Angel has more heel arc's that he gets nicknamed Archangel. Fun in the sun! Those wedding fever wave splashes bringing in the subtleties?
Jean Grey as the old Ms. Marvel is about to go through the criteria for her resume that will, too, make her a leader, and with Storm heading up as a leader example! Catching them all can sometimes label a thief or a leader, and it depends on context or intent, but when the chips are down, then count on the X-men to fall back and line up under the Good Shepherd before going forward to victory.
These are the Variants of the Bronze, where 30 centers will dominate the completeness. Not to be outdone there are eyes on 35 centers if one can obtain. This Phoenix Run is the most nostalgia worthy I own. With many a sought-after addition and more for my own childhood completeness, the satisfaction of knowing: "There may be many like it, but these are yours!" Face Front! ~ Stan Lee.
This hits the nostalgia nerve with the Animated Series for me, and most importantly, the sincere recognition and legacy of both the X-men I grew up with and read!

These times are hard for price variants, with cost being a factor one must think on their feet or trade up! Some trades made sense for me, but fitting in with the whole run itself is also a factor. One day at a time, as it is the thrill of the hunt on display!
"Last time on X-men!"
A caption that introduced most episodes of the cartoon animated series of the X-men! The early 90's took us by surprise without much in the way of internet, so we were surprised and felt like royalty that something so impactful was in production. It called to mind with more clarity what it was we had read, and with what spirit, motive, or inclination we could receive it. Times were fresh off the Ninja Turtles, and some growing up was in order, even to graduate from Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters! Allowing us to see new and different struggles, that almost made our day-to-day pale by comparison, but that is to say how attentive we were, and we had to keep a close eye on the screen and catch all the episodes!

Mark Jeweler. 2nd appearance of New X-men: Night Crawler, Storm, Colossus. Wanted a copy, really any copy at the time, but a Mark Jeweler Insert copy hit the sweet spot! Glad to own this Gil Kane and Dave Cockrum Cover that is iconic and more the X-men that I know. They are a rambunctious bunch! A sort of "beginning" of the "run" after the hit of Giant Size X-men #1 and the 1st appearance of these characters. They've been Lost in Space, Danger Will Robinson. A classic style cover of grave importance to the next coming issues. The "new" X-men are having to work as a team, and it will be beneficial if they can learn that lesson as quick as possible. Banshee is on the cover and comes in handy, which is an older member along with Cyclops. I remember getting the '89 pilot episode of the animated cartoon called "Pryde of the X-men" on VHS as a kid and thinking, "How did this not picked up straight away? Oh, that's Awesome!" It was an action-packed fighting Magneto story, and the late 80's Pilot turned into an eventual early 90's animated series, which had newer characters. That was more the rendition I remember and grew up with in my youth.
 Banshee ends up with fellow type sirens, and even of the female variety.
Complete with a back cover picture of the Marvel Card since CGC is grading those. Only a few covers with the mutant the Banshee on the cover, so a Marvel Card of Banshee that can show close ups. Banshee uses his yell to fly!

3rd Appearances of the New X-Men. "Death of Thunderbird". So early in the revamped run and someone "dies?" No matter, the X-men will recover. Glad I own the 3rd story experience of the "NEW" X-men. I also own a raw copy for reading, because it is such an intricate and exciting cover that I just wanted a well-centered copy with white pages. Glad to make that happen. Sometimes or in the past these books may have seemed common even. The LCS would get them in from time to time, but not as much as of late. I do not remember Thunderbird from the animated series, although he does remind me of a Street Fighter character from the self-titled video games. Must have been a "go to" name for Native Americans back then, even the appearance or the way the characters are depicted too. Still had a lot of fond memories for that signature look and brand. Cool, collective, and mindful of honor and spirit.
 Wristbands carve out stamps for prescreens.
 Warpath on the "war hunt", Jim Lee style!
Complete with a back cover picture of a similar to the set completion motif, with "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1!" A prescreen pass before it hit theaters publicly. X-Men aren't the only marvels with death defying stunts. With the death in this comic of Thunderbird, the "reckoning" now is that the Wolverine will replace and join the team, and that is the real disgruntled twist that took and stuck in the plot going on decades now! Released in the Dead of Summer in the theater, but with aero pragmatic HVAC Balance compression tests that should be afforded at this point everywhere in modern times, also with short sleeved shirts that are worn in the Lord, we abide.

