Set Description:

Picture April 1964, Ed is just about age 8. His Mom brings him a 4 pack of DC comics as a gift. They include: Action 310 (not a key issue, but Supergirl does re-unite with her Kryptonian parents); Lois Lane 49 (Lois as Cinderella); Jimmy Olsen 76 (a legion storyline) and...Superboy 112. With a cover of Superbaby flying out of a serving tray displaying his powers to strangers!

Of these 1st 4 DC comics, I still own 3 of the original books my Mom gave me. I had already been watching the Superman TV show reruns every day after school and I was strolling around Buffalo playgrounds with a red towel pinned to my shirt. The Superboy comic is framed above my desk. Also above my desk is the Superman shirt my Mom made for me with a blue sweat shirt and a red iron on jean patch and she really did the "S" justice.

So to do the Superboy "thing" justice, here's what I have. I have a copy of More Fun 104, Superboy's 1st Cover, and of the original Superboy series I have all but a handful, raw.

In CGC form, I own # 1, Number 10 (1st appearance of Lana Lang) # 20 (an early Jor-el cover), and after that, most of what would be considered "Superboy Keys"--Legion appearances or 1st appearances of the future heroes before they joined the Legion--this includes the 1st Pete Ross, Mon-el and Ultra boy; youthful villains like the Kryptonite Kid or Dev-em; Krypto and Superboy fighting all sorts of nemesis, and all the Superboy Giants I could acquire!

So this run, as a CGC run will not get completed as I would rather complete my raw run 1st, but like all my CGC collections, I have a reader copy (even for the # 1 and # 10!) paired with virtually each CGC issue I own!
