Synopsis:
Candace Southern returns home to the Manhattan penthouse apartment that she shares with Warren Worthington to discover feathers and blood on the floor. She hears an intruder still inside and calls Professor X for help, but Sunder interrupts the call by confronting Southern. Xavier contacts Nightcrawler telepathically, who is visiting his girlfriend Amanda Sefton in her Manhattan apartment, and explains that Worthington and Southern have been attacked. Nightcrawler teleports to the exterior of Worthington's apartment and sees someone carry the Angel into a subway entrance. Before he can pursue, Southern is hurled through the penthouse window and Nightcrawler grabs her before she falls to the street below, and teleports them both back to safety inside Sefton's apartment.
Later, the X-Men gather at Sefton's apartment, however Wolverine is in Japan[1] and therefore is not available. Storm asks Xavier via telepathic link if Wolfsbane can be made available to assist in tracking Angel's location, but he states unequivocally that New Mutants are students and are not to participate in missions. Instead he suggests that Storm use Mini-Cerebro to track Angel. The X-Men depart to search for Angel; leaving Southern, Lockheed, and Sefton to wait at the apartment.
The X-Men go to the subway platform where Nightcrawler saw the unknown assailant carry Angel; Storm checks the Mini-Cerebro which indicates that Angel is far below the subway station. As they travel further beneath the surface to the Alley, Storm becomes more agitated due to the enclosed space, noise, and filth. Eventually, they are attacked by a group of Morlocks and Storm directs Sprite to scout the area while she, Nightcrawler and Colossus fight off the attackers. Sprite phases through a wall and finds a group of four Morlocks: Sunder, Callisto, Plague, and Masque, who appear to be coordinating the attack. She is quickly discovered and Plague lunges at her; she phases and escapes but feels desperately ill after being touched by Plague. The Morlock attack of the three X-Men breaks off and they continue their search for Angel, leaving Sprite behind, unaware of her situation. They eventually find Angel unconscious and held captive by Callisto who intends for him be her prince. As she moves to cut Angel's pinfeathers to prevent him from flying, the X-Men stop her, but before they can free Angel they are overwhelmed by Morlocks. Elsewhere, Caliban finds Sprite and recognizes her from when he attempted to abduct her[2] and takes her to a bedroom to care for her in the hopes that she will be grateful for his efforts and fall in love with him. However, he is unable to reverse the effects of Plague's sickness and fears that she is dying.
Meanwhile, Tessa has summoned Sebastian Shaw to the Hellfire Club. When he arrives she explains that Emma Frost had wanted to warn him about some danger, but was attacked by an unknown force and fell into a coma before she could communicate the threat. Shaw and Tessa discuss that only a telepath of phenomenal strength would be capable of subduing Frost, but the only person who would seem able to accomplish this is Xavier. Shaw dismisses the notation immediately as the professor is, "too high-minded and honorable."

Synopsis:
Storm addresses the Morlocks in the Alley as their new leader, having defeated Callisto in a duel. She announces that they shall not attack the surface dwellers any longer. Callisto, despite her weakened state, confronts Storm and threatens to take back leadership of the Morlocks one day, but Storm disregards her threat. Nightcrawler is concerned that Storm's personality is changing to become much more ruthless, and she doesn't seem to mind.
Back at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Lilandra is helping Charles Xavier with his therapy to recover his ability to walk with his newly cloned body, but his efforts are becoming too painful. Xavier detects that Rogue has arrived at the school, and notifies Colossus to greet their visitor. Xavier gathers the X-Men along with Illyana, Lilandra and Rogue to hear what she has to say. She asks for Xavier's help in controlling her powers, but Ariel (Kitty Pryde), Nightcrawler, and Storm are skeptical. After a brief discussion, Xavier asks the others to leave so he and Lilandra can talk with Rogue without distraction from their negative emotions. The X-Men leave to take out their frustrations in the Danger Room. Illyana intends to start a training program, but instead brings up and image from Belasco's throne room. Kitty is surprised by the manifestation, and attempts to turn off the program, but Illyana, possessed by some form of madness, produces the Soulsword and attacks her. Kitty disarms her which brings Illyana back to her senses. Ororo spends time alone in her loft reflecting on the changes in her personality recently, when Xavier calls the X-Men back to his study and declares that Rogue will be a member of the team on a probationary basis.
