There are other first appearances that are more valuable and, perhaps, desirable but this is one of my favorite books in the collection.
Astonishing Tales 6 has the 1st appearance of Barbara Morse AKA Mockingbird. Dr Morse makes a somewhat muted 1st appearance here, showing up at Ka-Zar's mansion and looking for him. It would turn out she was working for SHIELD and looking for Ka-Zar to assist her with dealing with the Man Thing. Later in the series she is revealed to be Agent 19 at SHIELD and becomes Ka-Zar's girlfriend before being replaced by Shanna the She-Devil. The character would be reintroduced in Marvel Super Action 1 as the "Huntress" but, after the title was canceled after a single issue and DC introduced their own Huntress in the late 70's, Dr. Morse disappeared again until showing up, as Mockingbird, in Marvel Team-Up 95.
Mockingbird was a mainstay of the Avengers and Avengers West Coast when I begin reading those titles in the 80's so getting her first appearance here is one of my favorite gets in the collection. In addition to being a difficult book to obtain in high grade, this one is singed by Stan Lee and has a Bowling Green pedigree making it a one of kind! To top it all off we've got a great cover w Dr. Doom and Black Panther along with Ka-Zar. This book is one of my favorites in this collection for sure.
