is located at "Second Time Around," a name that should ring some bells for readers, as it's April's antique store. Hadji asks if his partner plans to buy the statue, and he's told that it must be stolen.
As the pair depart the plane, the tall man shakes the captain's hand in thanks. As they walk off, we see that the mustached character has actually stolen the captain's wristwatch! The fat man asks if they'll head to the shop immediately, and his cohort explains that they'll first need to recruit some help... as he eyes a homeless man sleeping on a nearby bench.
Later, the mustached man walks into April's shop, asking to see something "grotesque." April shows him a small statue of a six-armed monster that's "priced to move." The fellow is delighted with the statue, but claims to have forgotten his wallet and walks out, leaving a bewildered April behind.
That night, we see three masked men peering into the window of "Second Time Around." The TMNT are upstairs carving pumpkins when the burglar alarm in the antique store goes off. Don thinks that Clunk the cat has set off the alarm again and heads downstairs to check - he soon discovers the three masked men and a fight breaks out. One of the thieves manages to push a bookshelf onto Don and two of the men escape.
The other three Turtles arrive and help Don to escape from the bookcase. Donatello grabs the crook that he'd knocked out and tries to get him to talk. The man is dazed and confused, but manages to tell the Turtles that they'd been forced to steal the statue, and that it had been taken to the Blue Star Hotel. Suddenly, the man begins to choke and he quickly dies! Leonardo tells his brothers to gear up - they're going to the Blue Star Hotel to investigate.
Back at the hotel, the mustached man is gloating over his new prize, the Thieving God Idol. The other two thieves are there, but they soon begin to choke and die, just like their unfortunate compatriot. The tall man explains that he'd given all three a slow-acting poison, as he didn't want to leave any witnesses and they would soon have an endless supply of "expendable servants."
The Turtles soon arrive at the hotel and burst into the thieves' room just as the tall man is in the middle of some strange, magic ceremony. The Turtles state that they don't want any trouble - but they do expect to get paid for the statue.
"Two dollars! Two dollars!" demands Raphael.
The man cries out that they're too late and finishes his incantation - which causes hundreds of little monsters to erupt from the statue of the Thieving God. The creatures attack and distract the TMNT long enough for the sorcerer and his partner to escape down a stairway. The Turtles soon offer chase, and when they emerge on the streets below, they see the little beasties swarming into the streets of New York, looting as they go. The short man spots the Turtles and warns his boss, who takes the idol and invokes another spell - one that brings the statue to life!
The TMNT attack the monster but the fight does not go well. The creature systematically disarms the Turtles and leaves them in a quandary. Don thinks up a plan and the Turtles run, taunting the beast into chasing them.
Meanwhile on the streets, the sorcerer is again gloating that he has unleashed the power of the mightiest thieves of all time - now the Thieving God and his minions were his to command!
The Turtles have climbed to the top of a building and are waiting for the Thieving God monster to arrive. Soon enough the creature turns up, but as soon as it's gained its footing on the rooftop, the TMNT strike! The force of their attack knocks the living statue from the roof and it falls six stories to the pavement below - crashing through the street and leaving a large, smoking crater. The little summoned demons begin to disappear - apparently with their master destroyed, they can no longer exist.
Mikey spots the wizard and his henchman fleeing, and Don throws his staff, tripping the two up.
The police arrive soon and arrest the tall man and Hadji, as the looting demons have left a stockpile of stolen goods for the pair to take the wrap for. One police officer tells the Turtles to get back to their trick or treating. The Turtles smile and walk off.
"Nice kids." Notes one cop.
"Yeah, but weird costumes!" remarks a detective.

The issue opens with the scene of a man, covered in rags, emerging from the swamp. The fellow thinks of himself as being a monster and he's leaving the bog now that the weather is getting colder and seeking refuge in the nearby, abandoned industrial park.
The Turtles and Casey have arrived at the very same complex to do some exploring. The guys hop the fence and walk around the grounds. Mikey mentions stories that say the place is haunted, but everyone scoffs at the idea. The bedraggled man spies on our heroes from above, noting that he was The Ghost last year - this year, he is The Monster - and if the rats don't get the intruders first, he'll make his presence known.
