The Complete Blade Runner Franchise
|
I fell in love with Blade Runner because of my deep affinity for sci-fi and how much these movies made me think about what it means to be alive. As soon as I heard comics were being released that added more world building, I started collecting them immediately. Being a collector as well as someone who loves visual storytelling, I just knew I had to have them all. My obsession has driven me to grow this hobby into the best framed collection of Blade Runner artwork in the world, with special thanks to CGC and the Blade Runner fans out there who've helped me along the way. It gives me so much pride in not only curating this set, but also in sharing it with fellow comic book fans, movie fans, and the world.
My personal goal is to get nearly all of the Blade Runner franchise comics in a 9.6 or higher.
I'm also very proud that this set won the 2023 CGC Comics Registry award for Best Presented Set. You can read a detailed write-up of my set with some great commentary from CGC staff by clicking this link here.

I'm not sure how many issues of his I'll eventually have graded copies of, but I'll add them as I acquire them. I'd like all of any early ASM / PPSSM / Web Of era covers until his "death" for sure but it's impossible to stop there. At this time cover appearances are more important than issues where there was just an appearance / cameo.
Ideally I'd like any appearance and maybe even add in the Hallows Eve and Demogoblin issues too! It helps that there are a lot of issues where there are appearances by multiple characters.
Some will be issues that I got off the rack or out of bins and others much later. Let's go!!!

Some of the slabs I have became tattoos permanently inked on my body too. Some make the PC but ultimately go back into the wild.

Would like to complete a number of runs I collected as a kid, including some of my favorite issues of all-time, some favorite artists, some limited series, and many key issues. I prefer the look of the Newsstand Edition versions with UPC barcode, over their Direct Edition counterparts.
Although most in this set are from the 1980’s, would like to add issues that were released up to 12/13, which is when Marvel Newsstand Editions stopped being produced.

AUSTRALIAN - Adventures of CATMAN series - BEST Graded

I will soon have 30 out of the possible 35 issues of CATMAN graded and encapsulated by CGC.
CATMAN #14, 16, 18, 19, 21 (Tricho Pub.) have been sent for grading 2024. This will complete all issues published by Tricho Publications.

I think it would be fun to build a high grade set of comics, having at least one from each recognized pedigree. Not sure if that will ever happen, $$$$$, but I’m gonna try!
As of 07/01/2023 there are 18 different pedigrees represented out of 61. Long way to go but I do enjoy the hunt!
In the last two months, I have added five new pedigrees to the set! Bethlehem, Circle 8, Don/Maggie Thompson, Ohio and Northland. 49 books from 23 different pedigrees.
December 2023: I got the second batch of reholders with the new labels. Ready to send the next group in!
January 2024: the third group came back! Also awaiting the arrival of Crowley and Hawkeye copies. Preparing to send in another group soon. All of the new images have been added too.
March 1 2024: there are now 54 books from 25 different pedigrees. Sending in the last group for new labels next week.

WANTS: BB #123, Captain Aero #17, Catman nn (yellow, floating heads cover), STT V2 #10.
I'm sure there's a few others, I think one of the Horrors books (I gotta check) and likely a few of the funny animal books. I also wouldn't mind upgrading some of the books that came back restored / qualified either. I'd also like a BB #105 and a better Mask #2 (my copy currently ungraded), but I don't really see that happening without a winning lottery ticket.
It's all just a matter of opportunity, luck, and money!
