Thanks for looking at my Neal Adams set. As of 10/14, this set contained about 180 books and it is a Do-It-Yourself’er as a large percentage of these books have not been graded. Almost 2/3 (117 books) of this set have 0 (79) or just 1 (38) book graded per the CGC census. Only 24 books in this set have more than 5 copies graded (yes – I had waaaaaay too much time on my hands when I looked into this!). Even though Neal Adams is a legendary, popular and influential creator, this has not translated into CGC love for this set, which covers decades and contains dozens of fantastic covers.
I have been an Adams fan for more than 20 years and finding these books in high grade is challenging. I have submitted most of these books raw to CGC due to their CGC scarcity.
The books in this set I have purchased already CGC graded are: Emergency 2, Grimm Fairy Tales 100, Ironjaw 1, Mankind - The Story of All of Us Convention Edition, Mark Steel 1968, Planet of Vampires 1, Six Million Dollar Man (Charlton Magazine) 1 and 2, Thrilling Adventure Stories 2, Valeria (Continuity) 1 Variant, Unity 1 Adams variant and Zero Patrol 1. I am quickly running out of 9.6/9.8 copies from my collection to submit and will probably start submitting lower grades to try to complete the set.
