Set Description:
1987 was about 40 years ago.
Punisher Classics! We've got the gun's a blazin'!!! The Punisher is out for the vengeance as a lone gun, and he often works alone. If with others, he is usually the leader and mission planner of the team and can hold his own.
Most often with the Punisher, when teamed up, he goes his own path regardless. Nothing seems to stop his will and what he feels to be correct. Often right, often wrong, because he really often finds himself in "situations!" Going with his gut, he usually finds a way or a turning point.
This story is as old as the Punisher himself, and the origin that starts and finishes has kept it expounding into modern times. Many artists and creators have come and gone; the Punisher is what he is.
Being fast isn't always the safest notion when also needing to be calculated with precision, it takes the will to be all that you can with purpose driven focusing of will and attitude. Overcoming the odds usually means to sit and count the cost, but when in a heap of mess, Frank Castle also can start praying and spraying.
He being a well-off marksman just ends up hitting more targets than a common man, but that doesn't mean his blood isn't spilled as well. Being such as the Punisher entails to not have a weak stomach for pain, or even becoming your own doctor when needed. Sometimes with no anesthesia save the concussion you have already obtained, to then take out a bullet or put bones in a splint to then get back out and shoot or still escape quickly the presumed villain.

1st appearance of the Punisher (Frank Castle) and the Jackal. Signature Series by Stan Lee. Mark Jeweler insert and one of the first 4 books I got signed on 6/4/16. I dropped them all off at the Fan Expo Dallas 2016, which was my first bigger comic con. A 3.0, but with white pages. Many years from now, I hope mine is still as unique as it is today, no matter the grade! A great story, as the Punisher thinks Spidey is the bad guy. At the behest of a character named the "Jackal" there is seemingly information that is being fed to the Punisher, to get him to try to take the Amazing Spider-man down. Fast on his feet, Spidey escapes the bullet meant for him, among rooftops and talks some smack! Not to be out done the book wraps up as a plan foiled, but maybe foiled for another day, which means coming to terms with new enemies and friends.
Long ago, but not as long ago as you'd like to think. Painting a picture that is nice on paper but takes training and much responsibility in the realities of life.
Complete with a back cover picture of the ongoing adventures involving the Punisher, in gallery statue form. Hoping always to protect, and yet casualties happen, all in a day's work! Some grim exiles to last see the Punisher before their demise! Such a dynamic personality that spoke to the times. $467 Cost.

Punisher cameo. Cameo in a 2nd Appearance? Maybe it is more the 1st appearance of the Tarantula, and some details are needed to stop him. I enjoyed reading this issue. With the Tarantula Party crashing a boat and Peter Parker on board with his mates, it shapes the story. Not knowing how to secretly become Spider-man to stop the jewelry theft, chaos ensues. With a Punisher cameo, until the end he still wants to find the Spidey or the Tarantula and lay it all down for the web-crawler! Harry has been listening and putting a puzzle together, will this further his ambition? A lovely Very Fine Plus copy, glad to have added it, as I had speculated on it a bit. I bought this at a smaller con in Irving, Texas, early on when coming back to collecting for like $10. It looked in great condition and I had a gut feeling that it contained a Punisher appearance. I wasn't sure at the time being really new back to the hobby, and I mainly bought it to find out, at the time. I also bought another yellow cover with it, in 2017, an X-force #11 that came back CGC 9.6. Believe it or not they were both from the same price $10 BIN back then! $103 Cost with slab.
Same day as the weigh-in, which was held next door to this prescreen, for the boxing match between Mike Tyson and the youtuber Jake Paul. The Cobra Kai cast even attended the match.
Complete with a back cover picture of the "screen for photos", featuring an Assassins Creed outfit where it looks like a shell-back TMNT, and with a Ralph Macchio and William Zabka guest appearance, at the prescreen before released publicly of, "Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2!" In the film as well this issue of Amazing Spider-man the kicks fly but not without acting in haste and repenting in leisure. It takes the will to survive this world, and when calling it as you see it to make sure there is something still worth fighting for, after all the time to do good, make good, and keep it well enough off in this world of cobras or tarantulas.

