Set Description:
First Appearance Bishop and others in the drama, as it all unfolds. Seemingly to have his day of fun with the X-men, this space cop is looking to right a wrong and isn't really even a fan of the X-men at first. He thinks there is an eventual traitor among them and this bounty type hunter is out for the prize, the future! He's not the only one from the the future though, there is Cable, Baby! Then there is Mr. Sinister, among others, who is just as conniving and full of treachery. These are the X-men, and does disaster happen as often for anyone else?
A nice additional run to collect, that was more the era I collected when growing up! Claremont, Jim Lee, and sometimes a Kubert!

1st Baby Cable Appearance. A few other appearances too. The time traveling phenom would go on to disrupt and or correct time, a flashback in every episode in the animated series. Cuddly babies around the world await the future surrounding the X-men and how this sorted affair with Apocalypse will play out! It went on to be dissolved, but I believe there will always be a reasoning to have Cable around. He constantly wants to change the past to see how it all plays out with the help of his on-board computer, whom he talks with and discovers options for missions. Cyclops and Storm are beside themselves with what to do. A sweet presenting blue label 9.8 bought form Highgradecomics.com "Spin a Deal" promotion for around $200 in I believe 2021. Super thankful, older label and all, it works well for the collection. That time traveler writers can really spin a yarn and make it work. Chris Claremont at it again.
Complete with a back cover picture of old time-cop himself, "Cable!" The baby shows the excitement that is relative to the importance of the issue surrounding the X-men, their future, and the inevitable recourse and resolve of this birth. It takes many to ascribe the knowledge of a future, that seems like an innocence in the beginning.

Her name is Lady Deathstrike. This X-Men #205 is her origin. Pivotal in the comics to Wolverine's story, it makes me glad to add this. She is always backstabbing the Wolverine; she just can't get enough. She is always out for other mutants to see what their choices are, and to find some enhancements to their persona and of course her goals. She really hates that Gaugin Dog Wolverine. It's her curse word for him lol. She is really well presented in the animated series too; the voice actress was really well cast. It was fun to learn of the Wolverine's past and the impact of what someone did to him, and against his will. It rippled down through the future, to the disgruntled Logan's misfortune. Sometimes we can't control what happens to us, and the results are that others may look at us differently. In retrospect, I believe Logan felt bad in some way, and was something he couldn't "fix."
Complete with a back cover picture of, "Lady Deathstrike!" The Wolverine makes a clear blow to the insides of this book, proving he is the best at what he does! There are equals, but the stamina and edge belong to Logan who has had years of experience, but he is not always happy at the outcomes.

1st Marauders Appearance! They went on to arrive again, Sabretooth will take a chance to RIP the Wolverine a new one anytime, but it's for himself always not because of some higher goal; although, he'll use it as an excuse to get in some claw marks! The Marauders are only one of the first villain team-ups that came along in this era. Not always successful or with too much "purpose", other than to just play beat up on the heroes. Sometimes there were bigger things afoot, but not often enough. It was mostly an all-out brawl, trying to rid the world of heroes, and they would show up at awkward times. Trying to catch the heroes ill-prepared or off their guard, they got in some good blows from time to time. That Sabretooth was probably the closest to the brains of their operation, and it wasn't ever in good sport type fashion.
Complete with a back cover picture of the Sabretooth, and just how menacing his features looked. He's tall too and mostly is twice the size of the Wolverine. He is a dastardly fiend, that can slur his speech like some of the utterances are slimy to hear in the animated series. Then there are issues where he conducts business and dresses up in a suit! He backstabs of course, but "A" for effort?

Wolverine Vs Sabretooth! A kind of classic cover that gives the belief of Wolverine having a time of it, and that over the years has become expected in intensity! For sure this vendetta and ongoing turmoil at the hands of each other will be tested for years to come! Given the rivalry, they take it upon each other to give it their all to leave the other lying in the dirt battle torn. Sometimes it's not always what you expect. Like, why doesn't the Wolverine just execute Sabretooth and do away with him? The Wolverine wrestles with this aspect more than once, sometimes having opportunity! Like Sabretooth, they enjoy the battle too much to end it too often and leave them for another day. Sabretooth has even saved the Wolverine a time or too, because if anyone was ever to off Logan, it should be up to Creed to decide the death. The Wolverine finally cuts Sabretooth's head off in issue #55 of a Wolverine volume and series.
Complete with the back cover picture of the insides of this book, showing Sabretooth taunting the Wolverine and egging him on by brandishing his intentions!

