Set Description:

This is the book that started it all. Back during a time where I wasn't really a comic book reader nor collector, I was into sports cards. One particular set of "non" sports cards came out depicting the characters of Marvel comics. The set included a section of books that were key to collecting and in that set was this book. I was interested on the cover alone that "called" to me. Shortly later the comic boom came to our area including stands from collectors and stores alike setting up shop at our local flea market. And there it was. The card said it's value was $30, but the vendor was giving me a deal at $15. I had to beg the money from my grandmother. She let me know that I owed her every penny and even though I paid back every penny - it was well worth it. I consider this book the one that started it all.

I bought another copy at Big Apple Comicon in 2010, the original is a little beat up, but still in my safe. I was seeking getting this book graded. Considering my luck grading books that were personal to me (see Giant Size X-Men 1 and Incredible Hulk 181), to buy a second copy was more in my price range over Wolverine's first and second appearances.

On October 14, 2011, I attempted to take this second copy to get signed by Frank Miller at NYCC. I wasn't one of the lucky few, but got the book graded, without the autograph.. Maybe I will try my luck again in the future.