At the Danvers' home in Beverly, Massachusetts, Carol Danvers visits with her parents. As Carol leaves, the good-bye is a hollow one as her personal feelings towards her parents are gone since Rogue stripped away her memories and powers. She returns to Xavier's school shocked to find Rogue there and immediately attacks her. The X-Men break up the battle and explain to Binary that Rogue has been admitted to the school as well as membership to the team. However, the X-Men are reluctant to welcome the former villain until Xavier convinces them that any mutant should be given a chance for a better life. Hearing this, Binary flies off in anger.
In Anchorage, Madelyne Pryor wakes up from a nightmare, and Scott Summers comes running to her side. After she calms down she tells Scott about the 747 crash where she was the only survivor. She gives the date of the accident as September 1, 1980 which Scott recognizes as the date Jean Grey died.

Synopsis:
Members of the X-Men arrive at Mariko Yashida's apartment in Japan ahead of Wolverine and Mariko's wedding, which is to occur in 5 days. Wolverine greets all of them warmly, except Rogue, who remains in the doorway until Mariko welcomes her inside. Logan has not forgiven Rogue for taking the powers and memories from Carol Danvers, but Storm says that Charles Xavier has accepted her as a member of the team. Silver Samurai is outside the building, spying on the conversation inside when he is attacked by Yukio. Wolverine hears the commotion and asks Nightcrawler to teleport him outside to find out what is happening. Wolverine immediately attacks the samurai who flees; Yukio also runs away, leaping across the rooftops, but looses her footing. Storm catches her before she falls to the street below, and the women have a brief conversation before Yukio makes another playful exit. The group returns inside where Storm explains that Harada had previously teamed up with Viper to battle the New Mutants which resulted in the death of Xuân Cao M?nh. Wolverine describes Clan Yashida's ties to the criminal underworld in Japan, and how Mariko's father Shingen was head of the clan until Wolverine killed him. They theorize that the Silver Samurai may be looking to expand his influence globally. Mariko secretly leaves the apartment for a meeting with Keniuchio Harada; meanwhile Viper knocks Mariko's maid unconscious and takes her place to serve tea laced with poison to the X-Men at the apartment. Wolverine drinks the tea, realizes it's been poisoned and warns Storm as he falls to the floor. Storm drops the tea before having a drink, but the rest of the X-Men have already succumbed to the poison.
Mariko leaves for her secret meeting with Keniuchio, not realizing that her driver is in fact Yukio in disguise. She arrives at a nondescript warehouse where Harada, Viper and Nabatone Yokuse are waiting for her. Nabatone will act as arbiter of the dispute between the two, but Mariko declares that she rules Clan Yashida regardless of Keniuchio's claim. However, Nabatone reveals that she not really Mariko but Yukio in disguise, which sets off a battle between her and Silver Samurai. Meanwhile, Viper goes out to Mariko's car to find her, but after opening the door she is blown back by a powerful wind gust, knocking her unconscious. Storm tells the real Mariko to leave immediately while Storm joins Yukio in the fight against Harada. She directs a bolt of lightening at him, but it is more powerful than she expected so she tries to draw the power back into herself. But she loses control and lightening fires throughout the warehouse detonating explosives. Yukio, seeing the danger, grabs Mariko's kimono she discarded earlier and leaps to smother and push Storm and herself out of the warehouse as it explodes. Silver Samurai survives the explosion and recovers Viper, vowing revenge.
At a Tokyo hospital, Wolverine and Rogue have both recovered enough to go after the Silver Samurai while the rest of the X-Men remain in intensive care.
In Anchorage, Alaska, Scott Summers is searching through files on Madelyne Pryor intending to find a link between her and Jean Grey. His brother Alex confronts Scott on his activities questioning his motivations.

