2X2 equals four and is also a nice Metallica rendition of the rock that is the fire and stretched not so invisibly by the fearsome respected foursome. Fantastic! It sounds so real to hear it ring true, and when reading you hope all that they've accomplished could be because of you! The fan that is still a living breathing entity and buying from those that sell for the good of comic kind and with four element "type" forces at a time. Invisibility may have reckoned that key element of plot more recently, as in Harry Potter. The Fantastic Four are forwardly and reactively in momentum more popular for sure, as well longstanding. In uncovering the unknown masses, who didn't even know what they needed at the time until reading it proving it tried and tested. Teamwork makes the dreamwork, and they now no longer feel invisible but will always have the need for classic Kirby and Stan Lee. Times are tough enough between issues, times 4, and times are tough say hello to 2 by 4 ~ paraphrasing Metallica, on speaking of Stan and Jack the main two authors of the FANTASTIC FOUR!

3rd Silver Age Sub-Mariner appearance. Adding a Big Subby, to somewhat make me feel better about selling my Iron Man Submariner #1. Complete in Silver Age Style and zest to round out what I can of my Fantastic Four set. It's ever building and needs attention, so I need to make what I can out of it, with what ability is left. Submariner is an older character from Marvel and goes back beyond the Silver Age. It is probably why CGC shows the 3rd appearance on the label. It is not as though it is the "3rd appearance" ever, but only of the Silver Age. A labored perspective but worth the effort for the importance. A script by Stan Lee, pencils by Jack Kirby, inks by Dick Ayers. Awesome recollection preserved and taken into account here in the description for the big names, i.e. "big subby!" A long running hero of sorts that is often thought of as a "troublemaker!" Making headway into other forms of media and is sure to gain ground eventually. I bought it off eBay even in low grade to keep the back stock full and ongoing, many earlier Fantastic Four are beyond the reach, but to be sure and secure something I've found some keepers!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen "detective notepad" giveaway to the movie before released to theaters of, "Shaft!" John or Shaft in this version is having underlings learn to carry on the practice, but he is flat broke, the same as the Fantastic Four in this issue. All are looking to get creative and make themselves useful doing "what it is" they do best! Not your average heroes, but those that prove their worth! Shut your mouth!

1st Ant-Man Crossover. Doctor Doom Appearance. Wasp Cameo. A Keith's Comics find! This slab along with others Keith seemingly wanted to sell quickly, so he immediately offered me a deal off the sticker price. It is an early appearance of Doctor Doom, and I'm glad to have it! It's an Awesome Cover! Doctor Doom is a Major character, and I will take what I can get! It unfortunately is "restored", and a purple label, and the only one in my collection. These older books have survived and some in fewer numbers, but at what cost? Sometimes you are blessed with them even being available for sale in the wild and don't know it. The associations and networking made along the way make for impressive collection goals. Doom has been portrayed, yet most remain hopeful there will be more iterations that are better.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "GODZILLA!" Who doesn't remember the big green lizard roaring proudly, as the green cloaked Dr. DOOM is seen doing here to the Fantastic Four! Everything has an angle, yet the grasp is not always complete, the dire need for heroes amongst the "wild" will always be there! Hopefully and instinctively, as the unlikely scenarios arise to thwart evil. Go GO Godzilla and Get Out Uh Here Dr. DOOM! Forget about it!

Doctor Doom appearance. (Cover Detached). Another Keith's Comics find that he offered me a deal on to get it sold. The cover is "detached" but still 2.0 is kind of high grade for a cover detached book! Doctor Doom has the Fantastic Four in his clutches, and I'm glad to add this early appearance to my collection! These early Fantastic Four books are still really great reads, if you like when characters are being fleshed out. Dr. Doom is an important enough character to do just that! Fantastic Four villains are a time-honored tradition. The Fantastic Four themselves in the current era have made it big with the introduction of the Marvel Zombies. Doom is usually behind it all, in some form or fashion, that he takes the Fantastic Four so seriously only speaks to how they have bested him at every avenue more often than not! Fantastically here to stay!
Complete with a back cover picture of the Invisible Woman Comic card since CGC is doing those now, and also for a retrospective of how she has been represented through the years! They can always use a revamping, but it needs tradition sometimes or at least some consistency if they want to garner steady fans. Bringing in new readers is always risky when even newer ideas are needed. Bring back the cards!