2nd punisher officially. The web thickens, I picked up a raw copy to read too. it is such a dynamic issue! These are picking up in value yet get that story and see the Punisher beginnings! Yes, the read is well intertwined. Got to have the plot twist and the people going off the deep end! Origin of the Tarantula with his spikes and acrobats, and the fun ensues with people tracking Parker the Spider-man. Drama, a Soap Opera, and a bit of investigating, as the plot thickens for Amazing Spider-man, once again! It takes a broad road to get the viewpoint sometimes, while trusting that still small voice to stay on the straight and narrow. When it comes down to our personal actions, we all have to individually take responsibility, and that means the narrow path may be more the direct path but also the hardest. It is at its tipping point in this issue!
Complete with a raw copy in good condition, now added as back cover picture. It really is a great story of spin out, and a lot of questions asked that demand answers! The Punisher displayed in a splash page would be some great original art and a fine addition. I can dream! He still has an abrupt appearance and will be more thought out in following issues. Still knowing that at first the Spidey was his initial "mark?" Makes for some riveting collecting! $182 Cost.

foxing back cover;
spine stress lines;
very small crease right top of front cover breaks color.

Punisher & Nightcrawler appearance. 1st appearance of Jigsaw (William Russo) & Doctor Marla Madison. Two 1st appearances for the price of ONE! William Russo was seemingly portrayed in the Punisher Netflix seasons, and he captivated the role by bringing a set of creepiness to it. Jon Bernthal wasn't a bad actor as the Punisher either, and here in the comics Frank Castle is coming to terms with just what is "Jigsaw!" Who tends to think that the cause of everything wrong in his life is due to the Punisher. While it may mostly be true, actions have consequences and God help us! Complete with a 1st appearance of Dr. Marla who has come to help, but for how long? It is somewhat a Soap Opera at first, until the feelings get hashed out, then it is an all-out brawl of a conspiracy! The Punisher who is Frank Castle even has somewhat a beef with Spider-man and Nightcrawler on the cover! Jigsaw had an ugly mug and got it in an ugly way; such is that life that turns to naught.
Nobody too, as in No Bodies are found at the parks and recreation zoo, and where the heroes somewhat called find themselves with dues to pay and thwart the thrill rides.
Complete with a back cover picture of the insides to this issue featuring the 1st Jigsaw from an under copy, and "Escape from New York!" Portrays what it must feel like to evade the Punisher with the clock ticking and it all on the line. These stories and the premise of the bigger stick, it's what made many an era!

Punisher & Hitman appearance. Len Wein story. Ross Andru & Jim Mooney art. Ross Andru & Frank Giacoia cover. 1977 Halloween time, "What just hit me?" It was to be a year later when the dice were rolled, but here with an almost post Halloween Thanksgiving shows the gritty Punisher on the trail once again. Finding a said "Hitman" character on the loose also doesn't bode well for the Spider-man who is just in time to see, once again, J. Jonah Jameson targeted. Escaping in a hail of bullets by a mini helicopter finds the hitman surviving with the newspaper publisher in tow. Now to backtrack those footsteps, the Punisher was shooting and aiming to kill after finding out about the kidnap plot, and is probably wondering why it is, that an Amazing Spider-man is in the mix. A showdown of proportions to follow next issue as they take to the skies to bring back Jameson.

Complete with that year later of an episode, when in 1978 the troubles began, and then years later is the picture of the screen at the prescreen and before released publicly, of the movie "Halloween Kills!" Not being outgunned by a holiday spree, has some law enforcement after a hitman of sorts, too. As some backup power, the heroes are not all wearing capes. While some are armed, it is still those able, willing, and defenseless alike that need saving.

