The kung-fu the X-men do, so well!
The X-men, got to keep up the mutant liberation, and keep the spirits running smoothly to not upset the humans. All things created equal, that's what they say, while the animosity towards mutants ruins their day to day. This is the "way" for the mutants to discover how they may be useful for the mutant cause, and to keep at it, no matter the new threats that interrupt the usual frivolity.
They have to take time to relax, but even the fellow mutants seem to disrupt the X-men's best laid plans!

If X-men can complete a story in a run of comics, television, and movies, then I can give it a go to round out the hits!

The whole enchilada and takes the cake, with X-men as the ongoing series that has now lasted decades and beyond. Making or breaking tradition within the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters now has many breakout stars that have gone on to teach those morals as well. Not all are their own master, as some have fallen on hard times, but the X-men as a group have always kept in touch to reinvigorate past characters towards new writing, illustrations, and or portrayals of character representation. The bullpen is alive, and will, Lord willing, all mean the best is yet to come!
Families, enemies, lovers, and friends, and with no burnout on the horizon, it accumulates to a well-rounded hobby!

Origin and 1st appearance of the X-Men. (Professor X, Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast and Marvel Girl) and Magneto. Stan Lee story. Jack Kirby cover and art. These are the days and hours through the looking of tinted glass where there are mutants, things uncanny, and otherwise, "This time on X-men!" A weekly cartooned type of soap opera that dazzled and danced all over the kid's imagination of the late 80's and early 90's, hot off the heels of a Phoenix Saga and where about a decade or more before that got its start in comics, comics, comics, circa 1963! Astounding and abounding, it took a force of magnetism, and one called Magneto to hold the headbanging metal over these unyielding Do Gooders, which by these terms were quaint at the time but showed in themselves and along with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, heavy bonds of promise in the ties that bind and let loose Marvel!
 Prescreen pass before released publicly to theaters of, "The Long Walk!" Based on Stephen King's first novel and promises to be a long-awaited closure such like those that are horribly mutated in X-men and Stephen King descriptions. Not yet hoodwinked, but just a return to roots like the X-men hold on to when becoming established to show that although different, we should all be able to live next to each other with nary a crime in thought, passion, or deed.
Complete with a back cover picture of the sold/trade made for this X-men #1 1963 escapade, which were these 2 Hulks for an even $3,770 for this X-men at the same cost: a long walk indeed.

2nd appearance of the Juggernaut. Human Torch appearance. Matt Murdock cameo. Stan Lee story. Werner Roth and Joe Sinnott art. Jack Kirby cover and layouts. Ha! I had a description at this acquisition Memorial Day 2026, but the ends that justify by what means are like smooth Juggernaut cartwheeled praise, and when instead should be a solemn bow of the head in remembrance. Slowing down is not this 2nd appearance calling card of the X-men telling the Juggy to "Go away or we shall 'stop your taunt' a second time!" Brotherly trials are by something by way of Xavier's tears and of not ejecting from the wheelchair to instead having mercy on his brother. Whether in law or by submission it is up to the X-men when these vigils make haste too storm a castle full of calls to recant, but hate is under heaven and takes a stance all the same and, "God help the family member that comes between me and the call to arm my lover or living worded call to action!" Not as lax or some self-involvement but as the ones who died and went before can recall as to the respect something seeking self-reflection in a respect of death, shiva, Memorial Day rests.
Complete with the Death that is waiting as a back cover picture, and whether by a lady or taunting a 2nd time it is this Juggernaut second appearance that it is known by the ends of the book laid down in armistice sidings of divisions and rib ticklers of Dad' Jokes when leading a family, team, or by any other name the relational choices of offering salvation. Again. From what? It is a personal experience. Your mother was a hamster, and your dad wore elderberry smelling army boots! ~ Monty Pythons that squashy rhetorical paraphrase.

Magneto appearance. Stranger cameo. Stan Lee story. Werner Roth and Dick Ayers art. Kirby, Roth and Ayers cover. Power but not by suggestion, only! As it is in the manning's of equipment and as by strength the powers again that are in numbers, so is that taking of the breastplate for the right and up to a helmet of the circumcision by salivation a.k.a. the disciplined. Father Magneto craves towards meek icicle feet, which are piecing out the fettered pierced shield of belting out the way of truth, and when the sword is worded as double edgily forever. Barely making the eagerness of grace by mere means but also expecting miracles of non-starters to be marveled as unbelief, and well, from those of the day that are met with Magneto on the field of chickadee minefields and of mindfully the love of the sparring enemy that would be turned friend. Magneto has the potential, but as well to do and all are well planted seeded men and women, as family. In as is conditioning conditions, which crush the head, heal and heel that are in the turning back from evil and does most of the bruising.
Complete with the back cover picture of a "this time" ballad chorus in return to the prescreens as passes are to the movie before released publicly of, "Power Ballad!" Rock the Yom's of Kippur in daytime fashion and by the Spirit that Purim makes these nooses spring tighter than Esther by the sandy rocks of an affirmed foundation. A con and a cop out like foolishness towards making and creating anything of note toward praise and the songs of psalms and in lawful correction.

