1st appearance of the Living Brain. Fantastic Four appearance in backup story. I bought this as a raw from Local Comic Shop Keith's Comics. I was all in raw and slabbing for $285! Win! It spent some quality time at CGC, probably due to the great price increase of 2022, yet I'm glad to soon have it delivered to add the pic. This was a win all around, as I had hopes for it, but thought it more like 2.5/2.0. Ha-ha. I'm stoked for 4.0, as this is "early Spider-man" at its finest. To think we have come so far with technology, that these innovative story books of old speak to the inspiration for today. I read this story as a kid in Spider-man Classics, a series that in the late 80's I had a comic subscription too. Nice to have this memento as a reminder of simpler times, when there was no type of real time tracking for mail. A modern marvel was the USPS back then, as online tracking proves today! Indeed, the inner workings of some business are now more apparent and public, and now it shows as a throwback to remind me of how long I've lived and what I've experienced personally!

Steve Ditko! I finally snagged me one, the 1st appearance of Mysterio. Stan Lee Story, even reading classic reprints as a kid the intrigue was phenomenal. Yes, before his time Ditko knocked it out with the trickster of Mysterio. Somehow, someway, this is other worldly. Doing the impossible, before it was thought possible, and all for the sake of taking down an Amazing Spider-man. The threat is real, and Spider-man cannot believe his eyes. Even in the movies and cartoons the Mysterio is formidable, got to be my 2nd favorite villain, if just for originality. Given the scope of what was only possible back then, way to GO! DITKO! He made it his own and with great success, to Stan's credit too! It takes a duo to give feedback and house ideas that eventually became the Marvel we know. Not all one man's accomplishment but by the coming together that the books wrote about! Success!
Complete with back cover picture of the prescreen pass of, "Spider-man: Far from Home!" I finally tracked it down in my emails, to see the movie before it hit theaters. My early days of prescreens, it was also a dine in theater, I took my mom for my early birthday! Bought her a milk shake! Yahoo! An awesome time and flick!

1st full appearance of Mary Jane Watson, with the Origin of Rhino! A Dave & Adams find, glad to have this as Mary Jane was the only Peter Parker Girl that was quoted to be sexy enough to keep around. Gwen Stacy was too goody two shoes according to creators. Stan Lee you dog! Lol Dubbed by Jerry Seinfeld, "Rhino-plasty, really? The person is already aware there is a problem. Rhino?" Yes, the Rhino charges, bucks, and bronc's and keeps Spidey on his toes, until one blow. Winded, it is now the Spider's turn, bobbing and weaving, they take turns. I hope Mary Jane will console; we've got to give some space for the story to grow. A Campbell print to top it off of everyone's loyal girl, Mary Jane Watson, and if ever to be, the official Mrs. Parker! She won the old softy but sometimes stubborn Spidey over, when gets his personality out of his own sarcastic brain!
Complete with a back cover picture! Mary Jane in the modern age for sure, but her and Parker first met in the silver age. Bought at Fan Expo Dallas in 2018, I believe, with a 3 pack of prints for $60 from J Scott Campbell's booth. It was nice to visit his table and talk shop. J. Scott Campbell signed print.

Origin and 1st appearance of the Shocker. (Herman Schultz). Peter Parker moves into an apartment with Harry Osborn. The road of best intentions? Poor Harry will be deemed nutzo by the time everything is figured out, and good old Spider-man will have a time keeping his secret identity, you know, a secret! Shocker or shocking! The villains were out in the night knowing what we know now or had ideas of suspicions about Parker, but then and there, it was perfectly normal to keep up the secrecy to all! According to Peter Parker who is trying to sort it all out, through emotional turmoil, questions arise. Like, who do you trust? Peter Parker is finding out what it means to be the person underneath the mask, he's not the only one. Many a time these costumed "heroes" will be deemed villains, and some actually are? If James Jonah Jameson has anything to say about it, these are all the stories that matter! Time will come for these, can't help but buy Silver Age!
Complete with a back cover picture of information about where you get a battery recharge, with the prescreen pass before released publicly to theaters of, "The Current War!" Featuring Tesla as an innovator and Edison as a go getter! A "Shocker" of a story between claims to fame and keeping inventions hush hush lest they be copied or beaten to the punch!

