My breakdown of issue 1
Writer Greg Rucka starts off issue one with an amazing story for the first arc called "The Lies Part One" and artist Liam Roger Sharp has done wonders for the story with his detailed art and coloring.
Issue one is two different stories both taking place in the country of Bwunda. We find Steve Trevor in a military operation that is being directed by Commander Etta Candy via satellite out of Langley Virginia. Steve is on a mission to find and apprehend a group of men terrorizing the country lead by a person named Cadulo who is on a murdering spree and kidnapping the woman from local villages. When Commander Candy discovers that Wonder Woman has been spotted within the country she accuses Steve of compromising security and asked if he told Wonder Woman, Steve denies doing so.
The second part of the story has Wonder Woman within Bwunda calling out to the jungle to an unknown person saying she will have the truth and nothing makes sense and is here to talk. Throughout the issue Wonder Woman says she will give three chances but is repeatedly attacked by werewolf looking creatures. After each successful battle Wonder Woman asks to be faced and listened to, finally at the end of the issue she is attacked on last time to find Cheetah on top of her. Wonder Woman says, “…Themyscira! I can’t find it, I can’t Find my way home. Barbara Ann, Please help me find my way back home.”
This was an amazing way to start off the first issue in DC’s rebirth for Wonder Woman. A few changes have been made such as Steve Trevor isn’t an Army Colonel but a Navy Master Chief. And Commander Etta Candy is now a slightly overweight African American military commander for A.R.G.U.S. Originally back in the Golden age of Wonder Woman Etta Candy was a young college student, Caucasian, extremely short and grossly overweight.
All in all I REALLY enjoyed this issue, especially with Greg Rucka writing it, keep in mind his last work on Wonder Woman was 10 years ago in Wonder Woman (Volume 2) #226. It should also be noted that this issues story arc will be featured in the odd number issues while the even numbered issue will contain a separate story line. This was done so that the two separate artists could make the 1 month deadlines to get the issue completed verses every two weeks since the issue is bi monthly.

My breakdown of issue 2
Issue two starts off a new story arc called Year One Part One and the entire issue takes place possibly over the course of a year hence its title, but no definite description is given to the lengths of time passing for two different stories within this issue. One story is centered on Wonder Woman before leaving Themyscira and the other is with Steve Trevor.
Let’s start off with Steve Trevor’s storyline; his story starts off on a mission making friends with a fellow soldier named Nick. As time passes they start being close friends double dating and partying. Before long Nick gets married, then we Steve holding Nicks newborn daughter as the Godfather for Nick and his wife. Eventually more time passes and Steve and Nick get on a military transport plane for a mission.
Parallel to Steve’s timeline throughout the issue is Diana of Themyscira and her story unfolding as the Princess to the Queen excelling in her studies and combat. We see her in this story coming upon a mysterious tree she’s never seen before (this important to future story lines) and bitten by a snake from it. She gets mysteriously sick and over time mysteriously heals back. During one evening of lessons on astronomy she discovers a Nova then notices a ball of fire crashing to the beach of the island. As the Amazonians rush to scene, they find the wreckage of a plane crash with all but one of members including Nick dead; the sole survivor of course is Steve Trevor as he is badly injured and asking for help.
Greg Rucka’s story telling is amazing and a great way to start off the arc with a flash back of the origin story of Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor meeting. The art for me was hit and miss, some panels had been done very well with great detail, while others had been lacking. The coloring I feel could have been slightly better.
One Quote from this issue I rather enjoyed was by Wonder Woman, “I can see the beauty of the heavens, I can see the poetry in their motion. But all we do is bear witness. All of you remember before, Kasia. You can recall the world you left, even if the memories of it bring you pain. I've never seen what lies beyond our shores. Do you really wonder why my eye goes to the horizon instead of the skies?” I feel that this really sums up the story being told about Diana in this issue.

My breakdown of issue 3
Issue 3 returns to Bwunda, The Lies Part Two story arc with a continuation of Steve and his soldiers tracking down Colonel Cadulo deep in the jungle what appears to be the home for Urzkartaga along with the missing villagers caged in what appears to be as a sacrifice or/and food for Urzkartaga and Steve is ready to set them free.
Wonder Woman is asking Barbara Ann (Cheetah) for help in finding Themyscira, yet Cheetah is reluctant and blames Wonder Woman for being what she is. Wonder Woman Reminders her that it’s her fault and she made her own decisions and even tried to stop Barbara from becoming Cheetah. After the two run from Urzkartaga and his minions, Cheetah agrees to help Wonder Woman on the condition that Wonder Woman kills Urzkartaga to help set her free from her curse, Wonder Woman gives her word and the story concludes.
Again the issues storytelling, art and inking are amazing and I love how even though Cheetah cries and complains about her condition about always being hungry, Wonder Woman reminds her that she is a woman and to be strong and she’s a friend that will get her help. You feel for Cheetah’s plight and want to just keep reading more!