The Monster is shocked when he finally gets a good look at the Turtles, thinking that they're a gang of beasts that have come to take his territory.
The Turtles note a surprising lack of vandalism and trash around the grounds of the industrial complex, considering how many teenagers would normally hang out at a place like this. Maybe the ghost stories frightened people away?
Mike thinks he sees something and leaves the others to investigate on his own. As the Turtle walks through a doorway, the Monster clubs him on the back of the head, knocking him senseless.
Mikey awakes tied to a table, the Monster leering over him. The crazed man accuses Michaelangelo of trying to take the place for himself, which Mike flatly denies... but the Monster won't believe it. The strange man leaves Mike tied to the table, telling him that he'll have to spend the night that way to think things over - and perhaps - be eaten by the rats. With that, the Monster departs, leaving Michaelangelo alone.
Mikey yells for help, but the others are too far away to hear him.
The man has climbed to the top of a tall chimney and listens as the other "monsters" call for Mike, to no avail. As the sun sets, the Monster decides that he'll have to kill the others to keep his homestead.
Mike struggles with his bonds, but he can't break them. Dozens of rats begin emerging from the broken brick walls as night sets in. Startled, Mikey focuses all of his strength and manages to break free! Suddenly, the rats attack the Turtle! The mutant battles diligently, but he loses hope as the supply of rats seems endless. Before all is lost, Don, Leo, Raph and Casey arrive and kill enough rats that the other rodents flee back to their holes.
Michaelangelo explains what happened, and the Monster reveals himself. The guys chase their adversary and arrive at a giant silo. As soon as they enter, the group spots their quarry, standing on the ledge of the silo, high above their heads. The Monster pulls a rope and the doors slam closed behind our heroes, trapping all inside. The Monster explains that he's been bringing food to this silo to feed the rats, in effort to get them to do his bidding. While that hasn't worked out as planned, he's still continued to feed the expectant rodents.
On cue, hundreds of rats begin scrambling out of the cracks in the walls and attacking the TMNT and Casey. The guys do their best to fight the pesky pests, but they're severely out numbered. Mikey makes a mad dash towards a wall of the silo and actually manages to break through the old brick wall. As the guys exit the silo, Leonardo pulls a shuriken from his belt. Mikey yells at him to wait, but Leo launches the throwing star at the Monster, and it embeds into the man's chest, knocking him from the ledge and into the silo.
Mike moves to investigate, but Don pulls him back. Mikey doesn't want to leave the Monster alone with the rats, but Don states that there's nothing that they can do now. The guys walk off as the moon begins to set.
Inside the silo, we see the Monster sitting quietly. Several rats surround the man, but they do not attack - The Monster has become... The Rat King.

The issue begins by telling the origins of Complete Carnage and Radical, two super powered beings who got their abilities when they were each struck by the same bolt of lightning. The villain, Complete Carnage, was a construction worker, who became a rock-like monster after the incident. His rival, the heroic Radical, had been jogging through Central Park when she met her destiny and became infused with liquid energy. The two soon became enemies. Radical bested her opponent by tossing him miles into the air towards the North Pole. Complete Carnage didn't reach his destination, however - instead, he bounced off a passing 747 and landed on the grounds of a religious cult in upper New York state. The cultists took in Carnage and treated him as their prophet, while training him in martial arts. Soon enough, Complete Carnage mastered the ability to pass through steel and concrete, and also absorb energy from the materials. With his newfound powers, CC set out to get revenge upon Radical.
April and the Turtles are riding along in the van when a bike messenger cuts in front of them - April slams the breaks just in time! The bicyclist continues on, but suddenly a hand emerges from the pavement and grabs the front tire, sending the rider head first over the handle bars - but the woman lands on her feet with acrobatic flair. Complete Carnage then appears and attacks the bicyclist, who sheds her street clothes to reveal the costume beneath - it's Radical! A fight breaks out amongst the super heroes and the TMNT decide that they'll have to help the woman - so April pilots the van and smashes it into Complete Carnage! The crash sends Carnage through a wall, but he quickly reemerges and knocks Radical unconscious and then flies off with her. April and the TMNT give chase in the van.