1st appearance of the Kingpin! (Wilson Fisk) Signature series, by Stan Lee on 10/6/16 and John Romita Senior on 10/26/16. I bought this off the Dave and Adams Website for cheap. Glad to have an Amazing Spider-man Story with an authenticated signature signed and written by Stan the man, and signed by John Romita too. Their original story and art are my mainstay! Getting better day by day, these Romita and Lee are frequently spooling out the yarn. Responsibility? No More? Had all you can stands, you don't say? Peter Parker realizes you can't run from it all! Turn one avenue off, you'll become more focused, but it doesn't all just go away. You've got to take your lumps and make the best of it. Realizations such as these and the morals they entail can prove to Peter's credit, the balance with the Spider-Man will always be instrumental in a big picture kind of way.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "The Outfit!" This movie and comic are similar circumstances where an "outfit" started it all. Spider-Man throws his costume in the trash only to have it retrieved and rumors spread, while in the film it means the mob! It is safe to say that this is the issue of the first appearance of Kingpin the mobster!

1st Avengers! Signed by Stan Lee! On 10/31/15. That's HALLOWEEN! I tried a new Local Comic Shop, Comics Asylum! Sitting there perched was this beauty! Love the few and far between times that I can "afford" a BIG book, and in complete "Universal" grade, I'll take it! I had to make a trade, however, for this comic. I came away satisfied! Sometimes we've got to put in the time and effort for the accumulation of worthwhile books for trades! I believe they're worth it! I've seldom spent over $500 for any comic. It takes the guess and the foreknowledge for newer valued books to be traded for something as established as the AVENGERS! Assemble your comics and go down to those trusty dealers? Hey! I came away with a win, to be sure. We shall see in the long run, and I feel confident. Making this Avengers addition to the collection is great to keep in grade, as far as I'm concerned, even in lowly in 0.5! It's an awesome signature series by Stan Lee, and I'm the proud new owner.

1st appearance of Ultron-5 Crimson Cowl revealed as the dreaded Ultron. There have been Movies and I've read Ultron stories, he's a serious villain with some serious MOJO!! He's out for blood, and when he finds out about ADAMANTIUM in issue #66 LOOK OUT! That is one tough hombre, dare I say "ULTIMATE" tough! Though that phrase and name would be used later in comics, these hero's somehow find the loophole to hold off devastation for another day. This is what good character building is supposed to do. Make a team actually work as a team, good writing. Things like this will always be sought by those who experienced the awesomeness of plausibility. It takes a good back and forth to make it work, but on its own sometimes seems a simple idea. Thank God for ongoing series and mainstays like the Avengers and so forth, that carry on the legacy to see ideas hashed out and brought to fruition! Complete with the Movie Treatment, Ultron has been around as a formidable foe since the Silver Age of Comics. Always thwarted so far, and this time by some unlikely Avengers. Getting stories and plots under the belt so to speak and fleshed out but not quite the ultimate foe specifically to the Avengers.

Origin and 1st appearance of the Falcon (Sam Wilson) and Redwing. Red Skull appearance. M.O.D.O.K. cameo. Sammy is the next sidekick up for determination and skill, the trial by fire! Presented here as the Falcon! He's got a sidekick himself the Redwing, and are they all here to help the Captain America? Will they branch out? Will they or can they make some initiatives of their own? Given one is an animal or bird, we'll have to make allowances. It's the heart of the matter and the transition seemingly after Bucky, but they will end up big names all their own. Complete with some Light tan to off white pages, I got a good deal. Bought from boardie STORMSHADOW_80 at $220 shipped. Glad to have this 1st in the collection and now completes the 1st and 2nd app that are back-to-back issues! It is good to have friends that will help out with a collection.