"Death" of the Hitman. Punisher appearance. Statue of Liberty cover. Len Wein story. Ross Andru & Jim Mooney art. Ross Andru & Frank Giacoia cover. The End? Indeed, after some service time in the core, relationships are kindled, and only then to find the Spider-Tracer has been let loose from the helicopter. The Punisher and Spider-man do eventually find Jameson, over by the Statue of Liberty, and still clinging for dear life! The "Hitman" character calls in that military favor of the Punisher, but the Punisher decides to rescue our hero Spidey and innocent Jameson instead, which the Hitman character then agrees was the best choice. By letting go of the Punisher's debt, the Hitman releases his grip to then fall down from the top of the statue to his death. Harry Osborn, however, is having his buttons and triggers pushed, and all while in the shadows someone proclaims that, "The Green Goblin Will Live Again!" Such is the way it has "ended" for now, until the next issues.
Wristbands carve out stamps for prescreens.
The Punisher pulls the "pin" like decision this issue in deciding to not let the pin drop, by saving an Amazing Spider-man and J. Jonah Jameson!
Complete with another ending of sorts following those Halloween published Amazing Spider-Man issues, with the end portrayal of a modern trilogy in "Halloween Ends!" A picture of the screen at the prescreen, that finds those eyes affixed between a hitman and the hero. Not all heroes wear capes, but given the severity of situations, all sometimes do indeed portray the like! The "pun" is indeed her, or the "Punisher" who drops the final gear turning shredder.

Origin of Spider-Man retold. Bill Mantlo story. Sal Buscema & Mike Esposito art. Gil Kane & Frank Giacoia cover. These memories wash, no, they flood back. As a once Amazing Spider-man recalls and sees the sweet sentiments that Aunt May still has at the gravesite, only for Peter Parker to do the same in remembering Uncle Ben. A microscopic set of exchanges as he recollects those past visions and proclaiming that one day there will be a "good enough use" for his powers. Spider-man or not, there is the humanity in it all, from origin to use and purpose, and if only the grips in terms would somehow be a long-term benefit for the responsibility it has required of him. These days Spider-man is as nostalgia for his childhood, in mind and spirit, and despite having more adult responsibilities than the common man. Whether vicariously or otherwise, it has entailed such through the years and more.
Sometimes being alone is just too much, even for an Amazing Spider-man, and we all need others to bring us out of the funk!
Complete with a back cover picture of those refrigerator magnets, that shows we all pick up trinkets from the past, and from time to time we stick it to the wall as a job well done or refrigerator! All we need is love, and to take one day at a time, and try to remember the good even when it is so much easier to recall the unhappy. As we've come so far to live another day, the Spider-man has as well, and proclaims this issue, "It... is not... in vain!" Made a hole in one on a par 4 as a kid by driving over the hill, well, sometimes we rely on the spirit of sportsman like fellowship to gain bearings on life because they wait for you and inform you of such to pose for the picture!

Punisher appearance. Marv Wolfman story with Keith Pollard & Jim Mooney art, and a John Romita & Bob McLeod cover. Is Spidey standing in the way of a man and his armory? That was new for me as a kid reading the fun loving "friendly neighborhood Spider-man." Believe it or not Spidey used to question the means by which good overcame evil, and not that it is all irrelevant today, but those questions he posed to himself in thought bubbles would intrigue a young reader. To not always give in to an easy solution, but find the effective ways to right a wrong, with simple understanding, and not to give too permanent a solution to temporary problems! Peter Parker under the mask has met the understanding within himself many times, and as for his usual sarcastic self, it would serve as a backdrop to portraying him as a real thinking person with life issues. He has lost his temper at times too, and not always gone too far, using restraint! A beautiful CGC 9.6!
Amazing Spider-man and Punisher, "Hitching a Ride!" ~ Green Day
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "The Kid Who Would Be King!" Garnishing those that would find the head strong will to be head of the pack, with new "powers" come new attitudes, but strength in numbers is real. Spidey like Excalibur, here in this issue, teaches that with power comes great responsibility! A moral with a "Sword in the Stone" kind of vibe! That is the permanent solution to any problem, however temporary or not, to not give in to one's weakness in justice!

