1st issue, well kind of. It takes over where Tales of Suspense #99 left off. It features the Avengers whom the Black Panther is seeking. My old friend bought me a low-grade to read for my Birthday! It was a decent story, I was a little surprised actually, due to Captain America in the story! I didn't think my friend would go all out and I'm very appreciative to my friend for the gift. Still got to love Kirby and the innovative to take Captain America back to relevance! It isn't easy, as he did some team-ups and not that many solo stories of his "own title", well not since the Golden Age. The issues that bear his name in the title, only, here are short in this run, too. Captain America gets a new sidekick named Falcon, so what some consider a short run may differ. It is safe to say we've got to collect them all. This issue begins with a recap of Captain America's return as it was originally depicted in Avengers #4 before continuing with the story from which we left off in Tales of Suspense #99.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Old!" Similarly to a M. Night Shyamalan film Captain America with his super serum is once again ready to hit the streets! Can it have the same effect as before being trapped under ice, or will the continued story from "tales" of old prove more like the film with the horror twist? Ice kept Captain America young, but now it is the regular serum blood flowing! It is what it will take to be relevant to the modern reader! Bring on the Chris Evans of the world. ~ "I know that reference!"

Red Skull appearance. Half page ad for Silver Surfer #1. Got to be that the SKULL is on board and needs an appearance. A needed addition in "fine" grade within the collection. The Red Skull that is, the arch nemesis of good old Captain America! Here in the silver age that was completed later in 80's film type theatrics, then again in theaters after the year 2000's. We've got the whole gang, with more to come, but the appearances of the "skull" in my collection were severely lacking and I had to get with the program. A Dave and Adams find at $62 shipped. Looking for the collection and looking at silver age, it doesn't come as often this cheap! SCORE! This 2022 Christmas is shaping up according to the spirit that works within us, quickening in word and deed! Christmas cheer, it is serving up the goods. A Stan Lee story, with Jack Kirby and Dan Adkins cover and art.
Complete with a related back cover pic of the Civil War unopened trading cards with a surprise inside. "Slave of the Red Skull" is right! It holds true today that these can be obtrusive but necessary issues to discuss and collect, now with trading cards too. It takes a certain level of trust in us all. Keeping up diligent good work is to us its own reward!

light finger bends on cover;
light spine stress lines to cover;

Origin and 1st appearance of the Falcon (Sam Wilson) and Redwing. Red Skull appearance. M.O.D.O.K. cameo. Sammy is the next sidekick up for determination and skill, the trial by fire! Presented here as the Falcon! He's got a sidekick himself the Redwing, and are they all here to help the Captain America? Will they branch out? Will they or can they make some initiatives of their own? Given one is an animal or bird, we'll have to make allowances. It's the heart of the matter and the transition seemingly after Bucky, but they will end up big names all their own. Complete with some Light tan to off white pages, I got a good deal. Bought from boardie STORMSHADOW_80 at $220 shipped. Glad to have this 1st in the collection and now completes the 1st and 2nd app that are back-to-back issues! It is good to have friends that will help out with a collection.
Complete with a back cover picture of some "PoP's" that I've accumulated from trips to GameStop. This time it is with the Falcon! With healing in his wings for the franchise? Hopefully at least a justifiable means to an end and to become a time-honored tradition, as the mainstay takes some rest someone needs to keep up with the Truth, Justice, and the American Way!
Grader Notes:
light creasing to cover;
light pieces out to cover;
moderate staining to cover.

