Owner's Description
Silver Surfer Vs Spider-man. The first they've met! I wanted to again get back a Silver Surfer that meant something to me. After trading away my #4, I'm happy to hold this book in grade for one of the most epic meetings! I had found this "raw and in the wild" several times but couldn't swing the price! It must be a time-honored tradition for this book to command a premium, as it holds its value, and I enjoy it for the cover. This would be a dream match-up! Especially when the Silver Surfer was new, and starting his own ongoing series, I'd have bought it off the stands to see him get his character rounded out. What better way than to go outside the "common space" but to have a Spider-encounter. Sure to be with sarcasm and a good time! The Silver Surfer is accurately portrayed and the character, almost picture perfect. He would look very stunning in film, and he has, therein lies the need for a good plot! Kirby often started off with the perfect transitioning in mind, that helped encourage others continue reading for many issues and more titles or artists of the same characters, like John Buscema for this issue!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "STING!" A pet arachnid turns out not to be "friendly in the neighborhood", when it grows into a flesh-eating stray that attacks those who originally looked after it. Pets?!? What can you do when they turn out to be older and are the biting and stinging variety?!
Grader Notes:
crease left top of front cover through book breaks color;
crease right bottom of back cover;
spine stress lines breaks color.