1st appearance of the "Locust!" (Doctor August Hopper) A Roy Thomas Story. Werner Roth and Ayers cover and art! a Keith's Comics (LCS) find, marked at $90, but they were having a 22% off sale that included slabs! It's no wonder this LCS has been surviving and been around for 30 years 1989-2019 and this being 2020! Well, Congrats Keith's Comics! To 30 more! Roy Thomas really has been around a long time. I didn't realize how old Avengers #66 was and now X-men #24? That's an experience with a long history later that would get him promoted time and again. Seems he was more of a writer, plotter, and creator than actually drawing. A cool field even though I'd prefer to draw, but it still takes a creative mind for story boards and perhaps he had a hand somehow, someway. Cheers to Roy Thomas, he lived long and hard! He earned some respect.
 The "Blob" man will come back again like the plague!
Complete with a back cover picture of X-Men #38, a lone reader for a few dollars. Just got to pick up those X-Men when they're available in easy fashion. This copy came from Keith's Comics at a sale, for about $25 minus the sale. I'm not sure I'll finish the run slabbed, yet it can fill in gaps with raws to find out!

Origin and 1st appearance of El Tigre (Juan Meroz). Roy Thomas story. Werner Roth and Dick Ayers art. Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers cover. He's a specter and is as does, but somehow the Tigre meets in ages old tradition? By the breaking of his idle bread towards what is a heritage making his genealogy but not as some vain babblings, nor as a heretic to an X-man justly, yet. The dawn may be taught as such, but not for the ease of self. These X-men subjugations do not let the sun go down upon giving up their wraithy answers as these angels, but as kids; however, it is still a kinging of the checkers pieces and taken up again by bishops and pawns, as is in this nonexistent nor imaginary game called comics, comics, comics. Tigre is a recycled call to remembrance of an early rendition and when a higher power was called upon, and as Pearl Jam once was singing, "You're still alive you say, and oh do I deserve to be, and is that the question who answers." But who dares?
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released publicly of the movie, "Ghost Soldier!" As all specters and angels go, when denying the Lord as of flesh but not the coming of it would be as their calling and or card, and as it is of dismal proportions to their stature, and none are known but One that can forgive them because, no one can go before their war nor way as to account for them in the mis failings and misguided handlings of something or other. Wrestled out of circumstance to engage as in themselves without a cause a revel or revelation?

El Tigre appearance. A classic genre of book with slab, at $80 shipped, I'll take it! Bought from Dave and Adams, on a bit of mix-up with their inventory is why I got it so cheap. It fits my X-men collection perfectly and who can deny that cover? A bit colorful and deep with ink and style! I'm excited to add it, as I almost thought that I was done picking up early X-men! They aren't as easy to find in the wild, and that means the Local Comic Shops as well. 8.0 fits well and it will be a long-lasting hold out for the run. El Tigre sounds menacing enough and other worldly to keep the X-men on their toes, while forming their team and learning early on to stick together! Dave and Adams had misplaced what I originally ordered, and they rectified by store credit for purchase price, plus another $100 in credit! Glad that it worked out so well. Always stay vigilant and try your best, and when you can own up to mistakes and try not to repeat!

1st appearance of the Banshee. (Sean Cassidy) and the Ogre (Brian Dunlap). Roy Thomas story. Werner Roth and Dick Ayers art. Werner Roth and John Tartaglione cover. Shelter was the offering for Banshee to be apart from himself as an inward turning but outwardly non oppressive. Though it is his song and voice of effort that lifts him off the ground, one could call it wailing but not so much something as Moby or Dick or a fiction but it plays in the mind as something more Jonah or Jonas. Maybe about brothers, when he'd rather work out his inner caretaking and bear the brunt to be denied by his plot writ gives the creators the liberty to further his etchings and fine line edges to moving the forward progression of his characters mindfulness of or in falling short. Such could be like the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew to find friends, give me an X-men but always let it be led by the encouragement and tendencies by the sincere and honeysuckle vines toward repeating history.
Complete with a back cover picture of the shirt with merch as a screening giveaway for something that speaks to the minds in hearts that soulfully look at movies as such, shelter, but more to the giving and freedom and not as a cheap signet ringing in the ears but not as an itchy ear reminder as yet or as well.

