1st issue, well kind of. It takes over where Tales of Suspense #99 left off. It features the Avengers whom the Black Panther is seeking. My old friend bought me a low-grade to read for my Birthday! It was a decent story, I was a little surprised actually, due to Captain America in the story! I didn't think my friend would go all out and I'm very appreciative to my friend for the gift. Still got to love Kirby and the innovative to take Captain America back to relevance! It isn't easy, as he did some team-ups and not that many solo stories of his "own title", well not since the Golden Age. The issues that bear his name in the title, only, here are short in this run, too. Captain America gets a new sidekick named Falcon, so what some consider a short run may differ. It is safe to say we've got to collect them all. This issue begins with a recap of Captain America's return as it was originally depicted in Avengers #4 before continuing with the story from which we left off in Tales of Suspense #99.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Old!" Similarly to a M. Night Shyamalan film Captain America with his super serum is once again ready to hit the streets! Can it have the same effect as before being trapped under ice, or will the continued story from "tales" of old prove more like the film with the horror twist? Ice kept Captain America young, but now it is the regular serum blood flowing! It is what it will take to be relevant to the modern reader! Bring on the Chris Evans of the world. ~ "I know that reference!"

Red Skull appearance. Half page ad for Silver Surfer #1. Got to be that the SKULL is on board and needs an appearance. A needed addition in "fine" grade within the collection. The Red Skull that is, the arch nemesis of good old Captain America! Here in the silver age that was completed later in 80's film type theatrics, then again in theaters after the year 2000's. We've got the whole gang, with more to come, but the appearances of the "skull" in my collection were severely lacking and I had to get with the program. A Dave and Adams find at $62 shipped. Looking for the collection and looking at silver age, it doesn't come as often this cheap! SCORE! This 2022 Christmas is shaping up according to the spirit that works within us, quickening in word and deed! Christmas cheer, it is serving up the goods. A Stan Lee story, with Jack Kirby and Dan Adkins cover and art.
Complete with a related back cover pic of the Civil War unopened trading cards with a surprise inside. "Slave of the Red Skull" is right! It holds true today that these can be obtrusive but necessary issues to discuss and collect, now with trading cards too. It takes a certain level of trust in us all. Keeping up diligent good work is to us its own reward!

Origin and 1st appearance of the Falcon (Sam Wilson) and Redwing. Red Skull appearance. M.O.D.O.K. cameo. Sammy is the next sidekick up for determination and skill, the trial by fire! Presented here as the Falcon! He's got a sidekick himself the Redwing, and are they all here to help the Captain America? Will they branch out? Will they or can they make some initiatives of their own? Given one is an animal or bird, we'll have to make allowances. It's the heart of the matter and the transition seemingly after Bucky, but they will end up big names all their own. Complete with some Light tan to off white pages, I got a good deal. Bought from boardie STORMSHADOW_80 at $220 shipped. Glad to have this 1st in the collection and now completes the 1st and 2nd app that are back-to-back issues! It is good to have friends that will help out with a collection.
Complete with a back cover picture of some "PoP's" that I've accumulated from trips to GameStop. This time it is with the Falcon! With healing in his wings for the franchise? Hopefully at least a justifiable means to an end and to become a time-honored tradition, as the mainstay takes some rest someone needs to keep up with the Truth, Justice, and the American Way!

light creasing to cover;
light pieces out to cover;

2nd Appearance of Falcon and Redwing. Letter from Steve Gerber with a Red Skull Appearance! A Duncanville Bookstore find priced right, at total cost raw and to slab under $100, and I am glad to add some Falcon and Redwing to the collection. They need more HEAT, a powerful addition that's been around for years! This is the Falcon we speak of that is innovative enough to team up with good ole Caps! With the Falcon's trusty sidekick, the "Redwing" the bird turned avenger of prey, these stories are just starting to heat up and no one missed "BUCKY!?!" What will bring good old Captain America around to the ways of justice, but the new bonds and abilities to get the job done whatever the cost! These inspirations draw themselves from the likes of Stan Lee, Joe Sinnott, and Gene Colan. A bullpen with experience that has proven themselves, but not without propriety!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Wicked Little Letters!" With a Steve Gerber letter in this issue of Captain America #118, in the letters page as a younger version, who grew up to work in comics, comics, comics! He went on to create Howard the Duck and write for Man-Thing and The Phantom Zone! The film of "Wicked Letters" itself shows the effects of gossip and exaggeration, that can inspire any reader, as fun loving as comics! A British cast film that is witty as a Duck like Howard, we all started somewhere!