Later, Complete Carnage has imprisoned Radical in a cement mixer inside an old factory. The villain plans to seal Radical inside a concrete block and then absorb her powers through it, but before he can begin the process, the Turtles arrive and save the super heroine. A battle ensues, and Carnage uses his ability to pass through walls to good effect, dishing out punishment without receiving any. Eventually CC grabs Radical from behind, but the woman catches the villain's arm and rips it off! Radical then flies to a park (so Carnage can't reabsorb his arm through the concrete floor) and hides it in some bushes. CC is hot on her heels and lands behind her, demanding his appendage back. The TMNT arrive and the fight is renewed. Finally, Radical uses her "particle beam power" and charges Complete Carnage - a huge explosion rips the air, and both super-powered beings are apparently obliterated - only small cement chips remain.
The TMNT gather the remaining shards of Complete Carnage and mail them all over the country to try to prevent the monster from regenerating.
In the final panels, we see Carnage's arm come to life. It crawls to the highway, where it attempts to hitchhike across the country, in hopes of rejoining its body.

Mr. Marlin is hunting big game in Africa. The man is charged by a bull elephant, but he calmly shoots it dead in its tracks. One of his underlings congratulates the hunter for killing the last Madagascan Blue Elephant. Marlin orders his employee to make plans to have the body sent to a prepared trophy room. The hunter then boards a helicopter and complains that he's tired of the "usual" big game - that he needs to hunt something more "exotic". As he speaks, Marlin is reading a newspaper clipping reporting sightings of a huge alligator. The hunter tells his servant to make arrangements for him to fly to New York City. As the helicopter veers off into the distance, an armed man grasps the discarded article and shakes his fist and the craft, vowing that he won't fail to catch Marlin again.
Meanwhile, the Turtles are battling the Foot. The Clan members soon retreat and the Turtles head for home - on their journey, they are spied upon from the waters of the sewer by two very large eyes.
Marlin has arrived in New York City. The hunter and two of his lackies make their way into the sewer. The man pursuing them is not far behind, and he vows that this will be Marlin's last safari.
Almost immediately, Marlin and his men stumble into the Turtles. The hunter is surprised, but he acts quickly, firing at the Turtles in hopes of making them trophies. The Turtles escape by swimming through the sewers, but when they emerge, they're facing a large group of Foot Soldiers. As the battle rages on, Mikey finds a secret door in the sewer wall. The Turtles head for the escape route as Marlin begins firing his rifle into the melee. Inside the secret door, the Turtles find an apartment with a laboratory - and stranger yet, there are machine components lying around from the T.C.R.I. building. Don wonders if an Utrom is living here, but Raph is doubtful. Suddenly, Marlin breaks through the wall and points his gun at the TMNT. As he menaces our heroes, the hunter gloats about what fine trophies the Turtles will make. Suddenly a huge alligator-man attacks! Leatherhead grabs Marlin and the man faints!
As the group heads for safety, Leatherhead explains that he was an ordinary gator that had been flushed into the sewers long ago, and that he had been found by the Utroms. The aliens took him to their lab, where he was accidentally exposed to Mutagen and took on his new form. The Utroms accepted responsibility for the error, and took Leatherhead in as one of their own. Since the T.C.R.I. building was destroyed (TMNT #7), Leatherhead has been working on his own to try to contact the aliens, in hopes that they'll return and take him with them to their world, where he can live in peace. The group emerges into a huge cavern, a bridge spanning its gap. The hunter surprises them again, running up from behind, gun in hand. Leatherhead tells the Turtles to make a break for the bridge. Leatherhead uses his tail to break the bridge in half, separating the Turtles from the hunter by the length of the crevice. The plan works for the most part, but the gator is forced to cling to broken bridge on the other side of Marlin, which gives him a clean shot at all of the mutants as the Turtles struggle to save their new friend.
Before Marlin can fire his gun, a thrown knife stabs into his trigger hand - and the man that has been chasing the hunter reveals himself. The fellow explains that he' a representative of all the animals that Marlin has slain, and that he's come to arrest him for his crimes. Marlin recoils at the thought of being caged like an animal and backs away from the lawman. The hunter gets too close to the edge and stumbles, falling into the pit below.