My breakdown of issue 4
Story arc Year One Part Two takes off with a story we all know so well already. We are in Themyscira with the Amazons helping with Steve Trevor’s recovery, The Amazons try to decipher the meaning of the Gods for bringing a man to their island paradise and who will return him?
We see within the story the games in the arena of Amazons fighting for a champion that befalls to Princess Diana. They repair Steve’s plane and makes it invisible for safety while Diana emerges in her new outfit and given the golden lasso of truth to carry with her. Diana says her goodbye’s and departs for the world of men.
This issue was ok, I understand how it was needed to be printed in this volumes reboot of Wonder Woman but we have read it, seen it and know about it already for a long time. Mostly this issue seemed to be more of a filler issue, but understandable why they printed it. Nothing about this issue really stuck out or strikes a cord with me except maybe the panels talking about Steve’s Navy Seal patch and how it has Poseidon’s Trident in the eagle’s talons while the eagles head is bowed down as a symbol of how we don’t look for war but are ready for it when needed, similar to the symbolism of the eagle on the one dollar bill.

Synopsis: Steve Trevor finds himself trapped in the heart of Urzkartaga's darkness, with Wonder Woman and Cheetah the only hope of rescue for him and his men. But how far can Cheetah be trusted?
Notes: Sasha refers to Trevor as "Master Chief". This is a serious error, either by her, or by the writer. Master Chief is an enlisted rank in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard. To be called this, Trevor, a Colonel by most other accounts, would have to change services and take a huge demotion.

My breakdown of issue 5
Issue 5 has a lot going on in it and is the first we start seeing a more complicated story line with many ends connecting together.
We see Commander Etta Candy going to the home of Director Sasha Bordeaux to asses her of the situation in Bwunda and Steve and his men are missing. Towards the end we see Sasha what appears to be possessed and is the vessel to communicate with someone called Doctor that is looking to capture Wonder Woman.
Steve is a hostage to Colonel Cadulo who is planning to be the avatar for Bouda by making Steve the vessel of his transformation. Cadulo also is intent to find out Steve’s connection to Wonder Woman as well.
Wonder Woman and Cheetah wake their way through the jungle to the home of Bouda and find Steve’s men caged, naturally the issue ends with Wonder Woman asking, “Where is Steve?”
Lots of great dialogue in this issue and I must also point out that Wonder Woman is not only concerned with finding her way back to Themyscira but that she feels other things seem wrong within her memory, as if she has been deceived and that deception grows. Looks like a lot of great story telling is about to take place real soon…

The Gods of Olympus appear to Wonder Woman as the following animals:

My breakdown of issue 6
This issue I felt was a fun read. Diana and Steve fly into and crash the plane on the beach in California and they find their way to The Naval Base in Coronado. Once on the base Steve is examined and is found in better health then when he left to include a new appendix that he had removed as a kid. Diana who doesn’t speak English is pretty much treated as a criminal and is finger printed, photo graphed and locked up behind bars and Lieutenant Etta Candy has her weapons examined and linguistics met with Diana to figure out a way to communicate with her. Finally a Dr. Perez semi talks to Diana that finds out Diana was visited in the night by the patron gods as animals that bestowed gifts on her, one being strength as Diana ripped the metal bars off her jail cell.
Lots of great reading in here to enjoy but if you look closely you’ll notice the patron gods in the form of animals hiding within different panels throughout the issue. You’ll also find that the mug shot picture taken is the same picture Steve had on his person in the future from last issue.

My breakdown of issue 7
This was a quick and easy read, basically back in Bwunda with the lair of Urzkartaga Wonder Woman frees the hostages and Steve from Cadulo. Wonder Woman has a fight with Urzkartaga who in turn was defeated when Cheetah used Wonder Woman’s lasso along with the other female prisoners to form a circle around Urzkartaga. When Urzkartaga was defeted he basically turned into a plant that was re growing for what I assume to eventually one day be his rebirth. Cadulo was killed in the attack and the issue ends with Cheetah transforming back into Barbara Ann with some noticeable mental issues was being held by Wonder Woman while stuttering how everything she did, everything Urzkartaga made her do had all been lies.
Only thing about this issue that I didn’t like was that we got 19 pages of story and 13 pages of advertisements, way too many ads in this...
