A man named Alec Tronn barges into Mr. Morris's office demanding $1000 an hour so WHIZ can continue broadcasting. He claims to control electrons and threatens to blackmail all radio stations. Capt Marvel shows up and tosses the man out. Cap and Morris scoff at the man's claims but later while Billy is broadcasting his mic goes dead. Alec Tronn calls again demanding a ransom. Mr. Morris calls a meeting of all the radio station owners Tron bursts in and offers electrons for 1 cent a dozen which works out to $3600 an hour. Cap arrives and gives Tronn a smack but the crook shoots off with the power of electrons. He flies all the way to his electron condenser; a device which has, "stored away most of the free electrons in the world" Um, huh? Capt. Marvel breaks into the building with the condenser but Tronn hits him with electricity changing him back to Billy Batson. Tronn is confused by the appearance of Billy and Billy's magic word fails to work. Tronn plans to kill Billy later but in the meantime grabs a switch to blow up WHIZ. Billy kicks him in the rear so Tronn responds by blasting the boy with electricity changing him back into Capt. Marvel. Tronn tries to escape but gets tangled in his machines wires and blows himself up.

"The Stolen City"
(Pencils/Inks) Pete Costanza

The story opens with Capt Marvel punching a crooked bond salesman. Meanwhile, the brains behind the scheme is lost in the woods, trying to hide when he is found by a native American. They discuss the fact that the Indians sold the land for a pittance when the crook comes up with a scheme.

Billy Batson does a report that the city he lives in was leased from the Indians and the lease, held by the mayor, is up. Indians have taken control of the city and when Cap goes on patrol they attack with arrows and primitive hatchets, apparently just for sport. He no longer has any legal control in the city any more. He's left flummoxed but for some reason an Indian chief just happens to be carrying around his own copy of the original lease.

The crook who engineered all this is going around town shaking people down, taking money for not having the Indians destroy important landmarks (no evidence that the Indians were actually going to do it). Cap recognizes the crook and punches him out. Cap reveals that he found the original SALE in an archive (not sure what it was the Indian chief had) and the Indians leave without complaint.

The music composer for WHIZ is in a surly mood. Mr Strawz wants to produce great music not music scores for a radio station. The musician finally just starts tossing his sheet music in the fire place. Meanwhile, Orpheus, the God of Music, is going mad from all the noise coming from Earth. He uses his powers to stop all sounds with all the obvious problems that would create including Billy not being able to change to Capt Marvel. Since he can't call down lightning, Billy stands in an Atom Smasher and allows the electricity to strike him. His plan works and Capt Marvel flies off to consult the Shazam gods. They direct him to Orpheus but Orpheus refuses to release his prison of silence.

Cap returns to Rohum Strawz looking for answers and Cap hands him a note saying his great song may be the only thing that can sway Orpheus. The song isn't quite finished but Cap helps complete the score. Orpheus is so thrilled by the song the he returns sound and Strawz is given the chance to play his great song on WHIZ.

8 page Captain Marvel
"The Wonderful Iron Horse"
(Pencils/Inks) Pete Costanza

A prisoner is asking a prison warden for a change of duties. The man relays a story of how he bet on a racehorse only to have the horse go wild mid race. Capt Marvel saves the jockey. The jockey had stupidly taken the advice of some stranger and used a joy buzzer to get the horse going and it backfired. The man who gave him the buzzer is also pissed that his plan didn't work and decides to create a mechanical horse. The horse looks entirely legit except made of iron. His partner tests the horse out but it takes off like a shot . Cap shows up and rescues a girl before she gets trampled. The horse finally stops and Marvel decides the danger has passed and leaves.

The inventor decides to enter his horse in a race. He literally names it Iron Horse and when the $100,000 race begins it immediately takes the lead. Unfortunately, the horse can't turn and smashes through the fence and the judges stand. The horse mechanical head falls off proving it to be mechanical and Capt Marvel smashes it to bits. The jockey and inventor are sent to jail and we discover the jockey was the man in prison. He wants his job switched from working with horse to laundry. Cue laugh track.