light creasing to cover;
light soiling back cover;

Signed by John Romita Sr on 06/08/15 and Sal Buscema on 06/11/15! Given to me by the gracious boardie DocHoppus182 for helping him with the 2021 Secret Santa. Complete with yellow cover and yellow label! Quite the generous addition, and it is a GREAT ONE! Seeing as I didn't have enough or really "any" Red Skull covers at the time, I'm glad to have the "main" Captain America Bad Guy as a signature series. I was around for the Captain America film of the 80's, although I saw it years later, it had its ways of making "good" on the brand that is "team U.S.A!" It's always good when we can lend a hand. What a Book too! I offered a 2nd raffle prize to the 2021 The Sledder (boardie) run raffle. GOT TO PAY IT FORWARD! No pressable defects but the gift is what matters most! Good to have friends think of your collection to want to contribute when able!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "Operation Finale!" I took my mom to see this one of the true stories that tell of the bad guys being nabbed! Complete with trial excerpts at the end!

1st appearance of Marvel Man (Wendell Vaughn, later becomes Quasar). Texas Twister, Blue Streak & Vamp app. Some Captain America flights of fancy, as the adrenaline hero comes to face with a "Marvel Man" appearance! Strange things are in the works for this the bronze age, and not everyone knows what will become of the spark in interest. Marvel Man goes on to become Quasar, which I have when he changes his name in the collection, it only makes "sense" that I have the original iteration as well. Nicely captured in CGC 8.5, this VF+ will fit nicely in my collection! Picked up in 2023 for a little more than I could have paid, but it was in trade to the LCS Awesome Comics. I just needed some time to offload and recoup from collecting "moderns" and to get back to my roots of consecutive and consistent appearances and grades. I'll take it for the win, here in 2023! I bought it already slabbed, but it appears that it had a bad press job when submitted according to the grader's notes.
Complete with a back cover picture of, Joe Jusko Masterpiece Collection an art book only, "Quasar!" Got to love those childhood copies, sometimes they're useful and after we admired them when young!

1st appearance of Madcap. Captain Britain & Nomad appearance. This is the "MADNESS" that I bought this! LCS's motto to haggle had me hooked. Does it do the registry points any good? Not necessarily. Does it make me wish that I had bought some severely timed slabs at the bottom of a bell curve? Sometimes. Not always, as sometimes you have to go after the lost sheep! Be it a Madcap of a character or not! Classic or made that way imo by the Deadpool series, when I got back into collecting circa 2014ish. The character that basically started it all but not for the story, but in that his silliness captivated the true heart of hatters the world over. Even the Deadpool series had that character in its feather dust parables, that in itself owes the true sensory perception of all the trusted thoughts in comics, as all is not what it seems, or it is knowledge not your own. Sometimes we own up to things and sometimes it is beyond us to perceive the conception of knowledge! Madness!
Complete with a back cover picture of some cool readable copies, some minor firsts, in the key of David too! Cleft of the rock has some readable very fines picked up for $2 a piece.