1st Frightful Four! Against the Fantastic Four, 1st appearance of Medusa. We get a look into the process of how villains may not always be the bad guy! This is classic Stan and Kirby. Medusa has used her powers for good over the years, although here in her first appearance she is on the side of evil. The other members haven't fared as well over the years, which is worth pointing out. Keeping true to Fantastic Four style, we meet them as the good guys who are almost caught off guard. These 2 foursomes are equally matched, and with the battle to ensue they keep each other guessing what to do next. Mr. Fantastic still has a few tricks up his sleeve. Old stretch neck and thingamabob keep sturdy, moving invisibly behind the flaming scenes! Some can find "good" in themselves, like Medusa, and the results speak louder when actions are applied. Something will light the bulb! It takes a one-way switch, hopefully, because you don't want to be wishy washy!
Complete with a back cover picture of some newly formed "Underdogs!" A prescreen pass before released to theaters, that can show how we use extracurricular activities in our downtime. Being underdogs in more ways than one, one can prove your worth to overcome the bad negatives. One day at a time to recompense yourself a reward, that's winning and diligence in action!

1st appearance of the Inhumans (Black Bolt, Crystal, Karnak, and Triton), also 1st appearance of Lockjaw. I got this from the CGC boardie, "Bird." Super GLAD to add this Stan Lee Story and Jack Kirby plus Joe Sinnott art to my collection! The Fantastic Four lined up under a starry sky cover! With a sweet Sep 10, 1965, date stamp on the back cover! These crazy villain teams keep coming and the Fantastic Four scramble each time, but seemingly can stay on top of any situation. The Inhumans may make it to theater, if and when there are plans for the FF again. The Inhumans could be good guys given their involvement as of late, but who could wonder of their usefulness? After all the time finding ways to be a teacher, Mr. Fantastic has some verifiable ways of influence and use, but I mean the FF are usually fully funded and have purpose. Iron Man could be so lucky and would if he stayed humble! The Inhumans need character building, and a building to be based in to stand on their own!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of Amazon's "Challengers!" Starring Spider-Man's own Zendaya! The challenging part being of tennis pros with the "inhuman ability" to attract attention. With definite tension that can "Cut Like a Knife!" The Bryan Adams type tennis volley over the net is akin to the Medusa whose sister 1st appears this issue, showing kindness to the Human Torch after he is stood up for a date! Knowing Medusa's passion elsewhere, before with the Fantastic Four, the Human Torch was on an "exploration" and won't find love by way of her sisters' origin. Rather he is an earthling and of different kin to the "INHUMAN!" Tensions of the challenging volley between groups and their passions ensue, comic and film!

1st Full Appearance of the Black Bolt, with his first cover appearance as well! A Dave and Adams find, priced comfortably, although very low grade. Keep it together ADAMANTIUM, you'll get each individual Inhuman 1st appearance eventually. This may be low grade but kind of matches my 1st Medusa in FF#36 along with all eventual #'s from 1-100; I'm not as spendy but am happy with every little possibility that I can come across; especially with a story wrapped around it! Presentable copies for the 1st "Marvel's", bring it on Stan and Kirby! The Black Bolt may prove to be the leader of the Inhumans, eventually, although Medusa is climbing the ranks quickly and proving her own path within the reads. They all have their own ambitions and reasons for why they do what they do, and for how long? Humans can seem a little inhuman sometimes too!
Complete with back cover picture of a "novel" book read of sorts, of the Great Fantastic Four "Collectors Album!" Indeed, the pages are crisp full of nostalgia for a bookworm, in plastic seal. Keep Books Alive! It's called "Their Greatest Adventures and plus Never Revealed Secrets!"