2nd Appearance of Falcon and Redwing. Letter from Steve Gerber with a Red Skull Appearance! A Duncanville Bookstore find priced right, at total cost raw and to slab under $100, and I am glad to add some Falcon and Redwing to the collection. They need more HEAT, a powerful addition that's been around for years! This is the Falcon we speak of that is innovative enough to team up with good ole Caps! With the Falcon's trusty sidekick, the "Redwing" the bird turned avenger of prey, these stories are just starting to heat up and no one missed "BUCKY!?!" What will bring good old Captain America around to the ways of justice, but the new bonds and abilities to get the job done whatever the cost! These inspirations draw themselves from the likes of Stan Lee, Joe Sinnott, and Gene Colan. A bullpen with experience that has proven themselves, but not without propriety!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Wicked Little Letters!" With a Steve Gerber letter in this issue of Captain America #118, in the letters page as a younger version, who grew up to work in comics, comics, comics! He went on to create Howard the Duck and write for Man-Thing and The Phantom Zone! The film of "Wicked Letters" itself shows the effects of gossip and exaggeration, that can inspire any reader, as fun loving as comics! A British cast film that is witty as a Duck like Howard, we all started somewhere!
Grader Notes:
light creasing to cover;
light soiling back cover;
light spine stress lines breaks color.

Signed by John Romita Sr on 06/08/15 and Sal Buscema on 06/11/15! Given to me by the gracious boardie DocHoppus182 for helping him with the 2021 Secret Santa. Complete with yellow cover and yellow label! Quite the generous addition, and it is a GREAT ONE! Seeing as I didn't have enough or really "any" Red Skull covers at the time, I'm glad to have the "main" Captain America Bad Guy as a signature series. I was around for the Captain America film of the 80's, although I saw it years later, it had its ways of making "good" on the brand that is "team U.S.A!" It's always good when we can lend a hand. What a Book too! I offered a 2nd raffle prize to the 2021 The Sledder (boardie) run raffle. GOT TO PAY IT FORWARD! No pressable defects but the gift is what matters most! Good to have friends think of your collection to want to contribute when able!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Operation Finale!" I took my mom to see this one of the true stories that tell of the bad guys being nabbed! Complete with trial excerpts at the end!

Center Front Cover Small Lite Scratch;

1st appearance of Marvel Man (Wendell Vaughn, later becomes Quasar). Texas Twister, Blue Streak & Vamp app. Some Captain America flights of fancy, as the adrenaline hero comes to face with a "Marvel Man" appearance! Strange things are in the works for this the bronze age, and not everyone knows what will become of the spark in interest. Marvel Man goes on to become Quasar, which I have when he changes his name in the collection, it only makes "sense" that I have the original iteration as well. Nicely captured in CGC 8.5, this VF+ will fit nicely in my collection! Picked up in 2023 for a little more than I could have paid, but it was in trade to the LCS Awesome Comics. I just needed some time to offload and recoup from collecting "moderns" and to get back to my roots of consecutive and consistent appearances and grades. I'll take it for the win, here in 2023! I bought it already slabbed, but it appears that it had a bad press job when submitted according to the grader's notes.
Complete with a back cover picture of, Joe Jusko Masterpiece Collection an art book only, "Quasar!" Got to love those childhood copies, sometimes they're useful and after we admired them when young!

crushed/flattened spine;
light bends to cover;

1st appearance of Madcap. Captain Britain & Nomad appearance. This is the "MADNESS" that I bought this! LCS's motto to haggle had me hooked. Does it do the registry points any good? Not necessarily. Does it make me wish that I had bought some severely timed slabs at the bottom of a bell curve? Sometimes. Not always, as sometimes you have to go after the lost sheep! Be it a Madcap of a character or not! Classic or made that way imo by the Deadpool series, when I got back into collecting circa 2014ish. The character that basically started it all but not for the story, but in that his silliness captivated the true heart of hatters the world over. Even the Deadpool series had that character in its feather dust parables, that in itself owes the true sensory perception of all the trusted thoughts in comics, as all is not what it seems, or it is knowledge not your own. Sometimes we own up to things and sometimes it is beyond us to perceive the conception of knowledge! Madness!
Complete with a back cover picture of some cool readable copies, some minor firsts, in the key of David too! Cleft of the rock has some readable very fines picked up for $2 a piece.