Steve Rogers resigns as Captain America. Super-Patriot appearance. Who knows to what lengths Steve Rogers has stuffed those weary battled thoughts over the years. He is mostly on the cause of the good and the right, and with the volume of his experience, that is saying a lot. The Dungeon Masters of those worldly battles weigh heavy on hearts and minds that here Steve is giving it a rest in the cliff notes of the moniker, Captain America. We all know now that this doesn't prove permanent, time helps heal, and like this issue we too can become overwhelmed. Dragons have not yet appeared as unstoppable! Picked up this 2024 November and from Titan Comics for $30. A nice respite before the holidays take over, and long live the carols of freedom fought for! We still need time for family, friends and cheer; don't let it pass you by, be the best you can and lean hard after having some lean hard on you.
Complete with a back cover picture of the "screen" at the prescreen of the movie before released publicly of, "Dungeons & Dragons!" To show that even black holes can have the care for each other's wellbeing between the years of adventures! May the moniker be cheer and "Hark the Herald Angel's Sing!"

Super-Patriot (Johnny Walker) becomes the new Captain America. No, it isn't a Jack Daniel's drinking game, a patriot is here to pick up the pieces that are scattered now that the main man has set aside his moral duty. Some names are just too important to lay dormant, and this Johnny Walker will not become a doormat! Instead, he has chosen to carry on the name of truth and justice, with a cover that shows the ghostly like departure, when the Legos won't stack in one's favor then another must muster courage to alleviate the danger by taking a replacement! Bought this early November 2024 from Titan comics for $25 and a little courage myself on this rainy weekend, to get out smell the cheer, eww, and enjoy the rain to wash some cares away before the business of the holidays! All noble things that a Captain America represents, and shows the peace that was fought for and the American way.
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass to the movie before released to theater of, "Piece by Piece!" A Lego story propping up the legendary Pharrell Williams who is a singer/artist that has some joy and kick in his step to regale of those freedoms that took courage, lightheartedness, and some overall kicking off the dust. A musical type of representation of the free-for-all that a Captain America would fight for!

Taskmaster appearance. The gentlemen of patriots made captains and fellow honorary hero are out for warfare, now that they have put to peace the retiring of Mr. Rogers. They want to be everyone's neighbor by highlighting their duties and taking up some mantles left behind. It may be difficult, and the missions have been underway, to locate their hero duties as it calls. Picked up this November 2024 from Titan comics, for $25, and a nice stoke in the fire as the holidays prove to be in course for feasting and celebrations. Family times to talk comics, prepare food and overall register in the registry on a scale of how much to indulge. Funds being tight we need be grateful and thankful for all that is provided and make the best of the rest as it is all unto that Higher Power for Glory! Captain America needed his time out to gain perspective and that is all that we really can do for ourselves as well!
Complete with a back cover picture of the "screen" at the prescreen of the movie before public, "Ungentlemanly Warfare!" Who else but a good Captain America knows with what scrutiny it is required to take up arms for peace and freedom, against those who are not able, it takes a convincing by and through whomever has the Captain America title!

bend right bottom of back cover.

John Walker becomes U.S. Agent. Battlestar & Fabian Stankowitz appearance. Coming out of the reservoir to become and yet another. U. S. Agent is taking it back for good 'ole Cap, by way of switching gears and hitting into second gear. It spawned this run and arc to mean a statement of how reliable the Captain America issues could be, in order to switch it up and engage readers by the time it was all sorted out. A lot of claims come over the airwaves for newcomers and new heroes to be, and if they need travail through a past moniker or titles victory, they still fight in the name of justice. Bought this circa 2024 for $30 out the door, as I had picked up a few from Titan in the issue numbers #330's, so it seemed like a nice way to cap off those purchases of asking, seeking, and knocking for those doors to the next to be open! "A.S.K." It is hopefully a window to opportunity.
Complete with a back cover picture of the "screen" at the prescreen of, "Where Did You Go Bernadette!" A mother circling too many jobs while juggling family finds new circumstances, and even though she cannot let go, then finds her family circling back to support. Within victories there are the individuals they affect, and not all circumstances are with intent in and of themselves, or even circumspect but to hold on to through the transitions we hopefully find the fruit of respect! Starring Cate Blanchett! I brought my mom to this one for some bonding type, it was tearful, which turned to joy.
Grader Notes:
very light cover tanning;
very light spine stress lines to cover.