Wolverine vs. Sabretooth. Psylocke joins the X-Men. Rabble Rouser's At Their Finest. What of Psylocke joining the X-men? What can smooth the forces that be over, to where the fight brings them closer together? Somehow the Wolverine is a target, and yet again, by the equally menacing Sabretooth, to where those that are around may end up as collateral damage, if they are not careful. Wolverine is busting his knuckles with his claws on the cover, being formidable against any threat from elsewhere, but this past fiend is all too familiar territory. Psylocke goes on to become quite the loner but can be a very great help when the cards are shown. A bit of mystery to herself, she gets fleshed out later, but these early issues, she is a looker who can hold her own to get the job done with her Psi-blade, and mental and physical prowess. She just needs to center and find the focus to discern who exactly it is she trusts, and whom is on her side to begin with, drama unfolds!
Complete with a back cover picture of the insides to this issue showing Sabretooth tearing up the place, as the cover does not disappoint! It is fearsome to stand face to face, and yet greater is He that is in you! Strength of Love, the X-Men know the difference.

1st Mr. Sinister. 1st comic that I didn't buy directly off the rack that still came back 9.8! So happy to add this, as it is another key character to X-men the animated series. I bought it raw at Keith's comics, they were "tempted" to up the price at checkout. They pretended they were halfway joking, but the results were, they didn't raise the price. Bought it raw for $30 plus tax at checkout and immediately submitted it to CGC. I even submitted it before I had my own CGC account through the Local Comic Shop Titan Comics, and it still came back 9.8! That was a whole lot of events ha! Sinister sought to extrapolate the "seed" form Cyclops and Jean Grey, among others, to make his breed and clan. Sinister also talked weird in the animated series. I think they took the Name "Sinister" too literally, but it DID make for good story telling. Claremont again with plenty of "character building" issues under his belt.
Complete with a back cover picture of the following issue in #222, and the buildup issue #207 with the classic claw marks, some decent copies that I may try to find slabbed for the run. The Wolverine is getting in a workout each day and keeping trim! There will always be someone bigger, quicker and stronger, be aware of how you treat others.

WHOA! 1st Jubilee Appearance, at 9.0? Ah man! I was jamming out to trading into the LCS to cover losses that had my vision blurred more than the effects of Jubilee's fireworks! HA! HA! I had overpaid for some stuff, so I decided to trade in some stuff that I had under paid for: Last Ronin 1 1st print for $5 and Venom Lethal Protector for $5 as well, and I threw in a Ms. Marvel 2014 #1 that I had found for $50! $65 total with taxes, then paid $20 cash on top of that Ha! This 9.0 was $85! Still this character in the animated series was fun loving and with a good heart. She needed guidance sometimes, as I sometimes do with my collection, but most every X-man did! The animated series found her helpless a lot of the time, although she did have good fortune. Sabretooth got the best of her at first, but good thing the Wolverine had stuck behind to trash the place in a fight with Creed. They even had a muzzle on Sabretooth in later issues and tried to rehabilitate him. Much to Wolverine's displeasure! Poor Wolverine, they always trash Magneto and Xavier's enemies, but when it comes to Logan, he takes a back seat. Why can't old Chuck (Charles Xavier) be a little more understanding of it all.
Complete with a back cover picture of the under copy that didn't fare as well! It is a welcomed addition all the same to have been a part of the collection story!

1st Jim Lee art on X-men and it's the uncanny version even! I acquired this at Fan Expo Dallas 2021 from a generous dealer that let it go for $55! Woot Woot, about the only haggling I did was with that dealer, deals are made when you're going broke on day 2! Haha. Jim Lee had an original "style" all while mostly remaining classic in execution. When he went to Image later, he'd experiment more, but his initial style and art was more appreciated, in my opinion. It holds up and holds true, this is the art that I grew up with, and while it had a different kind of "shading", it definitely had appeal and held my attention. Jim Lee got his start and is still alive and kicking out work currently in 2021. That is a long span, and with many attractive and sought after issues under his belt, that is a work composition to be proud of! It gets done one day at a time, and one foot in front of the other.
Complete with a back cover picture of the insides of this issue from my under copy! Given to me in the Boards Gift Exchange by boardie, "Grendelbo!" Circa 2023, and I'm super happy for the reader as a memento of generosity! Wolverine sliding up to the plate to "take some shots!" Glug glug!

