The Comic first, I got a raw one of these off ebay both quick and painlessly. Ended up not going close to my final bid so happy days with this one. Loved how Marvel started doing this Deadpool breaks into other comics cover crash variant set with all of the Marvel Now launchings.
As for the Original Art on the reverse page, this one was a quick pick up from Mr. Tom Fleming from fan-fare sports and entertainment. Page Numer 9 depicting an almost come with me if you want to live type of page. It’s specifically the first time Cyclops truly states that he knows he did wrong for his people and am now ready to atone for it and was a page that was quite honestly right down my alley as far as cost. While I would have loved to own the page where the new mutant Tempest unleashes her new found power that page was quickly scooped up the day it was released and well the early bird gets the worm right?

This one has quite a few actually. In total there were 55 attempts at getting this one graded with a grand total of 34 including mine earning the coveted 9.8 grade and 4 of those having maintained there 9.8 status after being signed gaining the coveted 9.8SS status.
Story Title: “What Happens Now?”
MY TYPE OF SUMMARY:
I’ll wait until I get a first printing of this one before I post a full on summary of what happens here. Basic gist, never listen to Iceman’s idea Beast. He’s basically a jacked Frosty the Snow Man without the magic hat.

PERSONAL COMMENTS:
This one is awesome and yet shows the love for the art and not the grade. While I will continue to submit commissioned art for this sketch variant slot for that coveted 9.8 SS sketch by someone amazing I am really excited to finally get this one in hand.
For starters the artist, Danny Cruz is by far one of the most talented detail oriented artists I have ever seen. A simple search of his CAF uploads or even on his deviantart page would show numerous covers he’s done for others and quite honestly for the price he is a can’t miss. As for this copy this is one of 5 connecting covers which span this issue, Cable and X-Force, Uncanny X-Force, Uncanny X-Men, and X-Men, with characters from each of the corresponding issues from Marvel Nows relaunch.
As for the grade I completely understand why it went from a 9.8 possible cover sent in the mail to receiving an 8.0 grade upon receival. While all of the corners are sharp, great spine, and a flawless interior the notes specifically denote the deduction for the quite large size white-out spill and ink spills as shown on the back cover image. Truly a shame but yet understandable. Again this is why when I purchased this set I was truly more worried about the art that Cruz could put out rather than the actual condition received in. I will have to find a way to be able to get all of the interconnecting covers and show case what the entire set looks like interlinked with one another.

Danny Cruz Cover – It’s a Sketch cover variant so really any one could be the cover artist I guess.
SO K HOW MANY ARE THERE
Going simply with the sketch variant this one is an OAK…. Yeah not really the OAK many look for but at 8.0 this is the sole one out there. As for total with sketch variants there are a total of 61 of these Blank Variants graded with 55 of them having some type of signature or something or other on them. Oddly enough and I still don’t and probably never will understand this, there are currently 6 Plain Jane ones out there.

This being a second printing there are fewer here than anywhere else. This is more along the lines for those completionist collectors like myself. In total for the second printing, there are 5 total that have been graded including mine and all have obtained the coveted 9.8 grading.

MY TYPE OF SUMMARY:
This being a second printing once a first is thrown in the collection I will throw up a full on summary there. Until then X-Men fight Old people X-Men. This being a third printing there are fewer here than even on the second printing. The definition of a completioinist is one who would collect this issue. In total for the third printing, there are 4 total that have been graded including mine and all have obtained the coveted 9.8 grading.

This being a third printing the same excuse as with the second pretty much stands here. Once a first is thrown in the collection I will throw up a full on summary there. PERSONAL COMMENTS:
Being a completioinist on the boards here it does send an odd message to Marvel and others that while I will never crack a third or even eight printing I am still willing to buy it just because it completes a set. Seeing these and the regular issues still readily stocked at my LCS it does tend to make me wonder if Marvel and DC are simply out to fisk those of us like me out of every possible dollar all for the sake of slabbing something that quite honestly will go into a box in a storage locker/closet or something like it. I don’t see many of us ever posting oh wow look at my 6th printing of All New X-Men I hung it up. Nor do I ever see anyone ever putting much emphasis on these are more valuable or more sought after simply due to there dwindling numbers.
I collect these additional printings solely for completion sake and do so with an odd sense of enjoyment but I will have to say once complete with this, Avengers vs X-Men, and other X-Force related titles I’m gonna hang up the completionist cape and simply go for what’s first printed and the associated variants that are released at the same time. Might save me a few extra bucks for some of those more highly sought after Silver agers out there.
Oh and this one is the third printing of an issue that really wasn’t all that special…

Another second printing and another low grading count. Currently only 7 of these graded with all currently being 9.8. Maybe I will have to go out on a limb and get some of these second and third printings signed by Stuart Immonen or Brian Bendis later on.

