Set Description
A Marvel Tales by any other name would be a Marvel Collectors’ Item Classic. Yes, these books, which commence a year later in time, do exactly what the Marvel Tales title does, which is reprint issues of classic titles, which originally hit the newsstands a few years earlier.
Most of my books in both titles came from the auction of the Federal Hill Collection on CL. But while I was able to obtain a number of the Marvel Tales from that collection, some collector/speculator out there coveted these books much more than the Marvel Tales title, so that I lost most of the books from this set in the auction.
In fact, as of the time that I am writing this description, I have just three books from this title. Fortunately, two of them are the first two issues. These books were part of the Federal Hill Collection and I had hoped to buy more, but after I got the first two, someone started paying much more per book than they ever merited in my mind. After all, they are still reprints. Nonetheless, we may try to pick up some more issues in the future, when prices are more favorable. But for the time being, you could hardly call our few books a set.
