A book given to me as a raw comic by musteatbrains a boardie after a grading contest! 1st Legion. There has been a series or two in production etc. I cherish this cover because it scared the snot out of me as a kid, and the story isn't much of a comfort either! I mentioned that to a Local Comic Store owner who just grunted. Not all reading is happy fun time, even at Good Ole Marvel! Frightening ha! It keeps you looking though. The screen time it got was pretty cool, and I'm sure they had fun. It doesn't often fit the mood to keep on watching. Like the artist, it's an acquired taste. That will be won over in sketch covers and or a little variety. Getting used to it can cause appreciations for the uniqueness but there was also the uniqueness of the characters used. Legion by this New Mutants artist, Bill, is an example, and another is Elektra. It had some flair for the time that hasn't been repeated to my knowledge.
Complete with back cover picture of the continued 2nd and 3rd appearance reader copies, they were readily available. As this character is kind of creepy, the covers prove that thought or theory, kind of anyway as it just seems so abstract. Still the 80's were inspiring for new art, now seems simmered down, whether due to being older or more experienced.

1st Cable, Stryfe, and Mutant Liberation Front. He Played an intricate role in X-men the animated series and among the theatrical releases. Where would I be without the Apocalypse war phenom that was the time travel saga?!? It was all very interesting and hit home with some seriousness and some much-needed mutant help! These early Cable issues took off kind of like a rocket. A much smaller rocket than would be considered a rise in value today. Still, it has kept its value for a long time, just no real big rise. The fun with time travel is keeping it coherent, and to sum it up later, that is hard. The Apocalypse was just really fun to find out about, but hard to defeat. It was because of Cable and Bishop, and in "time", pun intended, that was all she wrote. They have since been around the block with a couple of uses, but again time altering is a touchy subject.
Complete with that strap on armor of a back cover Marvel card picture, full throttle! Back cover pic of how Marvel fleshed out the look of a full-bodied Cable on the trading cards that were all the rage.

SS by Rob Leifeld on 4/22/17. 1st Appearance of Deadpool (Wade Wilson), and some would argue Domino or Copycat, with Gideon as well! I don't care if some think Liefeld is a terrible artist, he struck gold! Needed at the time and Deadpool's introduction against Cable really hit home as a needed introduction and exchange for me! This series was quick and ended after a few more and more issues. It was ended with a hit on its hands, but it wouldn't be until much later that everything was taken into account. There was more to be continued or added upon. There was an ongoing series in 1997 with Deadpool leading the charge, but that was a long wait after this issue. #98 has spiked more recently in full force. Deadpool continues on in X-force after this appearance. Still there are just many copies of #98, it took a long time for people to read the character building that was added to the Deadpool persona.
Complete with back cover picture of the Marvel Select statue that I picked up for $25 + tax at Half Price Books, a noob purchase but revered all the same, there is a variant with a mask less version of Deadpool as well.