Nothing much to say about this one especially not until I get the first printing. Until then this one was a pretty straight forward second printing with a different color bottom border I guess. Once I get the first printing up I will simply state to check out that summary.

There is something about the Variant covers that I love to look at and simply make them much more appealing than there standard regular counterpart. I do have to say I wish they would have cut down the size of the Giant All New X-Men in the Background.
As for the Reverse photo, yep I am the proud owner of the reveal page of Beasts new look. While its not his first appearance of his Beast fur look it is the closest thing I could ever pick-up for the cost. I certainly have to send a thank you to Mr. Tom Fleming of Fan-Fare SE for this one. Cannot wait to get this one back from Hobby Lobby in a few weeks and hang it proudly in the Man cave.

Not to many with this one and now that I have this one graded and ready to go it’s time to crack and get it signed. Anyways total there are 13 that have been graded with 10 having achieved the 9.8 status to include mine with a single OAK that has been signed.
Story Title: “What Happens Now?”
MY TYPE OF SUMMARY:
The “Variant”, everything that happened in the first printing happened in the second and was copied for the third and now featured in the Variant. So yeah… Beast changed, Jean learns she dies a few times, loses her mind and I truly wish Beasts favorite outfit would have been the Madelyne Pryor one. Additionally they vote to stay and Jean tells Scott to go %$^& himself in some much kinder words.

Another additional printing collected for the old completionist mentality. One of these days I’m gonna stop doing it but for now I believe this Set, Avengers vs X-Men, and Cable and X-Force will be the last multi-print run I go for, for now. I know it makes my Sets look that much more completed but it isn’t exactly helping me when it comes to budgeting for others.

PERSONAL COMMENTS:
A pretty cool issue and one I wish they would explore a little more. I mean what is soooo bad about telling Angel he eventually loses his wings, becomes a science experiment by a huge villain, and the kid he’s been hanging out with is actually the reincarnation of that guy. Not to mention because of everything he basically loses his mind from time to time and believes he’s the Angel of Death. I mean the bright side would be telling him he hooked up with Psylocke A WHOLE LOT… I mean maybe I’m talking out my rear but I would say that trade off was worth it…
Just Saying…
As for the OA, while I may not be the biggest Thor fan in the world I can still appreciate a half page splash of him and his hammer. Love Marquez's run through this series.

So... A grand total of 23 of these have been graded with 22 obtaining the 9.8 grade as well as 3 lonely boys keeping the 9.8 when being signed. Of this I currently own 1 of the 9.8’s and 1 of the 9.8SS’s and am really looking forward to getting the 9.8SS back some time soon as it has a special message brought to us by David Marquez.
Story Title: Another with no title, so how about? “Why are there two of you?”
MY TYPE OF SUMMARY:
Ok, so young Angel meets crazy old Angel and they go off on a flying babbling trip. Young Angel gets no clear answers why he becomes crazy nor why he has metal wings now. The Hydra decides to attack the Avengers but in the hopes of attacking an empty building believe they will easily win the battle. In come the Angels and as Madam Hydra points out, she really needs to recruit better as the entire team is getting its ass handed to them by two guys whose sole special power is flying around in circles…
So they defend the Avengers tower long enough and the Avengers finally show up and conduct a good clean-up of the area realizing there are two Angels. Following this encounter the Avengers fly to visit the Wolverine school for higher stabbing and decide to talk to Beast. Kitty Pride and Iceman have a little fun with the conversation but for the most part its pretty straight forward.
Next Young Angel tries to get the time machine working as someone has finally realized its stupid to be there in the future. Jean tells Angel telepathically they need to go eat a sandwich or something and that’s it…
An interesting story in a way but mostly because Bendis is an awesome writer.