Signed by Jim Lee 4/2/17 Gambit was my favorite on the X-men Cartoon as a kid. My first ever Jim Lee sig, glad to have it! It was one of the few times that I've bought a raw off eBay to submit for signing to CGC. I even messaged the seller, who advertised it as a 9.0, that it indeed came back 9.2! In order to thank them for the book! It boosted my spirits coming back to me praise God, then later after a press and remarque it got 9.4! Even Better! Done by none other than Gambit creator Jim Lee, on November 1st, 2021. In house CGC signings usually give expectations fulfilled and with a lowly 9.4, that is a .2 bump after press, I'm Super grateful and HAPPY. Gambit has a hint of fire in those eyes in real time, I hoped the pic picks it up, yet the outline of white is an added bonus! I prefer this to the blank sketches that were offered by this in house signing, as it shows a bit of character and nostalgia for me.
Complete with a back cover picture of my scrapbooking days as a kid! The two lovers were made for walking and that's all they can do! Perhaps some "meet-up" in the Savage Lands is in order, where powers are more in control for the touchy-feely types! People seemed to tire of their romance, but it did get mentioned a lot with only a slow progression toward any resolve. I understand how that can be viewed as "getting old!"

Jim Lee Classic? Well, it's pretty neat featuring the Wolverine alongside Black Widow and the Captain America! In the Jim Lee style, when you think modernish age, you can think Jim Lee X-men! Those lines and curves "drew" many a reader and Gawker to the run. This issue is more cover only, with main characters widely used today. Black Widow is currently movie related, while Captain America may or may not be using the name under a different character. Who is to say if the Wolverine will see another X-men? These classic covers and issues of first bringing them together hold the line, as they are the character building that we love to see. They seem to clash as well, but the drama and different set up or delivery is what we long to see with comic books and comic characters. As well with writers, everyone has a different view of what it all should be, and or, portray!
Complete with a back cover picture of how Joe Jusko Masterpiece Collection art book portrays the Black Widow. On certain bodily shaped women short hair is sporty and or attractive, and it certainly would help when in a fight, as the hair would not get in the way. Unlike the men she doesn't wear a mask covering her hair and face. Looking good! Even in a water wash downpour of color on a gloomy day, she brings the cheer and "Let's Do This" attitude!

1st appearance of Bishop, Malcolm, and Randall, cameo last page. Another integral part of the X-men the animated series cartoon! To see these people in action spelled trouble for Apocalypse! Alongside Cable most of the time it was exciting. The X-men wondered what possible timelines could occur and contemplated the very existence of their future alongside these new allies! Yes, the Bishop cometh, much like Cable, but with his own extraction team. Bishop has come to fight alongside and defend the X-men of the future. He originally thought one would betray and sought to seek that one out, only to fix it and there be other issues. Alongside the character Forge in the future, the 2 are like Cable and his onboard computer. Constantly seeking out new timelines and future civilizations, to boldly go where no other Mutant has gone before, literally.
Complete with a back cover picture (spoiler alert) of the mutant that was thought to betray the X-Men! Gambit the wheeling and dealing Cajun! Supplied via Christmas by my brother circa 2023. Deal him in!

light rippling/warping full bottom of whole book;

1st full appearance of the Bishop! A time traveler similar to Cable, he makes a difference to the timeline. A key character to the Apocalypse saga in the X-men Cartoon. I'm glad to add this to my collection. So much fun with that series! In older label Near Mint style, the X-men question the newcomer, only to find his "story" unbelievable. Surely not the disaster the Bishop speaks of. Bishop who can take any energy force and absorb it to send upon its sender. A formidable foe and ally, it will take time and a few issues to sort it all out. Expertly cast in the animated series, he seemed just as frustrated and disgruntled as the Cable. Always finding new deficiencies and not finding the story plausible to what he knew. It is in a constant state of change, can anyone thusly truly know the future? It is just as inevitable as the day-to-day struggles play out.
Complete with back cover picture of a still high-grade double of the book, showing the insides this time and of the first couple splash pages. It's the Bishop a leader in a role to beat time!
