Set Description
Synopsis: This collection contains high-grade examples of all 23 books in this set. Eighteen of our books are 9.8s and 21 are highest graded examples in the census. A perfect score in this set under the current census would be 20,085, so this set is 97.6% there.
Background: This set has a ways to go, the books are inexpensive, but hard to find in high grade. The highlights of this set are the three Showcases in highest grade and the single highest graded Spectre #1 as of 1/2020.
2022 Update: For some reason, I’m not sure why, the books have gotten more expensive of late, but we have still managed to find most of the missing books over the last couple of years since I wrote the summary above. We now have 22 of the 23 books in this set with the lowest grade being a 9.6. Nineteen of our books sit atop the census, but as of February 2022, only our Showcase #61 remains a single highest graded example.
Edited to add: We finally completed this set in March 2022 when we acquired a 9.8 copy of Adventure #437! I’m not sure these books will ever be that valuable, but still feel a sense of accomplishment in find them all, as these were bought pretty much one at a time.
