Owner's Description
Wolverine. 1st appearance of Professor Power (Anthony Power). Almost the oddest Wolverine art for a cover that I've seen, and then there is that Spidey hand, in presentable 8.5. A 1st appearance that affects this Wolverine and Spidey duo appearance as well. I watched it not sell at local comic shop Awesome Comics for a while, and I figured at $30 the cost to purchase it wasn't even the cost to slab. It was at least a grade of VF+! Glad to have a Wolverine Spidey Team Up cover to boast of, when those are two characters that are the polar opposite in personality and mood. "Grumpy Cat!" A Thwip, a grunt, and this comic has "it", Bub! The sarcasm plays off and takes it to the patience is a virtue lesson, for the team up of a lifetime, which is why the art should be better; although, the 80s are full of creators and comic hires cranking out work and meeting the deadlines! Over worked and under paid, it all sounds cliche, but that was the way it was and sometimes still is, when you take what you can get! Hard work to be in the comic industry!
In Marvel Team-Up even Hostess Ads had comics inside the comics!
Complete with a back cover picture of a similar series in size and scope called Marvel Two in One. With renditions that similarly try to see what sticks, it is interesting to see the scope of Marvel at this time. Finding that "The Thing" meant a great deal back then for "clobbering time" fests! Interestingly that the price of each started at 20 cents while ending at a dollar per copy with Rising costs and varying in between.
Grader Notes:
light bends to cover;
light spine stress lines to cover.