Punisher appearance. Marv Wolfman story. Keith Pollard & Jim Mooney art. Keith Pollard & Joe Rubinstein cover. Some drug pushers and the Punisher seeking those to, well, be punished! He first finds Peter Parker by breaking into his apartment, but quick thinking on the part of Peter, he says it is all in accordance with the Spider-man as an alibi. That is convenient, but then the Punisher apologizes and is none the wiser. Punisher along with Spidey gladiate and to the point of exertion, being against all odds, as they are singled out, but not without coming to terms of what the official crisis is among the hoodlums and drugs. Bought this circa 2024 from boardie "ft88" with a number of others that I won't mention it in every description, but those Punisher appearances in early Spidey issues really seem to count towards some covers of swift action and otherwise all out brawls, with bullets even!

Complete with a back cover picture of the screen at the prescreen before released publicly of, "The Gladiator: II!" A numbers game that finds those with loyalty being rewarded by an otherwise underdog with a legacy. Throwing dirt in the eye it is not as well-rounded as the first movie, but the years between them do promote the ambition of taking up the mantles that sometimes lay by the wayside. Gladiator and pauper alike view the spectator like arena's in collecting comics, comics, comics.

1st Appearance of Moses Magnum, and while it is the 3rd "full" appearance of the Punisher, there was a cameo type in between the 1st and 2nd full appearance, which the cameo is in ASM #134. This particular copy of GSSP #4 has no Mark jeweler insert for this issue. Sigh! My Mark jeweler run ends at 3 with the 1st full appearance issue then the cameo, along with the 2nd full appearance issues. That, however, is too be expected, as bound books such as these rarely have "inserts." I've read this issue as it is action packed! Spider-man and the Punisher make nice in this story to realize who the real enemy is and team up! Frank Castle and Spidey have a plan! Moses Magnum behind well supplied sentries and a fortified dwelling, where Magnum is stockpiling weapons! Punisher takes aim, Spidey isn't in for the kill, and figures to talk old Mr. Castle out of shooting the enemy. The whole place goes up in flames and the Punisher, did he get his way? Spidey stays to the end and double checks.

First origin of The Punisher. First Dominic Fortune appearance. Don Pendleton interview. This was the first Magazine that I ever bought slabbed. Glad to add the 1st origin of the Punisher even in 7.5. The Dominic is a gangster file, lol the Punisher gets his man, most often. Still the coming up with the idea of the Punisher is fun and a bit imaginative at the time, one could argue it has now been done to death. On TV and movies etc., the real story doesn't start until they find the dead body, or it seems like. That is what the shock and awe, of TV especially, seems to be. The Punisher Netflix tried at least to have some substance, which was a sweet job by John Bernthal! There are really a lot of songs about "big guns" too. One by Nine Inch Nails, AC/DC, and so on, you would think a show like the Punisher would come with a pretty heavy soundtrack!
Those rivers and streams of consciousness lead somewhere but let's hope that downstream it was a bit more kosher and or safe.
Complete with back cover picture of the dollar finds of Punisher that went on to get his "own" title in magazine form, big splash pages! Some complete whole stories and NOT to be continued, but it sums it up totally within one issue. Makes it worth buying one issue at a time to read, like Marvel Preview is a teaser, the world couldn't get enough of the Punisher! 70's & 80's Big Guns.

Early Punisher from his 1st Limited Series! A Duncanville Bookstore find but advertised as a 9.4 lol. When in hand, it looked pressed. Thought it was a decent price though, glad to have this long-needed addition to the collection and registry! Punisher!!! Not sure if the LCS had it pressed before selling raw, I myself did not press. Classic Mike Zeck cover, with the Punisher (Frank Castle) going into a rain of bullets. That was the 80's for you though! It meant the bigger the gun, the bigger the fun! Whoa, what an explosion we had for the anti-hero and the vigilante back then. Taking it to the streets, no that was a 70's song, I think. Good times, that was the 70's too, but with your usual Terminator 2's and other shotgun toting anecdotes. The 80's! Again, the bigger the stick or firepower, it was on like Alderaan even in the 80's with 90s following in rapid fire succession.
"NUMBER 1!"

