Set Description
The comics that escaped the great pulping machine. Superheroes drinking beer, nudity, infants in microwaves, using trade marks without permission, dodgy adverts, incorrect copyright, erroneous bar-codes, pages out of sequence, age inappropriate content, swearing superheroes, wrong paper, printing anomalies, racial slurs, libelous comments against previous editors - has to be the most interesting set in the registry!

These are definitely interesting to collect with an Elseworlds 9.8 being a must-have as this rules the set with a massive 1,400 points (the nearest rival has less than a fifth of that number of points even though the DF Sketch variant of Spidey is the most valuable in the set right now). However, even with a top grade Elseworlds, it is very difficult to complete the set with many of the comics in the list having less than 20 CGC graded copies.
My own collection started around 2002 when I bought a LOEG #5 out of curiosity and then started a quest to find more of these anomalies. I believe Wolverine was the next purchase followed by Elektra then Elseworlds and the rest followed. The set has been upgraded numerous times with the latest being a very nice Elseworlds 9.8, which ends a very long quest to get a full set of 9.8's !!
There is still some scope to improve the set as not all of it is top of census (there are a few 9.9's and yellow labels out there) and I'm sure the other sets will catch up soon enough, but that is the fun of collecting!