1st appearance of the Silver Surfer and the 1st cameo of Galactus. I really jumped on this as a noob, happy with my 3.5. I passed on this at Titan Comics, made it home and immediately changed my mind, and I drove back and bought this along with #49 & #50! It wasn't too much out of pocket. This issue is Silver Surfer Gold in the Silver age, and I'm so glad that I didn't let it slip through my fingers! These issues where pivotal in history, ushering in the Surfer was the best thing for Stan Lee and created by Jack Kirby! It was reportedly his favorite character. The Silver Surfer was a space way's traveler who had been sent to prepare this world for Galactus as his Herald. Not one of Stan's own creations but he did speak of it fondly, although over the years there were events that looked like daring changes to his own characters, that I wonder if he would have approved. Written by Stan it must have felt worthy of his hand, and Kirby astounds by creating his "favorite!"
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass of the movie before released to theaters of, "The Watchers!" The Watcher who first appeared in Fantastic Four #13, is much akin to this "movie" by M. Night Shyamalan's daughter Ishana! Precarious and bewildered to know and not affect outcomes, sees the results of the Fantastic Four and their plight in humanity. The all-important question is, does this bring hope? Or are those who watch too outside the realm to relay information? They are the "watchers", who stand behind the veil and all while being perceived and mysteriously eerie with a mission of their own! 1st full appearance of Galactus and the 2nd Silver Surfer. Signature Series by Joe Sinnott and Stan Lee 6/4/16. One of the first books I got signed. I drove back to Titan Comic's to pick this up, it is easily iconic and I'm glad that I was able to obtain it and have it signed! At the First con that I was able to obtain Stan Lee! A very pivotal experience in my collecting days, that really started off well and I know to whom I give the credit. Thankful and even gleeful to a point. I made these wins early and the subsequent signings really buoyed my spirits, and it kept me creatively thinking of how I could continue! It was the game changer in my mind and spirit that made me choose to dive back into collecting. At the time I was driving across town regularly once a week, and finding a LCS near there that I also contributed too is when I discovered slabs. As a poor college kid, it was a shaky Reed, indeed.
Complete with a back cover picture of another dash to a Local Comic Shop, Keith's Comics, when they offered this magazine/comic rack for free to pick up. I strapped it to my vehicle and brought it home! I make it a back cover picture here, as I'd love the most to have picked up Galactus off the "Rack" upon release!

1st appearance of Wyatt Wingfoot. The Surfer battles Galactus. I waited a long time to get this graded, even though I bought it at Titan with the other 2, which could be argued are more desirable. The fact that I was able to pick up all 3 issues at the same time, was in fact perfect timing! So glad that making this a goal was important to me early in getting back into collecting! 3rd appearance of the Silver Surfer, and the 2nd Full Galactus. This Herald has decided to no longer help consume and it is time to follow through with that decision, unfortunately Galactus does not take no for an answer. The heat is on, and not invisibly, a rock-hard concrete answer that could be stretched fantastically for years. It is now the day of choosing, what will make or break the plot? The Surfer has been offered life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness! How can one turn those down? America the Beautiful!

1st appearance of the Black Panther (T'Challa). Inhumans appearance. Inspiration as the legacy of Jack Kirby eventually lives on with this character in a 70's-decade ongoing series. It all got a start here with Stan Lee and the Marvel think tank that is tried and true, with adaptations in comics, cartoons, film and cinema. A plucky leader in his own right the Black Panther comes from a nation called Wakanda, with their own peoples and ways to conduct their honor and tradition. T'Challa is picked to be the peoples champ, and quite like the Rock of wrestling, he has a moniker equally impressive as the Black Panther. His leadership could sometimes be challenged but each edition must carry the nations reputation and leadership on their shoulders. This first rendition shows us the Fantastic Four filled with wonder but teaming up with and interacting with, the Black Panther and as a 1st in a way of its day with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, forward and onward!
Complete with a back cover picture of some "CGC Swag!" That I won in a social media contest from CGC! Again, showing issues like Black Panther are sometimes better bought already slabbed by CGC to pick and choose, and with the cost of some comics nowadays most of the offerings can seem to be slabbed already and with plenty to choose from, while buying a reprint to read can suffice in other ways. Branding or sometimes called "representing" comes in all forms, from Marvel and DC ephemera and on to the likes of CGC: Hats, Beanies, Lanyard, Stickers and Otherwise Intricate "Swag!"

2nd appearance and origin of the Black Panther, with a Stan Lee story, Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnot art. 1st Klaw appearance. Black Panther in the movies kind of surprised everyone, and I hope that he is here to stay! WE NEED THAT! Along with a raw copy to read, that has now been graded and accounted for, thankfully. Got this CGC 7.0 for $150 on eBay, but the experience was golden regardless. Movies can make or break sometimes, but now that people are getting back to collecting, it's for the better. I'm still grateful for the interest in the hobby and I have high hopes for it. Between LCS blowouts and sales, the saving money has been hard, although I've almost got used to it. Still the cost just over $100 is not as common, as when I got this #53 in 2017, now it is more and rising in 2022! The Black Panther joins up with the Fantastic Four, and Klaw is the common enemy.
Complete with a back cover picture of another FF book picked up at a sale this 2023, at Keith's Comics with issue #211. It had its views and hopes for value, but with only $19 out the door for a F/VF raw to read? I'll take it!

