Marvel Super Special issue 16 featured the entire adaptation of Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back.
Story adapted by the great Archie Goodwin with art by Al Williamson and Carlos Garzon.
I have always considered this to be the BEST adaptation of any film – and the Empire Strikes Back happens to very likely be my favourite Star Wars film. Hence, this is my favourite issue of Marvel Super Special!
Of interest, Star Wars issues 39 to 45 were released after Marvel Super Special 16 (Magazine Size) and a digest sized format release too. However, there have been lots of debates about what is considered the 'original printing' of the Empire Strikes Back adaptation as a lot of collectors do not collect the magazine or digest sized comics. Hence - Star Wars issues 39 to 45 have stayed important to collectors. :)