Origin and 1st appearance of Daredevil (Matt Murdock). 1st appearance of Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. Like waking up to good news and the smell of bacon? That is the turnabout we find ourselves in when life changing events test the gospel within us to prove what is that good and acceptable will. Trusting in Faith and that it takes not only us to overcome but to see the events before us as opportunities to work out that salvation, even in blind justice. Such has befallen Mr. Murdock in the ways in which love is the tie that binds, while friends will come together and work out the marveling acrobats that it takes to instill a hero mentality. Not always easy, but the Good News is in the details and fine lines of years of travail that has put before us, "Daredevil: The Man Without Fear!" An event that promises that even the smallest seeds of hope while being in trials can leave us with a purpose, that is to carry out what we have Faith in! God knows we couldn't do it on our own, it takes the trust and patience to have that acceptable right standing perfected!

Matt Murdock's father's funeral is in this issue, which many children would, like in this film of "IF", try to expound to others the benefit of friends and even if it is the "imaginary" variety. Coping and searching oneself to be self-evident. Believing is seeing the childlike faith and seeing is believing in childlike faith, but Daredevil will live to trust the spirit of TRUTH AGAIN! By starting a law firm, Murdock will need the childlike faith to see the good in everyone and to stand firm in justice, which is when you've put away childish ways but have also discarded the critical spirit that weighs heavy in exchange for hope! Starring Deadpool's own Ryan Reynolds, who has a fun attitude and is fun loving in real-time too! Keeping that hope and joy alive, while being "mature!"

1st Frightful Four! Against the Fantastic Four, 1st appearance of Medusa. We get a look into the process of how villains may not always be the bad guy! This is classic Stan and Kirby. Medusa has used her powers for good over the years, although here in her first appearance she is on the side of evil. The other members haven't fared as well over the years, which is worth pointing out. Keeping true to Fantastic Four style, we meet them as the good guys who are almost caught off guard. These 2 foursomes are equally matched, and with the battle to ensue they keep each other guessing what to do next. Mr. Fantastic still has a few tricks up his sleeve. Old stretch neck and thingamabob keep sturdy, moving invisibly behind the flaming scenes! Some can find "good" in themselves, like Medusa, and the results speak louder when actions are applied. Something will light the bulb! It takes a one-way switch, hopefully, because you don't want to be wishy washy!
Complete with a back cover picture of some newly formed "Underdogs!" A prescreen pass before released to theaters, that can show how we use extracurricular activities in our downtime. Being underdogs in more ways than one, one can prove your worth to overcome the bad negatives. One day at a time to recompense yourself a reward, that's winning and diligence in action!

1st appearance of the Inhumans (Black Bolt, Crystal, Karnak, and Triton), also 1st appearance of Lockjaw. I got this from the CGC boardie, "Bird." Super GLAD to add this Stan Lee Story and Jack Kirby plus Joe Sinnott art to my collection! The Fantastic Four lined up under a starry sky cover! With a sweet Sep 10, 1965, date stamp on the back cover! These crazy villain teams keep coming and the Fantastic Four scramble each time, but seemingly can stay on top of any situation. The Inhumans may make it to theater, if and when there are plans for the FF again. The Inhumans could be good guys given their involvement as of late, but who could wonder of their usefulness? After all the time finding ways to be a teacher, Mr. Fantastic has some verifiable ways of influence and use, but I mean the FF are usually fully funded and have purpose. Iron Man could be so lucky and would if he stayed humble! The Inhumans need character building, and a building to be based in to stand on their own!
Contemplating that Date Stamp, I think I like this back cover by itself, front cover not withstanding!