The lawman stares in stunned silence at the mutants across the gap, and Leo announces that it's time to go home.
The Turtles lead Leatherhead to their old lair in the sewer, a place where the gator can continue his work in safety.

April, Raph and Mike are visiting a local history museum and admiring the dinosaur relics, when one of the exhibit's bones begin to swirl and converge - forming the bony but familiar face of Savanti Romero (from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #8)! Savanti explains that he's using sorcery to communicate through the eons, and that he plans to destroy the Turtles - but he offers them a chance to save themselves - if they'll meet him at the "Ring of Fire." The Turtles are confused as to what this means, but before any explanation is offered, the bones collapse into a heap on the floor.
Later, at April's apartment, the TMNT decide they'll have to travel back to the Cretaceous Era to fight Savanti - obviously banning him to the distant past wasn't good enough. Don explains that the Ring of Fire was a volcanic chain that includes Japan - but their problem will be finding the correct date and time to meet Romero there.
On cue, the air is disturbed by cosmic energy and Renet appears. She explains that Lord Simultaneous has sent her to help the TMNT against Savanti as her "final exam" to graduate from being an Apprentice Timestress to getting into the Temporal Infraction Explicator First Grade. After a brief and confusing talk about the anomalies of time travel, the TMNT decide to go with Renet to the Cretaceous Era to battle Savanti Romero. April stays behind to make Master Splinter some sashimi (and because she has no interest in fighting wizards or traveling through time).
Renet takes the guys back to the land that time forgot. The guys admire the dinosaurs and scenery, but are soon set upon by a pack of Deinonychus. Before a fight breaks out, Savanti Romero appears on the back of Tyrannosaur that takes a bite at Renet - but Leo saves her. A battle erupts between Turtle, sorcerer and dinosaur. Leo "pilots" a Triceratops and it kills Romero's T-Rex. Savanti hops aboard a pterodactyl and makes his escape - but before departing, the beast swoops down and grabs Renet!
The TMNT hack their way through the jungle in pursuit, and eventually come to a lake. A huge bone structure has been magically assembled by Romero, forming a ring at its peak. Savanti is there with Renet, who is tied inside the circular opening at the top. The Turtles scale the bone architecture and face off with Romero. Savanti gloats that he already has Renet and the Time Scepter and tells the Turtles to surrender - the guys, of course, refuse. Romero then goes on to explain that in ten minutes a bolt of cosmic energy is going to shred the atmosphere above them and pass through the Scepter and the circular hole in the bone structure (incinerating Renet in the process). The blast will open a hole in the earth below that will unleash the molten core of the planet and result in the volcanic eruption of the entire Ring of Fire. A process that will slow the Earth's revolution around the sun ever so slightly, but enough to change the planet's course through space. This slight change will cause the gigantic, dinosaur-killing meteor that slammed into the planet to miss entirely - thus altering the future of the world and ensuring that the rise of mammals (and Mutant Turtles) will never happen.
Savanti then uses his magic to build himself a bone exo-skeleton. Once he's super-sized, Romero attacks the TMNT. While Raph, Mike and Don battle Savanti, Leo frees Renet and then goes after the Scepter. Savanti spots Leo and chases after him, forcing Leonardo to give up his attempt to retrieve the rod. Romero lovingly grasps the Time Scepter, just as the bolt of cosmic energy crashes down from the heavens. The force of the bolt fries Savanti and the rod. The charred body of the sorcerer falls into the sea far below, with the Scepter in his paw. With the wizard apparently dead, the sorcery that held the bone tower together gives way and it begins to fall apart - thus the wizard's plan to alter the future ultimately fails. Our heroes make their escape in the nick of time, as the structure collapses into the ocean! The big problem now - without the Time Scepter, the TMNT and Renet are trapped in prehistoric times!
Three months later, Raph, Renet, Leo and Don return to their camp with a gigantic fish to fry. Mike guts the fish and inside they find the Time Scepter! After they cook up the fish, the heroes can finally return to their own home - and time!
