"The Betrayal of Mr. Morris"
Mr. Morris is a kindly generous man but when he rejects the detective agency of Jonas and Gordon's offer to protect him things start to go bad. He's nearly killed by a falling stone slab while walking with Billy Batson were it not for the timely save by Captain Marvel who later determines it was no accident. While eating lunch at a restaurant Mr. Morris spots Billy's secretary Miss. Jameson watching him intently and slips out paranoid that she may be trying to poison him. When he returns home he finds that someone has rifled through his den. He believes his butler may have been behind the search and goes to call Jonas and Gordon to seek protection. Meanwhile Billy stops by Mr. Morris's office to find Jonas and Gordon stealing from his safe. One of the villains attempt to knock Billy out but he changes to Captain Marvel and moves to punch out the crooks. Mr. Morris walks in and in his paranoia begins to think maybe he can't even trust Captain Marvel. That is until Cap turns the crooks over and cash pours out of their pockets. Cap smashes the heads of the crooks on the floor but Mr. Morris is still not convinced. Cap takes Mr. Morris to a reception hall where all his friends are waiting with a birthday surprise. Turns out everything that had happened (excluding the granite block) were because of the party preparations and Mr. Morris laughs at his own paranoia. He declares the party the happiest moment of his life.