Steven Grant story. Mike Zeck & John Beatty art. Mike Zeck cover. Back in around 2016, when I was returning to specifically the comic hobby, Mike Zeck was hard at work signing and working with covers plus sketches and making a show of the turnaround that was his legacy. The Punisher as a character works on so many levels, but not so at the same time. As a read it is comparable to a compilation of time and efforts that put these reads into a drama of a character and plot, by sitting the reader back to let loose with how Frank would navigate. Knowing his history as we do that an anti-villain with a bigger stick, which is not always a fashionable nor sought venue of expression, and it makes for the grandiose explosions all the more real! In a day and age where you've got to stick to guns but more to the peace to wield what weapon you attain as the games in life are more a reality frame of mind, such is Life, such is Christ, and such is the cost of liberty and the pursuit of those heavy praised happiness dwellings that a river runs through.
Hmm, No? Know? Doctor, give me the news, I got a bad case of loving you, know/no pill is going to cure my ill; I've got a bad case of LOVE in You.

Steven Grant story. Mike Zeck & John Beatty art. Mike Zeck cover. A telling of a bad landing in a bad way on a bad day, by the badlands of desert seeking hombres, that curtail the backlog of bad guys into a Punishers consciousness, view and barrel sites. Whether the caliber gauge is clean and set or wafting of a spent full load, it reigns either way to marry the Punisher to an idea of getting back to the villain's fray, keeping them away from any harm to be done and spraying some aerosol raid. The Punisher this time is from Mike Zeck and is a time-honored limited series tradition that speaks to educational nerves being tested to stay teachable, like a toothache of the newfound love of the city, from Frank Castle's families cause and the gospel to be dispensed of his supposed justice in mercy. Not a relationship all that easy to talk and live, but the mercies new each morning are sometimes to be faced that we dare to speak the Name of Yeshua and walk by the grace of good therein to the life found eternal. Bad guys and buys beware and aware, that it is out in the streets compelling the telling of the cross bourn much like some Jason movie sequels and or Friday the 13th as in Halloween. Humanities are curated when there is indeed some empathy and charities.

Jigsaw appearance. Steven Grant story. Mike Zeck & John Beatty art. Mike Zeck cover. Piering and peering to pare the pair are the nutty "Punishers" of the world come to light and or dinner and seeking to whom does devour the "bread", but it isn't that on-tap party favoring drink that courses through their veins but instead a sobering justice of mercy. We all seek to read about and avoid a misguiding and or a parting of ways, but these ne'er-do-wells that do good by ignoring their plight, no? Or is it a justly cause, however, the call bells that sound toward that which tolls, *cough, with a bazooka? It might be better shaded as to what is prayed behind closed doors, in where we are rewarded openly that trust in the law, good and the right of One that will in the cross draw away and for the "betterment." Just, desserts! To find those cornucopias of the Punishers plight is as a platter served in a breaking of bread that is better loved than the money it causes or costs to do as we please. When even a Punisher must serve his own will of recanting, decanting and repentance toward his own conscience with vigilant diligence, but them is the breaks kid!
Made out of clay and popsicle sticks! Close to my heart is, as is, a history lesson that justice is served with humble pie beginnings and as the remedy. The Punisher gets back in town to get around discipling by his own mind and heart. Squirrels break nuts for concentration starters, as would any animal or dog like variety distraction on a sunny day, and as a breaking away in some cause of smiles with kindness and laughter that alleviate blues, but as to life, the Punisher is as an expected end of rendering, as peace and love win out after prayers; although thankfully also at this time, circa 2025, as is any end from the beginning. ~ Isaiah 41:10
Complete with a back cover picture of the very same backyard bomber of nutty splicing in the trees that need cutting and just daring that we pick up and read about his loud munching. "Squirrels! Hold on to your nuts!" Hanging out the windows like the Punisher here this issue and being just as much a nuisance.
