Issue 76 is widely considered to be the first true Bronze Age DC comic, and it features the start of the acclaimed Neal Adams Green Lantern/Green Arrow series, commonly regarded as one of the finest comic book runs of the 1970s. Writer Denny O'Neill and artist Adams produced a string of gritty, street-level socially relevant stories with Adams supplying the dynamic, superbly illustrated art.
This copy is one of just two 9.8s topping the census. I acquired it many years ago in a galaxy far away, I know not where, I just remember it was expensive. Once again, I am attaching a copy of the 9.6 I owned that this book replaced in my collection, but a scan of the 9.8 is to come.

Issue #79 has always been a rare and popular cover. This WP beauty is one of only two highest graded and was purchased in the November 21, 2013 Heritage auction.
The story itself features a fight between the ownership of Western land between a couple of white and Native Americans, in which Green Lantern, Green Arrow and Black Canary becomes embroiled. Again, it is another GL issue that deals with current issues rather than space fantasies.

Issue #80 features a Guardians of the Universe appearance-not to be confused with the Guardians of the Galaxy, nobody ever said DC and Marvel did not steal from each other. This copy is one of ten 9.8s, so they are not rare.

Although perspectives have changed, when this issue was published the drug cover and story were largely taboo subject material for the times. 9.8s of this issue are plentiful, but this WP copy is from the Pacific Coast Collection, which does set it apart a little. Acquired In the 3/13/2012 CL auction.

Issue #88 features a previously unpublished Golden Age GL story. Hailing from the Rocky Mountain Collection, this book acquired in the 8/29/2011 CL auction. It looks like a 9.8 to me, but I will probably try to grab one if the opportunity arises.

Issue #89 is the last issue of this book for four years and thus marks the logical end of this set. Unlike some later issues, there is a huge population of 9.8s, so you will have no problem finding one. This book has WP and was acquired in the August 2011 CL auction.