Roy Thomas story. Jack Sparling and John Tartaglione art. Jack Kirby cover. Back to steppingstone footstools of when the magic was thus, but friendlier eyes have gazed when the X-men join the fray. Xavier notwithstanding as a leader holds Cyclops responsible in response to his thinking. These early teams prognose and underline the magic they come against, whether by trickery or God forbid a normal looking rock or stone. They don’t always kick at these ant piles to see what is underneath but feel them as personal saving graces to be what is instead kicked up and out. Does it justify these emotional upheaves to bear out in responsible ways the humanity of mutants? One inclined may not prey evil upon another in the goodness and of mercy that overtakes but lies in the restful coexistence of peace by the valley, mountains, and provision.
Complete with the treasure hunters back cover picture of kids themselves with wonders of DC women and more seen as worn out "skin's" video game cost in, “Borderlands!” Time patience and effort but when considering these gifts it only reminds us of the playfulness of others as we learn to share and give our experiences in endurance but not always as wisdom, as there will be (as any X-men or Boarderlands will tell you) someone bigger, better, or more well off.

Mole Man and Tyrannus appearance. Robot cover. Roy Thomas story. Dan Adkins cover and art. Green Flares from The Darkness. Much like Pirates of the Caribbean it signals the child like faith to come back from Davy Jones Locker! Necklaces and gold chains for an enemy of stone only calls the living to become tender while the breathing X-men are getting their heart rate up to discover the towering's of giants, when is the land of an earlier in the series imagining. Like Kirby or something more soft to stern over the port bow Stan as Mr. Lee makes a bend towards giving Kirby back his orders and allows a chance for Roy Thomas this issue. Editor to be and who would move on up with his reputation and liberties calls to mind those of Kirby related appreciation, dedication, and the managements responsibilities when allowed liberties. Age old is turning around to a newer generation who may have heard and believe but do not know the experience now from the same lensed thought it is hard fought.
Complete with a back cover picture of the laminated lament that captures the eyes to make them gleam the glean when the field is ripe for asking or even saying this Memorial Day, 2026, a silent bow of prayer for laborers. Not as something blue collar or Labor Day accounted but that those memories of gone by opportunities that were fought for not to end up as fish in the ocean wailing at the fallen "accounts!" We have passes and the blur of the market, culture of society, and the representatives rely on the republic of us responsible, called to account as people with their own pass and paths made! 1st appearance of the Changeling. Spider-Man and Banshee appearance. CGC might should add to the label notes, "early crossover or classic cover?" An opinion of some! Yes, it is somewhat an early appearance or in an early X-men book, #35, but they might have even met before, which would take away the sting of, "Who This?" as a crossover. I know there was some thought to the 1st Changeling being key, but I stick to the Spider-man appearance in this X-men book as the main attraction for me. I'm glad to have picked this up for about $35 raw, (10% of tree fiddy btw), from Local Comic Shop Comics Asylum! Then add the cost to grade and it comes in at around $50 total, I'll take it! They had several nicely priced for the grade raw X-men books back in 2022, this and X-men #58. I sent these in together and am glad to have the desire and opportunity to purchase when available. A lot of nostalgia packed into these early issues that got the mutant ball rolling, and the Spider-man "Street-Cred" didn't hurt either!

Complete with a back cover picture of Marvel Cards, now that CGC is grading those! Given in the Christmas Gift Exchange circa 2023 by boardie, "Grendelbo!" Spidey is certainly hanging out everywhere, and who better to understand his plight than mutants. Upside down or swinging from the ceiling, there goes the neighborhood! Those packaged playing cards with families of all ages and generations teaching when to hold them and when to fold them, as the jar of pennies always go back to the jar or can until the next attempt for card game wagers.

1st appearance of Mekano (Tom Regal). Roy Thomas story. Ross Andru and George Roussos art. Ross Andru cover. Mood Rings of intelligence when rooftop scenery spills over into the city and calls the mutants out to once again defend. Much like an argument point, nothing necessarily means to cause debate but defense happens quite regularly anyway for a city on a hill that never sleeps, so I suppose you could say the peaceable rest is what is sought, asked, and knocked out for by the way of Kirby, Stan and any number of would be reality stars. Not as something drawn out into the public square, again or soapbox, but a running box car derby of would be crashers in plots and cases where realities need those whistles blown to put the sound of peace back into the feared or respected rather intricacies of life's decisions and delicacies when are heroes, mutants, humanities, and the X-men!
Complete with a back cover picture of the real-life reality made difference between these spaces of rooftops, the overlooked and the reflection that can be found. Whether for personal use or by choice of something sovereign that meets the catcher's mitt of the shortstop on its way to first, for kisses of the nature or at least natural when not everything is seen as a scene towards the already quite prevalent supernatural.

