In October of 2015, John Mattaboni "slogged a Diamond box full" of Divinity #1's to NYCC, where he had 17 copies signed by writer Matt Kindt, colorist Dave Baron, and inker Ryan Winn. All 17 copies graded 9.8. I had previously obtained a CGC 9.8 copy as part of a large trade deal, which was signed by Matt Kindt. However, John contacted me in January of 2016 and we made a solid trade deal that allowed me to upgrade to the Triple-Signed copy that now is part of this set.

In October of 2015, I had witer Matt Kindt sign my copy of this book at NYCC, and it was submitted to CGC for grading unlimatly recieving a grade of 9.6 (presently the highest graded CGC Signature Series copy of this book). I contacted Ed Guthrie who is a well known collector in his own right, who made this copy availible to me as part of a trade. Perhaps (in my opinion) the least visually stunning cover of the Divinity series. I contacted Aaron Michael Schrom (eBay seller turtleman402) who buys/sells a high monthly volume of comics, and requested a CGC 9.8 copy (since I knew he would have one). Not long after, a member of the Valiant Fans comunity was selling this CGC 9.8 Signature Series copy, signed by colorist David Barron, which I purchased without delay. Hairsine's interior page art is featured for the cover of Divinity #1 (Hairsine Variant Cover) behind the color scheme. The cover design is actually by artist Tom Muller, and features Hairsine's artwork which appears to come from a number of interior pages actually, however the most visibly prominant page art is from Page #3 which is pictured below.

It has been CONFIRMED by former Valiant Entertainment CEO, Dinesh Shamdasani (who is also the owner of LaRosa's original cover art pictured below), that 350 copies were printed.This is the MOST sought after variant of the series, featuring the 1st appearance of Divinity on the cover, drawn by the co-creator who designed the character. A coleague of mine was able to obtain the only CGC 9.9 copy, and after a few years, he was kind enough to contact me and subsequently make it availible for purchase. A deal was made for an undisclosed amount, and I was finally able to add this increadible gem to this award-winning Registry Set.

While building this set, it was clear that a CGC Sketch (ideally graded 9.8+) would be vital to achieving the most competitive set possible. I also own a (Universal) CGC 9.8 copy that covered as a temporary placeholder, so I contacted my friend & art-dealer "Sonic" Dan Moler who represents Adam Gorham for commissions & art sales. I own Adam's original cover art for Dead Drop #1 (Cover B), so the relationship was already in-place. Adam agreed to the project, & Doug Peters from ComicSketchArt facilitated everything else. Series writer Matt Kindt signed directly under Adam's artwork, which enhances this solid presentation. The result was a fantastic addition to this set, & also my collection. Early in 2016 it was announced that Adam would create a cover for each issue of Divinity II. Adam's original cover art for Divinity II #1 is pictured below (courtesy of Sonic Dan).

In October of 2015, I screened multiple copies of this book for a good 9.8 candidate for a Signature Series submission at NYCC '15. However, things did not go exactly as planned, and the book recieved a grade of CGC 9.6 (I will send to CCS for a press and resubmission to CGC later this Spring). I then contacted Stephen Jadie Coates (eBay seller hickorycanyon) who is a well-known Valiant Fan and Collector (his Divinity Set can be found HERE), and requested a CGC 9.8 copy (as we frequently buy/sell/trade with each other) which is presently included in this set. I submitted this book as the Fall/Winter of 2015. Early in January of 2015, before the first issue even was availible, a Candian collector and board member of the Valiant Fans community named Ben Watson (who I have done buisness with from time to time) was able to purchase the original cover art. As Diego Bernard's art is typically sold for very reasonable prices by his art representitive, Court Gebeau at Comic Con Art, it is likely that this incredible deal (in hindsight) was a complete steal! This is the highest graded Signature Series copy; one of only two known CGC 9.8 Signature Series copies in the Census (this one, and a second copy which I sold in Feb of 2016) that were signed by writer Matt Kindt at NYCC '15 and submitted by Doug Peters from ComicSketchArt. In 2015 I was contacted by artist Lewis LaRosa and offered the opportunity to purchase his original cover art for this book (for a crazy-low price by the way...). I declined the offer, and instead focused on several other art pieces he had at the same time. Later in 2015, I contacted the owner of this art offering to buy; however, the owner was not willing to sell at that time. Artist Lewis LaRosa's original cover art is pictured below.