1st appearance of Moira McTaggert. An interesting science character on the animated series, she would be flushed out again during the Apocalypse saga. She is a geneticist scientist and an expert in mutant affairs. In this one she is helpful when the Phoenix comes along, to kind of help reign in and let Jean Grey be in control most of the time. Moira works on Muir Island, I believe in or near Genosha, and is a friend of Charles Xavier, but whose specialty is for mutants. Love the character, a simple yet possible flirtation opportunity for Xavier. She gets her hands around certain things planned for mutants before anyone else. She has her pulse on the "market" so to speak, or if anything weird comes up, she can put her expertise to good use. She comes around often enough to at least warn Charles Xavier more often than not, she does have secrets too from time to time.
 He's a Christian or somewhat, after being thought otherwise by regulars.
Complete with a back cover picture of remembering that people like Nightcrawler are mutants, that can't walk around unnoticed. A usually gentle and faithful soul, with a kind heart; however, shows the blue fur that inhibits normal every day as a regular "Joe!" Nightcrawler has proved himself useful as a hero!

Return of Havok & Polaris.1st appearance of Lilandra (face is not shown). Eric the Red appearance. I have the X-men issue of #51 & #52, where there was an Eric the Red appearance, apparently the one here is "different". Just before the Phoenix arrives, Charles Xavier has started having "visions", and he is perplexed with other strange happenings. Who could this be from another world or maybe even time? Charles learns that this is a Queen named Lilandra! She is out for protecting the universe, and she has stumbled on to the Phoenix and the dangers accompanied with her/it. No time to lose! Lilandra enlists the help of Xavier and the X-men to prove that the threat is real. Indeed, it will take a trial by fire of sorts, in the end, it will cost everyone a piece of their "life force" to keep a good girl from getting down. Resurrections are in fact possible, and for the X-men, an important agreement.
 Lilandra herself also has someone named Deathbird close to her Shiar Empire trying to usurp the power by their "normal" means.
Complete with a back cover picture of, "Lilandra" herself from the Marvel Collection comic books that ran wild in the 90's, with artist expressions and this one by Jim Lee! She's a looker! I can see why Xavier thought so much of her.

Jack Kirby & Stan Lee cameo in 2 panels. Sentinels' appearance. Chris Claremont story. Dave Cockrum & Sam Grainger art. Dave Cockrum cover. With the news of mutants spreading like wildfire, they are becoming tested and tried. With new members that could appear stronger, more willing, or loyal to a cause they will subsequently learn if they can muster the stamina for the job! Atop buildings or just causing reasons for "new" construction all around town, these "newer" members will stand up for their right to party. Clapping back as to defend the good and the right, as opposed to the destruction. Invigorating others, as to stir the idea that mutants are here to stay, and it is not at all their fault the damaging winds upon the earth, it instead causing them to be counted as heroes for the likes of brotherly love. Xavier has tried to instill those moral concepts individually and as a group, and certain members gain the spirit of excellence slower than others.
 Jim Lee Style! They Get Cyclops as a leader more in the future, but these Phoenix issues built the criteria for a resume!
Complete with a back cover picture of the torch being passed on into the "Marvel Legends!" Stan Lee and Jack Kirby starting it all and with a cameo appearance this issue, it was time to sign over the excellency of the X-men to foretell of the exciting rising from the ashes that would be, "This time, on X-men!"

30 Cent Variant! This completes this run, wasn't too much trouble to put together, but in reality, it took time, time to find some affordable choices. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby cameos as well! In 2 panels? I'll take it! This 3.0 is right in the zone, as I traded about $40 worth of books and then the cost to slab, $75 total. Perfectly valid in value, but more importantly it takes the last one I needed and puts it in the collection and my registry. I only need 16 more books to complete this set out of 53! That seems the most I've done in a run so far, but with a few still to pick-up. I have many more "books in a single set" with others in the registry, however this X-men Phoenix saga is the most viable for me. Given the X-men adventures animated show growing up was just so impactful to me and my brother, very much a bonding experience that brought us together on Saturday mornings. All the more important that the comics are just as good or better than the animated, yet we all have nostalgia from and for childhood.
 Towering over and abrupt in entry, wherever and whenever, Jim Lee style and looking like in X-men the Animated Series.
Complete with a back cover picture of the 90's "Storm" and style with flair as her comfort zone. She must have a costume that looks formidable in wind; although, the lightning on the cover I'm sure is doing the trick!