Synopsis:
Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor are on the Starjammer enjoying the view of Earth when Scott's father Christopher Summers and Hepzibah take them to the bridge to meet the rest of the Starjammers and they reveal that Binary has joined the crew. Corsair asks Scott if is still interested in leaving with the Starjammers,[1] but Scott hesitates. Madelyne tells him not to refuse on her account. In the ship's infirmary, Lilandra is helping Charles Xavier with his physical therapy to gain the ability to walk, but she finds that the source of his problem is physical and not mental. She receives a message from the Shi'ar Empire about her sister Deathbird and the inevitability of civil war. She declares that she must soon return home and asks Xavier to return with her, but he feels dutybound to stay on Earth due to his responsibilities with the X-Men and New Mutants. Then they discuss Scott's relationship with Madelyne Pryor and if she could somehow be connected to Jean Grey as the Phoenix.
At the Clan Yashida Ancestral Stronghold in Agarashima, Japan, Wolverine confronts Mariko Yashida about why she called off their wedding.[2] She reiterates that he is not worthy, but he doesn't accept this response and drops her clan's honor sword in disgust. Mariko directs her half-brother Keniuchio Harada to retrieve the sword and tells Wolverine to leave her sight forever.
Kitty Pryde relaxes in her room at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters before she visits Piotr Rasputin's room while he is struggling with his latest painting. She convinces him to leave his room and close his eyes so she can show him a surprise, she then jumps into his arms and surprises him with a kiss. After he gets over his initial shock, she extends her phase power to him allowing him to walk up through the ceiling carrying her to Ororo's attic loft. As they kiss again, Storm arrives and interrupts them. Kitty is surprised that the loft is no longer filled with flowers, but Storm says that she has changed her home to match her recent change in personality. In Jean Grey's old room at the mansion, Rogue is recovering from injuries suffered at the hands of Viper.[2] Kurt Wagner is with her and explains the history of Jean Grey as the Phoenix including her eventual death.[3] He returns to his room to find a gift from Amanda Sefton of a doll in her image.

Scott proposes to Madelyne and she accepts, afterwards she flies them back to Anchorage, Alaska. On the way, Scott checks on the passengers and a priest hands him a a picture of Jean Grey claiming that Scott had dropped it. Scott is flustered, since this picture is not his and wonders how it got there. Later that evening, they arrive at Madelyne's house where Jason Wyngarde is lurking in the shadows. Scott asks her if she is Phoenix and she responds by furiously hitting him, knocking his Ruby-Quartz Sunglasses off. After putting on his spare glasses, Scott goes looking for Madelyne in the house but is attacked by Dark Phoenix.

Synopsis:
The X-Men are at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters chopping down a dying tree when suddenly a large firebird appears in the sky above them, and Cyclops falls from the fiery image. Rogue catches him, and Storm directs Nightcrawler to take him to the infirmary, but he belays that concerned that Phoenix has returned from the dead.[1] Professor X summons the team to his study where he uses Cerebro to attempt to verify Summers' fears, but is knocked out by electrical feedback from the mutant detector. Nightcrawler teleports him to the infirmary while Kitty inspects Cerebro, and finds that all the safety interlocks have been disengaged and the settings reversed which caused the professor's power to be reflected back at him, which would have to have been initiated by the professor himself. As the group discusses how and why this could happen, Dark Phoenix rises out of Cyclops causing him to collapse. The team attacks her but are easily defeated by her powers, except for Wolverine who sees no point in an attack at this time. Phoenix leaves to perform some 'errands', promising to return to finish what she started.
After the team recovers, they call the Starjammers on their communication system; Corsair answers and tells them that Phoenix has attacked their ship and that the other Starjammers have been killed. Soon, there is an explosion on the screen and the connection terminates. Next they contact the Avengers, but their conversation with Captain America is cut short by another explosion. They patch into a military satellite to confirm that Manhattan has been destroyed.
