My breakdown of issue 21
In this issue we pick up with Wonder Woman battling Maru and her group poison. Wonder Woman gets shot a second time and with the help of Steve they defeat Maru. It is also worth pointing out that within the issue the artist forgot to draw where she got shot in issue 19, twice.
Dr. Cale with her daughter and Cheetah land on the island where they believe to be the entrance into Themyscira, and of course Wonder Woman and Steve show up to battle them. Wonder Woman’s arm where she received that snake bite from issue 2 starts to hurt and the mystical tree shows up. During the battle a drop of Wonder Woman’s blood hits the tree and its entrance appears.
Dr. Cales faceless daughter runs into the opening and Dr. Cale and Wonder Woman take pursuit after her. When they get into the tree they find the daughter with her face back as well as the God Ares in chains and this is his prison.