1st Appearance of Black Tom Cassidy. A Reece Comics find, late in 2023, with the times a changing it's nice to go back and complete some things that have been on the back burner. The Tom Cassidy paradox in the cartoon proved to be a brute of root and toot fancy! He is a Lightfoot that likes to take what is easy, but Xavier has the team that will sure keep after it to return things to normal. If it may ever be, but those are the breaks when an X-men comes a calling. Bought for $140 shipped, and that can come as an exposé in and of itself, but when coming close to obtaining something sought after, it should excite! At least burn a fire or two to get it accomplished to find it successful. That trust with collecting that almost diminishes when nearing completing, unless a new passion is found that will, as said, rekindle. That's almost too bittersweet, but it proves the feeling of patience to wait for the RIGHT BOOKS for memories!
 What better for the "Cyclops" strut of a cover than the one-eyed Pokémon beachball, got to catch them all! Choosing the leader is to choose You for the mission and with teams of Blue and Gold.
Complete with a back cover picture of the possibilities, in Marvel Trading Card fashion now that CGC grades those, that are able to happen with Cyclops Optic Blast! Similar to this issue #99 cover, he's turned up full blast but unable to escape the Sentinels before being brought to SPACE! POOR X-MEN.

30-cent price variant! 1st Appearance of Black Tom Cassidy. Black cover makes it hard in high grade. Super Lucky to find this cheapish and to add it to the collection. There were "regions" where these price variants were more prevalent, but I found mine on eBay. A fun kind of niche book with the price variant, the first of this run of 3 in this series that I obtained. A 1st appearance to boot, with another space adventure. Tom Cassidy is a staff toting kind of villain so to speak. He gets the drop on a few characters, namely Xavier in the animated series. All the while there are visions of someone called Lilandra and a picture of the Shiar. Just what does it all mean, as the animated series was to be continued nearly the entire season with these episodes, almost directly adapted from the comics. Just what were they ushering in? The story was continued and successfully for quite a while!

Old label goodness, old team versus new team. It couldn't be more epic of a cover, finally the clash that people new should come. This old label seems in my opinion correctly graded and is a well-centered copy! Old vs New X-men. A score to settle? Something to prove? A simple miscommunication? Xavier in the middle, saying, "Oh, what fresh heck is this?!?" LOL. Sometimes the old way of doing things is so common it seems the only way to go. With new blood and fresh ideas, you almost can't forget the old as a teacher. Stand in the way and ask for the old paths! It is a time-honored tradition for the younglings to make their own mistakes, but we can't count them out yet. They have spunk and Moxy too! Only seeming a bit brash and inexperienced in the execution. Xavier is the oldest of old with the tried true way, lasting 100 issues, give him a listen!
 Once they can get past squabbling, they will look more towards relationships past the end of their nose, and more on the likeminded plight of mutant kind and with those of similar siren calling.
Complete with a back cover picture of even "Marvel Girl" dawning her older costume on the cover and the same in 90s cards! I'm not sure when the new became thought of as better! Even in Marvel Cards she's a red head beauty who obviously knows what you're thinking!

30 Cent Price Variant! X-men #100! Got from the boardie ComicVein for a decent price. Glad for this to be my 2nd edition for this #98-100 run of 30 centers. A very presentable 7.0! I love the 30 centers, as I find them more affordable and tried and true collecting fun! This older label is just a testament at how long they've been sought out and found. A grade date of 09/08/10 is a while ago. I believe that Overstreet is the first to call them out, although I'm sure someone noticed that beforehand. Only documenting them in the public arena was the proper progression. Recognized by CGC, are fun and get their own notation on the CGC label. Certainly, make it a positive niche with so much going on and the hoopla surrounding their distribution and functionality. Always a nice edition and is an extra score if found in the "wild!" These older issues are almost all picked over by now though.

The 1st Phoenix. Claremont is on fire with this book and offering a fresh perspective of a very old tale! Jean Grey will never be the same. I'm glad to own this copy or any copy really! With the enormous story that was in X-men the animated series, it really hit the spot to this kid! That Phoenix could draw you in, red hair, voice and command; all kids dream! Soon to have a rebirth after rebirth and just what will happen to Jean Grey? Can it be that this creature has the mind and brains trapped? Or is there a telltale sign that nothing is as it seems. Getting to the bottom of it will take a saga of epic proportions. Shiar other worldly high-tech equipment and a battle for a soul of the cosmos. Claremont ushers in the new stories taking his time for a long running and a long-standing tale that has been before but now appears between the pages of the X-men. Much to our Delight and Satisfaction.
 ~ Christians Inferno! The "Green Day's" of our life suited up to resurrect!