In the infirmary, Professor X is stable but still unconscious, while Cyclops also remains unconscious but without any physical damage. However, Cyclops' disembodied consciousness observes the X-Men attending to his body; unable to communicate with his teammates. In this state, Summers sees a vision of his mother, but she disappears before he can reach her. Cyclops wakes in his body and realizes that they have fallen victim to their foe Mastermind. He attempts to warn the rest of the team, but as they are still under the influence of Mastermind, see him as Dark Phoenix and attack him accordingly. Storm uses her powers to control the wind to bring Cyclops close where Colossus can take a swing at him, cracking a couple of his ribs. Cyclops manages to turn the tables enough to make his escape, but Kitty tackles him by phasing through a wall when he throws them both off the balcony causing her to instinctively phase them both through the floor and down into the Danger Room. Nightcrawler teleports down to the control booth of the Danger Room to set it against Cyclops, but Scott has rigged the panel to shock Nightcrawler senseless and then he puts Kitty to sleep with a nerve pinch. The remaining X-Men confront him in the Danger Room, but he uses a remote control to change the environment to imitate the Savage Land and hides in the jungle while they are distracted.
Elsewhere, Madelyne Pryor, dressed in Dark Phoenix's costume, and is utterly confused. Mastermind reveals himself to her and explains that the Phoenix is responsible for causing his madness[2] and since he cannot act against her, he is taking vengeance against her teammates. He then taunts Pryor by making her think he is Scott, stealing a kiss, and laughing at her reaction as reveals his true form.
Cyclops continues to evade the X-Men in the jungle, however he must cross an open field to the exit of the danger room when Storm attacks him. But she throws off her lightning bolt, and as Cyclops hits her with an optic blast he wonders if she has figured out Mastermind's deception. Rogue catches Storm and lands between Cyclops and the door, but he uses a wide-angle blast the against the surrounding field of "Oz Poppies" to release the dust to render her unconscious. He shuts down all of the mansion's surveillance equipment so Mastermind won't know where he is, and then takes Rogue to the infirmary. There he wakes her and quickly touches her hand to Professor X's forehead so she will gain his telepathic power and then be able to read his mind and realize that Cyclops is not Phoenix. The remainder of the X-Men appear but before they can attack Cyclops he has Rogue telepathically connect all of their minds to prove his identity. Then Phoenix appears behind them and attacks Cyclops but he knows that it is just an illusion that cannot harm him. However a gunshot takes Cyclops down, which is detected by Wolverine who realizes that Mastermind is behind the attacks on the team. He lets Storm know that Mastermind is nearby and she summons a furious monsoon that blows the villain into a wall and knocks him senseless. Wolverine pops his claws and goes for the kill, but Storm prevents him from executing the villain. Scott recovers and finds Madelyne lying face down in a pool of water left from the storm; he rushes over to resuscitate her.
Later, Scott lays flowers on Jean Grey's grave at the cemetery of St. Stephen's Chapel at Bard College. He returns to Xavier's school where he and Madelyne are married in the company of friends and family.

Synopsis:
Jim Lenahan and Carl Worth are interrogating Angle Man about his attempted murder of Catwoman. They can't believe he used a simple sharpened triangle when he used to have triangles that bent time and control gravity. Angle Man says they were stolen, and that's why he teamed up with Hugo Strange and his group--for backup.
Commissioner Akins has it out for supervillains. He wants to get into their heads anyway he can, and that includes Angle Man's. The Gotham City Police Department had one of his old triangles in lockup, and if he tells them how it works, they can offer him a reduced sentence. Angle Man takes the triangle and tells them it will be no problem to teach them how it works... then he disappears in a burst of electricity.
Lenahan curses the bomb squad. They told him they'd deactivated that thing. Their only hope is that they weren't kidding when they said the triangle had a hundred yard range. Sam Bradley is using the Smart Bomb armor, and he might be able to pick Angle Man up before he can get too far.
Zatanna has found Catwoman on a roof. She says Catwoman isn't the person she thinks she is. Catwoman tries to change the subject by asking about Zatanna's name and whether she can get them out of the rain, so Zatanna teleports them to Selina Kyle's apartment to resume the conversation.
Smart Bomb is threatening two teenage vandals when Lenahan and Worth contact him, telling him Angle Man escaped. They think that Angle Man is going to meet Black Mask, and they want him to bring his ally Smart Bomb along with him. Commissioner Akins has given the order himself. Smart Bomb agrees. He flies off warning the kids to behave.
Catwoman and Zatanna reappear in Selina's apartment. Selina is shocked and angered by this invasion of her privacy. She calls out the Justice League, saying that just because they're up there watching over them doesn't mean they know people, but Zatanna says she does know Selina, much better than she would like. Then she asks, "Do you ever wonder why you're not a criminal anymore?"