Classic Frankenstein Cover. Meet the X-men as they go up against the android that will monster mash its way into the reader's heart! Muahaha!! Best looking 7.0 I've seen in a long time! Loving it so much, those crazy kids! Bought off of Dave and Adam's website for a decent or fair price. A lot of hijinks during this time for the X-men. Some different and some fresh to exciting, and a lot of love either way. Who doesn't love a pesky Frankenstein robot! Braaains!! Or Frahkenstein! Either way he would have got away with it too, if not for those pesky writers. They finish it off in classic style for the time. I'm sure that it was in fashion and now looks timely as a way to upset the X-men and keep them guessing. They are Mutants, why not a monster, although they were always written pretty hip to the real world. Even in their own interests.
 Deliver on the Moses law of the Psalms of Solomon on a "Frankenstein Alive" done by Bernie Wrightson. A silent tribute to the ode of Monster, still bringing us the morals of old, but in a bright silvery package, that man could draw! R.I.P. Boardie @porcupine as those grains of sand through times hourglass are memorated of the poor and pour of those that are then comforted.

1st Polaris. (Lorna Dane) 1st Mesmero. A needed copy, any copy, before they were all gone. I got this and it has a Thorpe and Porter Pence Stamp that gives it class, while still being a "cents" copy, as I believe this issue did not carry a "pence distribution!" It's a 2 in 1?!? Still, very happy with this added addition as a part of my collection. A wonder of the white covers is that a lot of these are around VF. Some interesting plot twists, some extras to see, and that Steranko cover isn't too bad to look at either. An easy on the eye's composition, but just what is the plot afoot? Are the mysterious X-men on solid footing? Will Cyclops finally get some purpose? There is no Pence copy of this issue, so the Thorpe and Porter stamp is purely decorative, but a nice something-something for a niche. Even if it's all you can find and is affordable at the time you are interested.
 Iceman prominently displayed on this cover, now in Jim Lee style for comparison. Similar to the Silver Surfer and comparatively to X-men issue #1, Iceman has gone through transformation in artist style, from bulky and clumpy to silky smooth!
Complete with a back cover picture of issue #45, with an origin of Iceman, and it too has stamps on the cover that show the way retail used to be! By contrast you can see how ordering books from a collection, and or store, that it can be sometimes different with how books were processed, now compared to the past.

1st cameo appearance of Erik the Red, key in the Phoenix saga on the animated series. Even gave the X-men a whooping at first, seeing the cover of this and the next issue, and a very formidable story and foe! Polaris appearance! Pretty bluish-purple cover, with that old style kind of toboggan or lodge hat. Are the X-men on a retreat or vacation? They are tried with fire and the coming of "Erik" the Red. After Magneto is revealed to be Lorna's Father, this issue is Erik as an emissary, but he is just disruptive. This one is keeping the brutal lessons coming, with another character of the same name coming later. Got to keep on those toes! The cartoon really was the first portrayal and telling of the Phoenix story that I had ever seen and who I know best. I was young and had heard tidbits here and there of the Phoenix story but to see it unfold on TV was invigorating! It was just all a bit overwhelming and other worldly, but it was thoroughly enjoyable.

1st Erik the Red in a Full Appearance. Disguise? Or no? As in many have borne the moniker, but we've got the wheels a turning to bring on the most epic run when the later issues come along for the plot! The powers overflow with twists and turns over the mysterious emissary of Magneto! He has that brute force down pact, and he also isn't much for talking. Just trying to do his "duty", which evidently is confront first and ask questions later. The image of Erik the Red on the cover here is the one that I actually remember from the animated series around the Phoenix Saga, he showed up just before Gladiator and the Imperial Guard. Gladiator basically tells Erik to cool the jets because there are more important matters. Erik the Red is a formidable name that commands attention, but the one in the animated series was so over the tops and enjoyable with power displays. Red is one of the best presented costumes with the shorts and still being confident, but still shows brute force! He was well supplied for the Animated Series.
Complete with a back cover picture of, "The Imperial Guard!" Sent by Lilandra and the Shiar, the Imperial were to scout, messenger, and otherwise prepare the arrival of the Empress. They proved their might!