Juggernaut, Black Tom Cassidy & Misty Knight appearance. Origin of Storm. Chris Claremont story. Dave Cockrum & Sam Grainger art. Dave Cockrum cover. Claustrophobia is Storms weakness when a "god" but not by her own volition, as it takes a discovering and then some order of class to rank her into the person, whether she wants to BE the weather princess or not. Not always a strong sentiment of support animal as the mind is still her weakness when it comes to Charles Xaiver helping her become more down to earth. She is blitzed by several kinds of broods and breeds, but the center of consciousness has always been her go to brother for comfort, as it is closer than any other. In the end she hiccups and wheezes, but her youthful mind is as old as time, but this "time" not forgot by her prowess in turn taking some responsibility as a team leader!
 Built walls like in Minecraft shown here with movie merchandise, also shows that even "Storm" needs some built in calm in the "eye of the storm", and with a still small voice as her hurricane rolls the waves of closeness and bonds of trust.
Complete with a back cover picture of those other danger zone imperfections, like Pearl Jam sang ~ it's my blood! Those lines aren't an Eric Clapton song but rather the storm within the expectancy and games of red light, green light! Continue living in the truth and need not die at all! Black Tom & Juggernaut appearance. Chris Claremont story. Dave Cockrum & Sam Grainger art. Dave Cockrum cover. "Death Siege" sounds serious and mysterious and crime waves are furious, because they can't find the source of this lethally Ezekiel force. Storm shredding up the "power" for the reign of humility as it all hits the newspapers. Whence came a juggernaut and a reckoning jubilee then flooded the streets as, too, hombres of muscle puddy made their way to the rooftops to hurl insults at the class of X-men that throws lightning bolts with her hand, mind, soul, heart and strength. Well, that does it, I guess the Phoenix run is complete with the last book now added in the registry to finish out a times and half a time of working, consolidating, and otherwise excelling at some studious scrapbooking, which is collecting to collect in a thrill of the hunt as some time to reflect on sets for the win!
Complete with a back cover picture. Those are the ends and outs of wisdom that came filling out the set with love, but the dad joke is that it succumbed to its completion and without hesitation, the merry melody clashes against an over and done plus well thought out set. Glad to see it go, but maybe some upgrades in store, whence the billiard balls are reset. "May Angels Surround you Always!" Pleasent greetings and goodbyes.

1st appearance of the Starjammers (in cameo) X-men #1 (1963) Homage! Another awesome story in this run, and I experienced it first in the X-men animated series cartoon. It was worth waking up early to watch with my brother. I knew something was coming and anticipated the Phoenix! To learn of the family connections that came with this crossover from space, and with Cyclops who was not necessarily welcome to the news; a game changer, but at least it didn't feel like a soap opera. Action bound; Claremont delivers! Awesome in color and vibrant, the cover promises continued action and a bit of exploring. Just what did Magneto have to do with all of this, well he wants his say and to be heard. With a bit of a fade, and or, scratch on the cover around the Wolverine's claw, I'm sure that is why this only got a 9.6. If it had been 9.8, I probably couldn't have afforded it. Bought off of the Dave and Adam's website, I had faith in this series and went all out.
 With the power of magnetism, Magneto can use everything, including the kitchen sink.

Either 1st Full App or 2nd Lilandra! Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum cameo. A great read that takes the X-men through the portal to escape the Firelord. Got to have these Phoenix Saga readers graded. A Dave and Adams pick up with some rewards. NM 9.4! The Phoenix is trying to save everyone, but they've got their own things going on. Firelord has seen just what she is capable of and is out to lay waste. The other X-men can do little to help, until a portal opens, dare they go through it? What is on the other side? The animated series didn't mention the "Firelord" that much and focused on Jean Grey and the Shiar battle for her soul with the Phoenix. Sometimes staying focused is the key to a rebirth. Proving your salt and making the lessons learn apply to your new situation, so that you can feel justified in the decisions that the X-men make.
 Odds and ends make for nice knick-knacks, the better for imagination and when learning to watch where you step, ouch! My toes, My toes!
Complete with back cover picture of what sums up the Jean Grey story with her two main men, we pretend it's another soap opera, but Cyclops and Wolverine have stuck their necks out for the Phoenix more times than can be counted.