Holly and Karon are buying CDs when Karon asks Holly if everything is back to normal with Selina. Holly says so. She adds that she isn't freaked out about Catwoman's supposed death because Selina isn't freaked out. Selina is in control of things. Karon wonders if that means they're just a couple of ordinary girls at the mercy of the big, bad world.
Angle Man is hiding in an alleyway, cursing his luck. His triangle only had one charge left in it, and now it's only good for drawing a right angle. Smart Bomb finds him and remembers what it looked like when Angle Man apparently killed Catwoman. He fires at Angle Man. Angle Man survives, however, and he tells Smart Bomb that Catwoman is alive. Anyway, Smart Bomb needs connections he can't get for having a crush on Catwoman, and Angle Man offers to introduce Smart Bomb to Black Mask.
Selina disagrees with Zatanna that she's not a criminal anymore, but Zatanna contrasts Selina's current vigilantism with how she used to be more concerned with money and thrills than anything else. Selina can't remember why she made the change, however, so Zatanna casts a spell: "Rebmemer."
Years ago, Selina woke up on the Justice League Satellite surrounded by Zatanna, Black Canary, the Flash, Green Arrow and Hawkman. Zatanna reassured Selina that they were her friends and they'd help her get on the right path, and the Flash hurried her along, saying they needed to get her back before he noticed she was gone. Zatanna stalled because Selina was still woozy from the teleporter, and Hawkman called her out for not wanting to do this in the first place. Hawkman restrained Selina while Zatanna cast a spell: "Nrut, anileS... Nrut morf nialliv ot oreh..."
In the present, Zatanna says, "And then I made you forget the whole matter, and we sent you back to Gotham. It was that simple." She reaches out a hand for Selina, who slaps it away. Selina heads to a kitchen drawer and pulls out a roll of duct tape, which she uses to gag Zatanna. She knows exactly what she's going to do. She knows what a villain would do.
Catwoman pushes Zatanna out the window with her mouth covered so she can't cast anymore spells, and when Zatanna lands on a dumpster and tries to take off the duct tape, Catwoman pulls her hand away with her whip. She demands to know if Zatanna had any idea what she's done.
They fight briefly until Zatanna gets her mouth uncovered and says, "Selina... pots." Catwoman stands frozen in the alleyway. Zatanna apologizes. She knows that she had no right to do that, but Catwoman had the right to know. She teleports herself away.
Angle Man introduces Smart Bomb to Black Mask. He thinks that Smart Bomb's firepower could help them take out Catwoman once and for all, but Black Mask doesn't want to take out Catwoman. He wants to hurt her for the way she's embarrassed him. First, he's going to kill someone close to her.
Selina is in her apartment, rifling through her closet. She is furious that all of her choices these last few years haven't mattered because they weren't her choices, Zatanna was inside her head, changing her. She throws all of her old Catwoman costumes onto her bed and stares at them before putting her head in her hands. She doesn't know who the hell she is.

Synopsis:
As the Cheetah and Hera fight, the Silencer argues with Wonder Woman about the right course of action and whom she should support. Using the Lasso of Truth, she binds the goddess and villain to her mind, where she confronts both of them for manipulating her. Perceiving the truth allows her to regain control of the Lasso, which she uses to bind the Cheetah and force her to confront how misguided she has been, becoming one and the same with the gods she so much hated for influencing her destiny. She admits that she has been blind, agreeing to submit in loving friendship to Diana and returns Wonder Woman's Tiara but she also lashes out violently at Hera one last time, throwing a blade that misses her and stabs the Silencer through the shoulder. Wonder Woman tells Hera that she no longer needs her guidance and that Wonder Woman from now on must find her mission following her heart alone, so the goddess disappears, telling Diana that only time will tell if she's right. After Diana offers The Silencer an opportunity to learn the ways of Themyscira and to be healed by Amazon surgeons, the two discuss their moral codes, with Silencer telling Diana that she learned to respect her ways, so she thinks Diana should do as much. With a bond of respect between one another, Silencer tends to her wounds as Wonder Woman leaves for Themyscira.