1st appearance of the Silver Surfer and the 1st cameo of Galactus. I really jumped on this as a noob, happy with my 3.5. I passed on this at Titan Comics, made it home and immediately changed my mind, and I drove back and bought this along with #49 & #50! It wasn't too much out pocket. This issue is Silver Surfer Gold in the Silver age, and I'm so glad that I didn't let it slip through my fingers! These issues where pivotal in history, ushering in the Surfer was the best thing for Stan Lee and created by Jack Kirby! It was reportedly his favorite character. The Silver Surfer was a space way's traveler who had been sent to prepare this world for Galactus as his Herald. Not one of Stan's own creations but he did speak of it fondly, although over the years there were events that looked like daring changes to his own characters, that I wonder if he would have approved. Written by Stan it must have felt worthy of his hand, and Kirby astounds by creating his "favorite!"
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of Amazon's "Challengers!" Starring Spider-Man's own Zendaya! The challenging part being of the tennis pros that herald attention, with deficits and tension that can "Cut Like a Knife" the Bryan Adams type tennis volley over the net is akin to the Surfer who contradicts the game design by finding passion elsewhere. He was on a mission but found love not in the way of which he was sent, but rather in the earthlings who had the chutzpah to stand against unbeatable odds! A 40/Love game, set, match if there ever was one, with a nod of the head and raise of the glass bottoms and surfs up!

2nd appearance and origin of the Black Panther, with a Stan Lee story, Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnot art. 1st Klaw appearance. Black Panther in the movies kind of surprised everyone, and I hope that he is here to stay! WE NEED THAT! Along with a raw copy to read, that has now been graded and accounted for, thankfully. Got this CGC 7.0 for $150 on eBay, but the experience was golden regardless. Movies can make or break sometimes, but now that people are getting back to collecting, it's for the better. I'm still grateful for the interest in the hobby and I have high hopes for it. Between LCS blowouts and sales, the saving money has been hard, although I've almost got used to it. Still the cost just over $100 is not as common, as when i got this #53 in 2017, now it is more and rising in 2022! The Black Panther joins up with the Fantastic Four, and Klaw is the common enemy.
Complete with a back cover picture of another FF book picked up at a sale this 2023, at Keith's Comics with issue #211. It had its views and hopes for value, but with only $19 out the door for a F/VF raw to read? I'll take it!

1st Appearance of the "Black Widow" (Natasha Romanoff) I believe that she actually starts off a "bad" person or "villain", but after the branding she is then rebranded for the Avengers!! Brought to life in the movie theater as essential and useful, does she survive Thanos? Ah a Detached Cover that is unfortunate. It still presents very well. Scarlett Johannsen did a very good portrayal in theaters, with somewhat of a passing of a torch. Black Widow as a character is a Karate Kicking female trained in several disciplines. She works in the Avengers, for the government, and on her own. She follows and leads towards goals of different cultures, usually with the mind to do well and good; to help save as a hero. She not only works but doesn't often enough find personal time. There has since been the 2nd appearance available, but it is not too easy in the wild.

1st Full Appearance of Peggy Carter and Ultimo. Supported my LCS (Titan Comics) during the coronavirus scare! He had just reopened in Texas. Peggy Carter played a role in the Avengers films. Poor CAP (Captain America) is smitten! Love, it is what makes the world go around. Captain America has been pretty faithful with his love interests too. From protecting to honoring their memory, to just fighting a never ending battle in the Name of America! Sometimes it is the early on infatuation that sticks. Don't forget Ultimo, taking to task the duo in the book. Hefty cover, tall and menacing. Tales of Suspense are classic issues that are mostly made up of older characters and villains. Very collectable and not always found in grade. Many firsts, as a lot of characters are getting their footing, are gaining experiences and character building too.
Complete with a back cover picture of a similar type run of issues that mirrored Tales of Suspense, which was called Tales to Astonish! There are some fun-loving firsts and cool covers to boot, they are both from Marvel, so they don't exactly compete in the market other than reading about loved characters! This is a $5 bin issue from the used bookstore found in 2017. Those were the days! Featuring the 1st app of Marvel's Boomerang character.
