This Signature Series copy of Captain America #7 is my first Signature Series Cap. In a very oddly ironic way, it also holds a special place for me in my heart and in my comic collection. I had purchased it prior to Joe Simon's passing and unknown to me, the day it arrived, was also the same day the news of Joe's passing had been made public, just two hours before I held the book in my hands. It was within an hour of the books arrival that I learned of Joe's passing. My heart just dropped. It was the strangest mix of emotions (comic book related, that is),to pass over me in an hours time. First I was so elated to possess this beautiful comic with the signature of it's characters co-creator on the front cover!! Secondly, within the space of an hour, I was overwhelmed with grief at the news of the loss of this unbelievably talented man. Joe Simon is one of the most underrated comic artists, writers and creators of the Golden Age!! His contributions will live on in popular culture till the end of time!! To this day I cherish this copy and see no way it will ever leave my collection.

Having known of this copies whereabouts and the fact that it was indeed for sale, the day I heard of Joe Simons passing (The same day that my Signature Series Joe Simon signed Captain America #7 arrived), I made a call and purchased this book. I was very pleased to have not only the signature of Joe Simon (Captain Americas co-creator), but the signature of (The grandfather of all of Timely/Atlas/Marvel Comics), Stan (The Man) Lee!!! This issues CLASSIC Red Skull cover is highly sought after by Timely collectors and classic cover collectors alike!! This unique copy is the only one in Signature Series existence to bear the autographs of these two highly talented men.