Origin and 1st appearance of Him (Warlock) in cameo. Unleash the Cocoon to your Doom! Maybe if they had said "basket of puppies?" It would have meant more of a kindred spirit, and or welcoming rendition similar to the Guardians of the Galaxy films. With childlike faith comes tutelage, just be in line for the school of hard knocks! "HIM" has a learning curve, mostly because he finds not likewise people or creations like unto himself, so he mistakenly thinks that he is "his own master, or he need only learn from his own bank of knowledge." Which is silly in itself, because he knowingly admits to learning new things and is not a "know it all", but in short, he sure does act like one. We get in our own way sometimes, and with character building strategies and a misnomer of a name for himself, he eventually comes around to being on the "actual good-guy side", even though he almost thought he wasn't from the beginning. I guess when being "created for evil", it can muck about with the thoughts and emotions all while asking for the old paths to where the good ole way is! Jeremiah 6:16.

A "kid" flick that may even bring to light adult's minds, with emotions in tow and having to think for oneself alongside the ins and outs of life and circumstances! 1st appearance of Tomazooma! A robot that is made to resemble an Indian god, that keeps the Fantastic Four using artillery! Bring out the Thing and the BIG GUNS!! Along these lines, when robots were a dream of the future. Only back then was putting robots to productive use seen as over the top new, and thinking then was to dream of what computers could accomplish! Imaginations run wild for Kirby and Stan! Who will get top billing? Why the Fantastic Four, of course! Keeping it futuristic and in the course of the coming era's the Thing says, "It's clobberin' time!" Glad to add this cover and book to the collection, as it had a bit of a "Fast and the Furious" vibe, after a lot of iterations it was nice to have Stan and Kirby's take. They even have the vehicles imagined at the time on the cover, all they need is Vin Diesel saying, "FAMILY!"
Complete with back cover picture of what they may have "built" nowadays for the approach and getaway vehicle! Need some rubber tires and some squealing to strike fear? Give it some black light paint and make the model of a car a work in progress. Vroom-Vroom!

Boards Raffle December 2022! Got this from Motor City Rob Boardie, presents well enough for the registry, and he sent a few raws with it! Namely some McFarlane Spideys! Glad to have some recourse with any boards function! It was packed securely but arrived with a cracked case, although I have similar in my collection. Very nice Doom Cover and that is the main attraction in 9.8, as the book is intact and whole! Glad there are things that can make you smile with the kindness shown to each other during the holidays, a testament to the true nature of the boards. We all had a time of making it in 2022. This just goes to show that we can come together and still make each other laugh, cry and feel the overall love. We love comics! SLABS! CGC is the opportunity through which we can share a common bond. The time and effort will prove worthy of our time! If we are diligent and seek what is right, leaning not to our own understanding, because we don't always know what tomorrow will bring! One day at a time, and on to 2023!

The Origin of Dr. Doom. "Doctor is giving the news, of how he's got a 'bad case' of harming you!" This isn't a Doctor Pepper, this is Doom! The Fantastic Four now have an archnemesis that comes from a source of a bit of everything. What can be against the "elements" that consist of the FF? Only the good Doctor can come up with eternal rewards in resources. Not often found on the side of good, though his actions sometimes cause it, Dr. Doom lives up to his name as a big tough bad guy. Many a quip on the side of Stan Lee for this villain to procure and cement his legacy within the pages, and mostly, against the Fantastic Four! "It's clobberin' time!" It is all over the place, for the Puppet Master so to speak of HIM is Doom! As he is the force of his own destiny, once clothed in mystery, but now taken aback to leave the Fantastic Four mystified!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Night Swim!" It was a book first with possibly a different story telling, which is similar to the Doom in comics and movie portrayals so far, and yet horror nonetheless! Beware taking your clothes down to a minimum, whether in a pool or other likely area, with what crawls out of the night as it is enough to put your pants back on! Featuring stars from Falcon & Winter Soldier to Fear the Walking Dead! Comics! The Doom in us all senses the evil, it is how we respond and with what authority we take, that in itself calls us to whom we belong. All in the strength of the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
