Marvel Tales #3 is still a 25-cent issue, but took a new form of the covers from four books, which were reprinted inside. In this case, the four books were ASM #6, JIM #84, TTA #38, and ST #101. While Marvel Tales started off as an annual, Issue #4 came out in September 1966, just two months after Issue #3. This issue has the same cover that graced Issue # 3 and will grace subsequent issues until issue #11, that of four covers from ASM, JIM. ST, and TTA. In this case, the featured reprints were ASM #7, JIM #86, ST #102 and TTA #39, which originally hits the newsstands in 1962-1963. Thus, these books are in many cases not much younger than the issues they reprint.
Our WP 9.6 is tied for second highest graded trailing a paid of 9.8s. We opted for it over the Federal Hill copy, which was another 9.6, for the WP. We acquired it off an E-Bay listing on 4/30/2021. It use to be that E-Bay listings were the most expensive buying option, but with a recent influx of speculators in the comics market, we have found that such listings are now frequently cheaper that auctions, which seem to be the preferable buying option for all the new money flooding the comic market. As far as comic collecting, we live in interesting times.

Issue #14 features a reprint of Spidey #19, of which we also own a 9.6. 9.6 is not highest graded copy in either, but this one was at least relatively cheap-if you can say that about anything that cost 100 times more than its original price. Our book is tied for second highest graded trailing a single 9.8.
We started off just buying 9.8s in this title. But when KingFisher started selling his heralded collection, which was dubbed the Federal Hill Collection by ComicLink, we decided to get what we could since, if better copies were readily available, he would have probably found them.
In some ways, buying someone else’s collection seems like cheating, and indeed we never got his entire collection of any title, but we did go after his books aggressively over the past year or two as Josh slowly put them on the auction block. We acquired this book from the 4/28/2021 CL Auction.
